re: my last post, i have come to a realisation. taylor momsen is a mezzo trying to be a contralto and lana del rey is a contralto trying to be a mezzo

#meanwhile amy lee is just vibing #like don't get me wrong i LOVE tpr with my whole whole heart. im literally listening to hangman rn #but the way taylor so desperately wants to manipulate her voice to fit the male grunge singers of the 90s makes me sad tbh #she has a gorgeous upper register that she's used to great effect in 'light me up' (album not the song)#and yet it's basically absent from anything post- 'who you selling for'#idk. i love taylor momsen but sometimes i think she tries too hard to emulate chris cornell #music #michi.txt
