“Yeah, and thats the problem Janus!! You rarely are anymore!!” Virgil started feeling lightheated and thought he was going to faint at any second, but ignored it.
“I- wow you so aren’t being dramatic.”
“Oh yeah! Of course. My boyfriend only cheated on me and tried to lie about it. Yeah, you’re right, nothing big.”
“Virgil thats not what I meant-”
“Mhm.” He then started feeling extremely hot, despite it being extremely cold a few seconds ago. He could also feel his heart beating extremely fast, but blamed it on him being mad.
“Virgil why are you so stubborn? I’m trying to defend myself.”
“Yeah yeah yeah whatever you weren’t sober and weren’t in a good place mentally so instead of talking about it or asking for support, you went to the bar, hooked up with someone, and thought you could get away with it.”
“I-Virgil I love you though…”
“Do you? Huh…thats funny…really funny….I really want to believe that…but I can’t.”
“Im telling the truth you’re just being stubborn!”
“How was I such and idiot that you, out of all people, could ever love me??”
“Virgil! I do love you!! You’re just being….ridiculous!”
“Mhm. Telling me that is going to make this situation better Janus.” Virgil started very quietly gasping for air. He couldn’t breathe anymore…..
“Virgil i’m sorry, alright?! I am. I swear I am…but please calm down. I get you’re mad and you have every right to be. But please. Calm down.”
“You don’t tell me to calm down!!!” He screamed. He actually screamed….was..he going crazy? Nononono he can’t …everyone will hate him..more than they already do and they’ll all leave him and he won’t have any friends…he can’t go crazy….he can’t. Janus was taken back. Virgil…never raises his voice. He jumped slightly when Virgil collapsed onto the wall. Janus moved to catch him and sat both of them down. Virgil moved away from Janus.
“Virgil name five things you see.”
“All i’m seeing is your bullshit lies! Thats hearing but whatever!! I don’t care!! Everything you say is bullshit!!”
“Virgil. Please name five things you see.”
“Why? Im fine!! Just fucking fine!!”
“No you aren’t. Please name five things you see…please.”
Virgil rolled his eyes. “You, the floor, the wall, the kitchen, stairs.”
“Good, thank you. Name four things you hear?”
“Air conditioner, you, cars….breathing.”
“Thanksss. Three things you feel?”
“…Hoodie…” He shook his head, not being able to feel anything.
“Good job. Two things you smell?”
“Mint….I- uh…don’t k-know….”
“Thats alright. One thing you taste?”
“Blood….”
“Thank you Virgil. Breathe in for four seconds, seven seconds, and exhale for eight seconds.” Virgil followed Janus’ instructions a few times.
“Im sorry….” Virgil said after a few minutes. He sat down against that wall. Janus sat next to him.
“Why? You have nothing to be sorry for.”
“I lashed out and became emotional and wasn’t listening to you or your reasoning…”
“Virgil. How you reacted, was very valid and honestly, I probably would’ve reacted the same way if I were in your shoes.”
Virgil didn’t say anything. He was confused more than anything. He knows that when someone is intoxicated, they aren’t thinking properly…but yet he still feels…upset? Is that even what he’s feeling? He wasn’t sure. Feelings are confusing.
“Virgil? Are…you alright?”
Was he even mad at Janus? Should he be mad? Is Janus mad at Virgil?
Virgil nodded slightly. He kind of just wanted to forget this ever happened, but he knew that that was unrealistic.
“I’m sorry i’m not enough for you…”
“Virgil, you are. You are more than enough. You are sweet, caring, trustful, smart, beautiful, and so much more. Virgil I swear to any higher power person, or supernatural being, that you are enough.”
Virgil was silently crying. Was anything that Janus was saying true? People are the most truthful when they’re drunk…but they also don’t have any sense of morality.
Janus saw that Virgil was curled into himself, silently crying. “Is touch alright?” Virgil nodded slightly. Janus scooted next to Virgil and rubbed his back. Virgil scooted closer to Janus and eventually Janus pulled Virgil on his lap. “You okay with this?” Virgil nodded and leaned into Janus.
Virgil kept repeating an apology. He wasn’t even sure why he was crying. “I’m sorry for being dramatic and dumb and annoying-” He kept listing off things he thought he was for a minute or so. “I’m sorry……you deserve so much better….i’m sorry…”
“Virgil. You’re totally all of those things. You are enough, in fact, you’re more than enough. You did nothing wrong and therefore have no reason to apologize. You always have been enough and you forever will be.” Virgil moved so that he could hug Janus and Janus rubbed his back. They both wanted to start over or at least be friends but weren’t sure if the other wanted that.

yooooo just wanna say im legit SO glad i found ur blog. ur fantastic at putting words together to form solid debate w/o making it feel like unwarranted aggression. u would make a fantastic jedi. i totally get why more people dont bring up the issue considering how ppl get online, but its so great to just read good jedi meta! i also think its fascinating (in like. a horrifying way) how the jedi hate in the fandom came to be, and your explanation feels like it hit the nail in the head. Thank you so much! I’m really glad that my blog and meta has been able to resonate with you and so many other people :) And I’m glad that it doesn’t come off as aggressive, because I do worry about that sometimes when I’m trying to think of the best way to word things.
It really is so unfortunate how much more criticism the Jedi get in all aspects than any other culture in Star Wars, and how often appreciation for those other cultures spends an inordinate amount of time taking potshots at the Jedi as if to bolster their favored group by comparison. Sure, in-universe, it makes complete sense for many Mandalorians to be anti-Jedi, but the fandom doesn’t need to be.
People really don’t understand the “no attachments” thing - a lot of the expanded material didn’t help with that because they too often conflated attachment with love, and people projected that onto the films. (I also think the AOTC marketing is to blame a bit too - I was only 6 at the time the film came out so I don’t really remember but a lot of the marketing stuff seems to have gone really hard on the “forbidden love” aspect. A lot of the trailers, for example, have the line where Padmé says she thought love was forbidden for a Jedi, but don’t include Anakin’s response to that explaining the difference, so of course the former part sticks out in people’s minds through repetition).
And yeah, the Order was, as far as we’re shown in the films/TCW, generally reasonable towards Anakin and did their best to support and guide him - it’s just, well, evidently guidance is criticism in the fandom’s eyes. That, and a not-insignificant part of fandom likes to woobify him, and twisting the situation into a “everybody was so mean and unfair to him” thing is a pretty standard woobification tactic.
Fanon interpretations of the Jedi are just...really annoying, in general, and if I can at least get people to consider a more charitable view, then I’ll be much happier. If not, well, at least I can commiserate about it all with other Jedi fans like you!

Saw an ask game response abt disliking certain tropes and now i feel the strong urge to overshare my own opinions on that. Here's a list of my most UTTERLY HATED tropes/AUs/etc out there from worst to...less worst. This was rlly difficult cuz I cant think of them til I accidentally see them on AO3 and get all pissy abt it
The A/B/O wolf thingy. Its so dumb to me I'm sorry i just can't follow it and it always gets romantic and sappy somehow. Also I dont understand how wolves work. The more I think abt it the more annoyed I get.
Soulmates AUs. Ugh. Again, sooo sappy and gets SO ooc. The only exception is I once saw (didnt read tho lol) this fic where one of the characters like, kinda rebelled against the soulmate meeting thing, and he said that his eyes change color all the time with different friends. Aka its PLATONIC! SCOORRRRREEEEE! I also recently learned that soulmates AUs are often used to explain ppls pedophilic/incest ships. Disgusting.
OC/self insert fics. I dont have any issue with ppl writing these, in fact its prolly good practice for the beginner writers that make them. Assuming they're all like, 12 y/o kids. Cuz that's the grammar and vocab level in all of them. Also, theyre never very engaging or intriguing, and i never know why I should care abt the main character. I just have absolutely no interest in these fics, sorry.
Sickfics involving like....gross sickness. I get that that's more realistic or whatever but is that rlly what you're going for? This is this just whump and fluff 99% of the time. I dont need a description of [whumped character] throwing up all over the floor. Just like, fucking make them have a dizzy spell or smth; kinda gets the same result. Like are you trying to gross us out? Really?? I make one exception to this rule: throwing up/coughing up blood. That is a whole nother story tho.
Deaging/aging up fics. I dont have a huge problem with these, but I've never been interested. I've heard that this one is also used to make ppls incest/pedophilic ships seem ok, which isnt very cool. I've seen this be used for rlly weird fluff abt like, [said deaged/aged up] having to mother or be mothered by their close friends which I guess is just some weird form of fluff, but like...rlly strange. It's like the filler episode no one liked of fanfics. If it's used as a way to force a characters traumatic past be brought up then ig it's ok since theres some interesting plot, just as long as the character isnt aged down to like..an infant.
Time travel fics. Often used to fix something that happened in canon that the writer is salty about. Usually undoing a character death, or going back to see friends as their younger selves, things like that yknow. Usually hurt/comfort which is cool. I dont have a big problem with these fics, I just find them kinda hard to follow with such a weird perspective (usually the character that travelled back in time). I see a shit ton of these in the one piece fandom, mainly consisting of "luffy goes back in time to save his brothers" or "luffy, after dying before he can reach his goal, gets a second chance and goes to reform his pirate crew". Its always those. Wouldn't be surprised if it was the same stuff for other fandoms but adding "[main character] goes back in time to remeet [character's crush/soulmate/etc] so they can get married" or some sappy shit. Sorry this one is way too long lol.
Slavery AUs. These...ugh ok. These are actually pretty interesting to me, absolutely heart-wrenching and also very sweet in the end. The hurt/comfort angst in these is fucking unreal. My issue with these is they sometimes get super rapey. Starts with idk some kid gets kidnapped + sold into slavery of some sort, then [a lot of the fic being then suffer and be traumatized], and then they are freed. Bonus points for written in epilogue with a healing process and like..found family yknow. It gets fucked up in the suffering part. Way too many of these fics get into like, rape. Which makes sense tbh (god I hate that tho), it just gets too...detailed. like uh hey writer, is this like, a turn on or what? I've stopped in the middle of a few fics, or skip a chapter, cuz I was like dude I cant deal w this. Also dear authors, fucking tag your writing, stop surprising me with shit like this. I should know what I'm getting into before reading it.
Cant think of anything else atm. Might add more later if smth on AO3 catches me off gaurd lol.

what was your scariest dream: hmmmm. when i was a kid i had these recurring dreams where i worked at this like. “zoo” where these MASSIVE, i mean ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE string rays that were also pancakes were like. hooked up to make electricity? anyway i hated the job because we all abused the rays super bad to make them generate the power and it sucked and it was all dystopian. there was stuff where like we had to kill the baby rays and stuff. anyway one day it went all planet of the apes and they broke out somehow and could fly and they killed loads of people and i had to go into hiding because they were super clever and could id who had worked at the zoo plant and wanted revenge. its super weird ik but this is pretty tame for my dreams they go HARD and BIZARRE and this one always made me wake up feeling super sick and scared idk. ur welcome.

neither! honestly for me though i think that forgetting doesn’t help. it’s important to remember your experiences so that you can learn and grow and then have the potential to forgive. i think being able to forgive can be really healthy

i dont think i ....have ever had a best year of my life. this year isn’t awful though, im spending time with friends, my family is healthy, ive had employment and sex so thats +++

this could be taken a few different ways. cheating on a test? sure thats fine. stealing is cheating imo and i dont like stealing/shoplifting even though i’ve stolen before. i dont think its okay, but honestly if youre in poverty and you need food or diapers or clothes for your children/you/your dog or something then i understand. cheating on someone in a relationship? i understand why it happens but no i dont think its okay. if you are interested in other people or you even think you cant trust yourself in that area, address it with your partner first or take a break or break up if youre unhappy enough to do that. but i definitely do understand why it happens, especially considering ive done it before and have had it done to me.

i would say i can be..in the sense that im too honest sometimes and things i say are sometimes difficult to hear but i try to be considerate and fair and i would say over all im pleasant to be around..more so when im medicated though

i dont know what this means but i do believe that love exists..its just not as selfless as people claim. every body is selfish in pretty much every aspect of life, but selfishness and love for someone arent mutually exclusive.

probably like 65 degrees, sunny, light breeze, clear sky, late morning/mid afternoon OR
70 degrees nights where its super dark but the air is still and you can be outside in shorts and a t shirt and not be cold
and maybe rain..i like rain

when it isn’t snowing in may lol. i used to live in constant snow and play in it a lot as a kid so those are some good memories...it can be annoying now but i think its very pretty.

the idea kind of scares me but if i trust and love someone enough to commit like that, yes

animals, people being kind to one another, having money, SPENDING MONEY, food, inside jokes, hugs, kissing, clean socks, showering, relationships working out for other people (IT GIVES ME HOPE AND PEACE OF MIND), gifts, music, swimming, having a clean room, petting my dogs, when i look cute in an outfit, when my hair dries nice, cuddling, getting key tags for na, roadtrips, camping, things that are green, joking around with my family

no. i like my name. but i have friends who still call me kyle and i really prefer that at least with them..its just more comfortable
