Hey! Your blog has never failed to give me something worth reading so thank you for creating it. I also wanted to ask if you happen to know the book and if you think buying it ( "The Complete Magician's Tables" by Stephen skinner ) would be a good idea? The value is inconsequential to me. I was just wondering if the information in the book is worth space in my brain..
Personally I do not own the book my friend, and after watching people flip through it on YouTube, and looking through a pdf version I found of it. It really seems more like a reference book rather than anything to read, and I feel that most of this information is useless without the cultural, and traditional understandings of these practices, and traditions that the information comes from. The book does not explain much of anything, and much rather tells you connections, and correspondences through charts, which you will need prior knowledge to use effectively.
because of this I feel like it could be a cool thing to have, but it really would not have much of a use unless you were knowledgeable on many different subjects. I also believe that some of it's information pertaining to cultural traditions may be incorrect, or represented through the Western mindset, which made cheap in the information in accordance with the subjects.
One small nitpick I have is about them seems to be spelling Kabbalah with a k, when they are talking about hermetic qabalah, which is spelled with a Q, and is really something completely different then Jewish Kabbalah, because of the influence of hermeticism and Christian Cabala on it.
This is what I think about the book so far my friend but I can't give it a flat out review because I have not sat down with the book for a long period of time. Thank you for the question, I appreciate it.
