Kagejitsu understandably got a lot of the hype today, but I’m just as sad to see ikenaikyo end. One of the most underrated shows of the year and one of the cutest romances 😩 gotta read this one for sure. Allen and Charlotte’s story was so sweet and pure. I like the concept of a male character helping a female character stand up for herself and regaining her sense of agency after years of abuse.

Not to mention the diabetes overload in every episode of this. It sucks it aired in such a packed season! Characters like Miacha, Eruca and Natalia were great compliments to the cast and made every episode enjoyable!

I will definitely be reading

My first impressions of 2023 Fall anime season:

- The first ep of My Daughter Left the Nest and Returned an S-Rank Adventurer was pretty cute and wholesome! As long as it doesn’t turn weird, I like I’ll like this story.

- I really enjoyed the 4-episode premiere of Frieren! There’s something melancholic about starting a story at the end of a journey and I like that we’re following Frieren as she retraces her steps but with a new perspective and a new companion. I’m loving the relationship between Frieren and Fern. Excited to see where the story will go!

- The opening scene of the first episode of The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent II gave me the chills! What a way to hook the audience back into the story! The rest of the episode was cute though. It’s nice to see Sei, Albert and the gang again. I’m excited for this new season!

- The first episode of I'm Giving the Disgraced Noble Lady I Rescued a Crash Course in Naughtiness (Ikenaikyo) was so cute!!! It’s a fairly simple story so I can see this being my comfort anime for this season!

- The first episode of The Ancient Magus' Bride S2 Part 2 went by so fast! I’m so happy to return to this story. This part of the College arc is my favorite so I’m excited to see how the anime team will adapt it!

- I really liked the first episode of SHY! A classic hero story but with a shy and introverted girl as the main character? I’m in! I also liked the little twist that happened at the end of the ep! A lot of interesting potential for our hero! Looking forward to more of this story.

- Uma Musume S3 is off to a great start! I loved how each season is focused on different pairs and this time it’s Kitasan Black and Satono Diamond. Can’t wait to see what this season has in store for us!

- The first episode of IM@S Million Live was good! I enjoyed it a lot! I really like Shizuka so far. Mirai reminds me a lot of Kasumi (Bandori) too. I can’t wait to meet all the other characters!

- The first episode of I’m in Love with the Villainess was pretty funny! I loved how unhinged Rae is when it comes to Claire. I just hope the gag won’t be too overused. I’m curious to see where the story will go and how their relationship will develop!

- SPY x FAMILY S2: The long-awaited Bullet-in-Butt date has been animated and it was such a fun episode! I really enjoyed it! I’m so happy that SxF Saturdays are back!

MVPs of this episode goes to Hayamin and the guy who voiced the Red Circus survivor. Hayamin’s range for Yor is fantastic. The pained noises that Yor made really sold the pain that she was in! The Red Circus guy was also very funny! He was so committed haha!

Hmm, i just wasn’t going to class cause i have really serious sleep problems. Like, i can’t sleep at night and i’m already on trazadone which is supposed to help me sleep but doesn’t work right. So james prescribes me ambien too. I tell him my anxiety is going even crazier than usual he prescribes me clonazepam. So now I’m taking ambien, trazadone, and clonazapem for sleep. I’ve always been really overly fatigued during the day but now i just can’t wake up, at all. I am sleeping till five (ball-park) no matter how many alarms i set or when i go to sleep. So i’m sleeping through class and being late for work. So he takes away my clonnie and my PRECIOUS ambien, and now i’m on Laraxpem? lonazepam? And i’m actually not tired all day again! But i am not falling asleep at night 🙃 and also, i am still way too fatigued way too early in the day (i woke up at 1:00 and i was dead tired by 7:00). ANYWAYS. I might do a sleep study soon so. We’ll see how it goes.

Every so often, we make it to the final volume of a light novel or manga and have to say goodbye. Today, we bid adieu to Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible as VIZ Media releases the final volume of the series. It was a cute, fun manga that really found its voice a few volumes into the run. We halfway through the fall season of anime so here’s my current impressions of the shows I’m watching right now:

SHY: I’m enjoying the show a lot but the obvious limitations of its animation is hindering the story from standing out more. Sadly, this has become a common issue with anime adaptations lately.

Uma Musume S3: this show continues to be a good time! Great balance between character development and sports drama. Kitasan Black and Satono Diamond’s friendship and rivalry will be interesting to watch going forward from now!

Dr. STONE: NEW WORLD S2 Part 2: this current arc might be my favourite season/story arc so far! Every ep has me on the edge of my seat. I also love the emotional moments between the characters.

The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent S2: this show is such an underrated gem! S2 has been so, so good! A much-needed slice of life goodness this season. The noticeable improvement on the animation production made me very happy too!

I'm Giving the Disgraced Noble Lady I Rescued a Crash Course in Naughtiness: another feel good anime this season. Every ep has been very cute!

My Daughter Left the Nest and Returned an S-Rank Adventurer: this show is a lot of fun! Nothing groundbreaking but I do enjoy a good father-daughter story.

Frieren: one of the stand out shows of the season. Might be an unpopular opinion but I prefer episodes focusing on Frieren, Fern and Stark’s journey rather than action-focused eps (not that those aren’t good too).

The IDOLM@STER Million Live!: I’m enjoying this show! I still can’t remember most of the girls’ names (there’s just too many) but I enjoy their interactions!
