I still think a lot about Festen parallels, with Michael and Helene both being ostracized within the family and him specifically sent away to boarding school so they wouldn't find out about Christian and Linda being abused, and as much as Roman does also have in common with Christian I feel like you can really see a lot of that dynamic in how Kendall is set apart and isolated from his siblings. There's a kind of tragic irony to the distance between them and not understanding each other's pain.
ive never seen festen (it looks super interesting, tho, i'll have to add it to my watchlist) so i cant speak on that, but yes! kendall is undeniably super isolated both emotionally and oftentimes physically from his siblings. i actually just read that new yorker article about jeremy, where they talk about how he isolates himself from the rest of the cast even when theyre not shooting in order to get in character skdkdkkd
i think a lot of it has to do with being the eldest son (barring connor lmao); kendall is the one up for ceo in the first episode, and all three siblings seem to accept and expect that outcome. being raised as the successor, being treated as the strongest dog, would just inherently emotionally separate you from the "weaker dogs". for all the trauma the siblings share from growing up in the same household, kendalls may have been a different flavor, one that roman especially wouldnt be able to understand very well.
also, i do think logan works towards kendalls isolation as well, especially once he has the waiter thing as leverage

Tiny lil Chester ficlet, this time when he and Peach decide to have a baby! Is it canon? Dunno yet, but it cute, so whatever!
~~~♡♡♡~~~
Peach sat up in her hospital bed one night, exhausted but happy, cradling the small bundle in her arms.
She could hardly believe that it had already been over 9 months since she and Chester decided to have a baby. It was a bit of a shock to Peach when Chester suggested IVF when she was thinking out loud about how it'd be nice to have a child with him. She thought that he hated children, but with how he acted around her son Connor, playing the 'ghost hunting' game and the look in his eyes when he saw Connor asleep, she shouldn't have been that surprised. He never would admit what he wanted, anyways.
Turned out that even though Chester was sterile, he did have sperm, but his condition made it so only a small few sperm cells could be developed. All they had to do was isolate one, have it implanted into an egg, and boom, baby. Thank God for that humanizing potion, because ghost ectoplasm is not the same as human semen.
Peach remembered running into Chester's lab and showing him the positive pregnancy test and how happy they both were. He just hugged her real close, kissing her repeatedly, with the sweetest smile on his face.
Now the little one was here, fast asleep and perfectly healthy. Peach fixed the child's soft but messy brown hair and wiped the excess spit-up from the lower left corner of their lip, right where a small beauty mark was dotted. Peach then felt a gentle breeze coming from the open window. She smiled as she turned toward it, knowing what it meant.
He was here.
Chester appeared and he almost lost his composure when he saw the sight of his wife holding their newborn child in her arms. He was able to control himself and simply smile as he walked up to Peach and kissed her head. "How are you feeling?" "I'm alright, just tired is all. We should be released some time tomorrow." "Sorry I couldn't make it in time.." "It's okay, Ches. I'm not mad. I'm just glad you're here at all." He smiled then looked at the slumbering child. "Which is it?" Peach smiled as she said, "It's a girl."
A girl. He had a daughter.
He just couldn't help but watch the child sleep. Peach chimed in, "Doesn't she look just like you? She has your hair, nose, and even the beauty mark on her lower lip." "I can see that, let's hope that doesn't attract tons of boys trying to interrupt her experiments." "Chester, she's free to do as she pleases, you know that." He always tried to persuade Peach to let their child be his apprentice, but while Peach found that idea cute, she wanted the child to choose their own path. Chester begrudgingly replied, "Yeah, I know... You made sure they got the name correct, right?" "Yep! Lucille Robin Killmonger. I had Corn come pretend to be the dad so not to raise any suspicion." "Good. Hope he didn't cause any trouble." "Well, when I was pushing, he got real pale, then puked, then he passed out. So I'd say he handled it okay for the most part." "Figured. Wouldn't be shocked if that caused a flashback. Was he okay when he got up?" "Yeah. He was happy to see little Lucy once she was cleaned up."
She noticed Chester just staring at the baby and Peach knew right away that he was infatuated with her. "Do you wanna hold her?" Chester started to blush and said, "N-No.." "At least touch her, dear. You are her father, after all." Chester looked at little Lucy and slowly reached his hand out, gently caressing her cheek with his finger. The baby started to stir and cry a bit because of the cold, causing Chester to immediately grab the bundle from Peach and hold the child in his arms, rocking her back and forth while walking towards the armchair next to the bed and sitting in it. He started to say in a soft and gentle voice, "Shshshsh, it's alright, angel. Papa's here. I'm sorry for waking you up. You can go back to sleep." But it was too late, the infant started to wake up, wriggling her hands out of her blanket and opening her eyes. Once they were open, she stared directly at Chester and just stared. It was almost a look of wonder in the child's eyes. Chester was too busy marveling at the sight of her crystal blue eyes, just like her mother's, to notice. Then the baby started to reach out for him. He didn't know what to do, so he put his fingertip on her tiny palm and she latched onto his finger. It was a good thing Chester was never too cold to touch, otherwise the little girl probably would've gotten frostbite.
Then she smiled.
That did it. That made it hit for him that he was this child's father and that this was his daughter he was holding, his baby girl. He was a father.
Tears immediately poured from Chester's face. He held Lucy closer and just cried, ignoring what Peach's reaction would be to it. Meanwhile, Peach was crying alongside him, her heart filled with joy over everything, Chester's wholesome reactions to their child crying, the fact that Lucy wasn't afraid of her father, and the fact that one of her dreams with Chester had come true.
The next morning, Peach was able to leave with Lucy and meet up with Chester at the house and they could finally start their new life together, as a family.
