Island, episode 2

Stop reading while you still can, a tiiiny spoiler alert ahead (⁠◠⁠‿⁠◕⁠)

Firstly, I have to say, Korea, what are you doing to me?!! Do you have any idea how perfect this series is? Two episodes in and I am so hooked. I could binge it, I honestly could, but I am practicing self discipline. Also, I want to enjoy it for some time and let every episode sink in. You know, like an adult. You can judge me all you want, it's alright.

Secondly, the display of multiple timeline story is elegantly executed, at least for now. It's well thought, not confusing at all, and personally I find it perfectly timed. Right when I start asking questions about what is going on, there starts the "past life" timeline which explains a great deal. I don't know about others, I personally prefer having things explained right on time as it keeps me way more focused on the show. Plus it keeps the unnecessary angst away.

Yes, an angst hater here! Give me the horror, supernatural, demon-slaying fantasy. But if you give me angst, the hair-pulling nerve-wracking questions of uncertainty that get dragged throughout multiple episodes, we have a problem.

Anyways, it's showed that Mi-ho and Van (the demon slayer, who is partially demon himself) are both reincarnations from the ancient Jeju era. My guess is, our pretty Eun-woo, or priest Giovanni, is also the reincarnation, and that of another boy who is still in the background of those past lifetime flashes. Or maybe he is not, but I'd enjoy the demon possessed pretty boy version of the plot so much.

Of course, the priest is sent back to Korea to be by Mi-ho's side, while she's saving the world. And while we're at it, here you go. You're welcome.

I almost spat my tea. How in the name of God did they manage to incorporate such childish humor in the apocalyptic demon hunting series? I don't even care, I'm there for it (⁠◕⁠ᴗ⁠◕⁠✿⁠)

Okay, back to reality. In this episode we have our Mi-ho getting chased by the lust demon for multiple times and the mysterious demon-slayer saving her. She can't leave the island and she's so done with her life. We get you girl. But. It's so much more than that, of course.

First we have serious car action. Speeding, drifting. It blew my mind away. Like yes! Oh my...they know what we want, I swear they did some market research where they found girls are more and more into sports cars. And they delivered. Just as I thought that's best they can give us, we see this demon-slayer superhero totally trying to show off in front of Mi-ho. But he doesn't do any of that willingly? What?

Does that mean, ENEMIES TO LOVERS plotline ...... um HELLO?????

This series will be the end of me. I mean, he's obviously obsessed with her. And the final scene spilled it all out for us. He loves her deeply. Ever since she promised to came back for him (in the past life) he has feelings for her. And because of the demon that's inside him, he couldn't control himself and ended up killing her in the past life. Ok, getting familiar with the past lifetime story it's easy to connect the dots as to why is the demon persistently after Mi-ho. It's a typical vampire-falling-in-love plotline, so I will not be getting into that too much.

He hates himself for it. Another guess here - pretty baby boy priest Giovanni will execute exorcism once all of this ends and Mi-ho and Van will live happily ever after? Please? Make it happen? (⁠◕⁠ᴗ⁠◕⁠✿⁠)

We all know what came after that scene, I mean jumping on that bed while the woman was tied up like........... I'd be screaming too!!! But that was episode 1. Also, I laughed way too hard at the combination of gore and ... you know, him being pretty and all that what's been going on. Jesus Christ! Tumblr will be swarming with priest giovanni x reader content, I know it, you know it, everybody knows it.

Okay, I'm getting all kinds of ideas, plus could be writing till tomorrow if I continue. This series is such a joy, go watch it, now, you won't regret it ♡
