okay, but where's my steddie AU where steve wants to learn to play guitar to impress a girl he's infatuated with and he remembers that munson kid was always hanging up posters for his weird band at school, so he hikes out to eddie's usual dealing spot behind the track and asks (with far less groveling than he really should have) if eddie will teach him how to play, and obviously eddie says no because why would he want to help king steve, but of course, steve offers to pay him, $20 a week, and well, that's the kind of get-the-hell-out-of-this-shithole-town cash eddie really can't afford to refuse, so fine, he'll teach steve to play and they'll spend inordinate amounts of time together tucked away in eddie's room and they'll start to see that they have more in common than they thought and that they kind of had each other all wrong, and eddie will put his hand over steve's to help him get the placement for a tricky chord and it totally won't awaken anything in either of them?? where is it??
ANYWAY, the moment when Amy asks the Teselecta to turn into River, and Mels/Melody/Not-Yet-River realizes that the person everyone has spent this entire episode talking about with care and fondness is actually her, they were talking about her, and then she just stands there tearing up and immediately decides to change the course of her entire life >>>>>>>
I want to reblog things that support Palestine but every time I see someone write "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free" I think of what people have told me about people using that statement as a call for genocide of Israeli people... and as much as I want Palestinian people to be free, I don't think massacring another group of people, many of which have been in Israel their entire lives, is the answer either
The thing that frustrates me so much about the readings of TLOU is how people push their own morality and feelings on it and decide that is what the story was saying and what Joel was thinking or feeling canonically. "Humanity isn't worth saving if it's at the cost of a kid's life" "The cure wouldn't work with what they're describing because scientifically it wouldn't work" etc etc. Joel didn't stop and think about grand morality about saving humanity or not before he did it, he thought of his own feelings about his daughter.
And fiction uses inaccurate science all the time and it's taken at face value as being canon, so to speak. The game said the cure would work, and even if not, Joel had no scientific knowledge. He never once says anything about it not working, or asking or implying he thought it wouldn't. Joel's motives were selfish, it's not some commentary on the morality of killing Ellie to make a cure.
People thought that because it made them feel better about a sad ending, to not have to question if what Joel did was right or totally wrong. I completely understand Joel's actions, I'm not arguing that. I'm just so frustrated how people see the final shot of the game being Ellie looking heartbroken over her trust being utterly betrayed because deep down she KNOWS he was lying, and they go 'woo hoo happy found family ending! Joel is a hero!' and then attack the second game which I honestly really really love.
Soulmates AU in which when your soulmate is in a situation that can result in their death you get to see through their eyes. Like, I don't know how to explain this- it kind of flashes between what you see and what your soulmate sees. You know those edits where there's a scene going on and there's another one faded in the background happening at the same time? Similar to that. The idea is that you get to see what your soulmate sees too, on top of what you're seeing.
Now, this AU but JeanMarco. With Marco asking the others where's Jean, just for him to start seeing a corpse right in front of his eyes not even a second after asking. Seeing through Jean's eyes as he's trying to get hold of that gear and stuff. And once Jean's safe, once it clicks that you know his best friend is his soulmate Marco can't wait for them to graduate so he can you know tell him that.
Then, you know. That happens. And Jean is so fucking confused because he keeps seeing Annie crying, looking down on him. Only when Annie starts getting off the gear, when his soulmate starts moving around trying to get away he starts panicking, starts moving around faster than before. And maybe he's too late. Or maybe he shows up in time and kills the titan. I don't know. That's not where I'm trying to get, but to the second option AKA Marco pulling an UNO reverse on Annie because he's a smart sneaky bastard like that and being like 'Hey you can't kill me, my soulmate will know it was you' which makes her stop trying to take off his gear. Reiner keeps telling her to do it, Bertholdt keeps yelling about that titan coming closer, but Annie... she has seen things, at some point. Flashes of moments that weren't hers, happening right in Trost- right in that moment. And she didn't give them too much thought until that moment, until it got confirmed that it has nothing to do with her titan powers.
'What do you mean by that?' she asks, because she needs to know more. Because she wants to know more. And Marco starts explaining how it works. Tells them that he has found his soulmate, that they will put all the blame on them for his death. Reiner doesn't believe him, keeps insisting that he's playing them around - he, and anyone born and raised on Marley, has never heard of something like that before, it doesn't exist - but Annie tells him to shut up and to let Marco go. Cue to the plot of any fic in which Marco doesn't straight up die after finding up their secret.
Anyway I don't know man, just,,, We need more soulmate aus for JeanMarco. That's an order.
FUCK YOU! FROM NOW ON I WANNA SEE ANIMATED REMAKES
Comics adaptations even. Just to piss y'all off.
I hate it I hate it I hate it. This stupid trend of getting GREAT animated project and just fucking adding living people to it.
BROTHER I DONWANT REAL PEOPLE AND REALISTIC LOOKING DRAGONS. Why should I look at a watered down version of a fictional world (because honey let's be real cgi costs a teeny weeny bit too much) instead of a colorful, LIVING AND BREATHING animated world???? HUH?????
Also fuck remakes. I watched 3 remakes in my entire life and they sucked. Why should I watch something worse... or even just not as good as the original animated thing in teh first place???
I have the ANIMATED masterpiece right here I'm not impressed by your "very important actor playing this role that the original voice actor did better anyway" or your "not as bad as I thought would be cgi".
Seriously I don't get it, I'll be watching an action movie and I imagine at the cooler animated version and there's some boring-ass showrunner zapping through some episodes and going "guys here's what we're gonna ruin with realism next ^w^"
Also in 2 of the 3 remakes I watched they just flattened the characters and made them ✨️morally perfect✨️ and the third one was just the same thing with 2 scenes more that added ✨️NOTHING✨️
Also I find it insulting the existence of a remake in the first place. Like animation isn't enough and is the lesser art and NEEDS to be remade. Like fuck you? Fuck your realism-fetish.
