Just a little exercise.. right?
TLDR - I’m newly on meds and my heart. Well she doesn’t seem to like them. I did three rounds of 20 squats. After trying to get her to calm down (spoliers she didn’t) I laid down. This caused an immediate extreme drop. I then did a push which brought her into the 60s. I don’t think she threw any pvcs but you be the judge.

If you saw my intro post you would know that I’ve recently been prescribed dexadrine. Dexadrine is an amphetamine that can raise blood pressure and heart rate. In my other post I thought it was high time I tested my Heart’s response to these meds. I know she’s been a lot more poundy and faster than normal but.. I thought I would do some of my own tests.
Firstly was tracking her all night with a chest strap monitor. I followed this up with taking my meds before getting out of bed and waiting for them to kick in. The result was exactly in the small range they said it should be. So my faster rate is clearly the meds and my heart working against gravity.
I’ve been looking into if exercising on meds is safe. There are split opinions if you should do it after / before or if you can do it while medication is in your system. I decided to try a small run. Let me preface this with a couple of years ago I was a runner. My heart always was reactive and fast to exercise but not like what happened here.
So imagine. I’ve put on my workout gear. Taped my Stemoscope to the loudest part of chest and go into the room with the treadmill. I set up my chest strap monitor with the treadmill. Perfect.. she’s beating at 142 and I haven’t done anything. I start the Stemoscope recording. 2 mins standing with her pounding away - not yet exercising. Ok this is gonna be fun. At 2 mins jump on at a brisk walk. She immediately drops to 113 - no there’s not wrong with the monitor. I can hear her. Then she slowly climbs. 117, 124, 131 and back to 142 and beyond. Within 1 1/2 mins we’re at 156. I’m not tired or out of breath but I also know I probably shouldn’t do this for long so I think- ok let’s try max her out. I break into a jog. Nothing like I used to, but a slow recovery run. She’s climbing and fast. Within a short space of time she’s now in the beating at 182 - I usually couldn’t feel beats like this before but I can feel her rocking my chest. I’m oddly out of breath for something I used to be able to sustain for over an hour. I jump off and bend over, trying to catch my breath. My heart thrashing in both my chest and my ears. My head spinning as I try to get her oxygen. I’m watching the number on the treadmill with the little heart next it. It’s not going down. It’s going up. At 187 she peaks and is pounding away. This is 2 mins after ceasing activity. She drop quite quickly.. not this time I guess.
I grab my gear and go back to my room. She’s settled a little bit. She keeps calming down then speeding back up. Down to 151 then up to 176. She’s all over the place like she doesn’t know what she’s meant to do.
Well that’s enough. I need to take some stress off her. I lay down, resulting in an immediate drastic drop to around 100. Finally. The break she needed. I go back to the recording… and we’ll I deleted in my zoned out state.
So this time I’ve recorded some squats. I was only able to get her into the 170s but you can hear just how unconditioned she sounds. This was not what she like pre meds and I will be asking my doctor about this when I see him next (well maybe leave out the constant stething).
A part of me is slightly worried about this, whereas another part of me is like…. Oooo well. That’s a fun sound . Damn cardiophile thoughts right?

about the 10/19 update:
reminder: criticism is okay but do not be hateful, or send PB or anyone hate.
so, apparently a lot of players are really mad right now. the CN players pointed out PB's lack of transparency in their emergency maintenance notice. they pointed out that they were reducing store benefits while increasing exchange prices. to some players, they feel like PB is turning WHB into a cash cow.
additionally, allegedly some people have lost money from the shop passes where if you had previously made a purchase, you would have to pay again since PB had made adjustments to the rewards 😭 also they've also hidden the old levelling reward in shop passes according to this tweet. overall, it's super confusing so i'll just leave this topic as it is.
honestly, i do understand that PB needs to earn money to pay their employees but i think the way they package their bundles and paid gems are terrible and just doesn't seem to be worth the money.
for their 113+7 gems pack i can't even afford 1 lesser key, whereas for around the same amount of money i can spend it on arknights's monthly card which gives 11 pulls or genshin's welkin pass which gives 16 pulls.
so i just come to the simple conclusion that i'm going to stay f2p. it's just not worth it if i can spend it on a different game and get more. it's not a big deal for me as long as banners eventually get rerun ahahah
some were also upset about no maintenance compensation which i think is fair because the maintenance would usually have some sort of compensation in exchange for their player base not being able to play/grind during that time period. i feel like PB could have gave guilty gems, lesser keys, or solomon's tears. or even gold/books or jelly or any of the upgrade materials that is difficult to farm for right now. or even pies which is even more difficult to collect than tears atm.
there should also be compensation for those who have lost their money through this update :')
there were also some criticism regarding how they "fixed" the store instead of the bugs. not only that but more bugs appeared such as some units are now unable to be deployed after the update or how the secret shop's vortex will appear every time you log in but the shop itself never appears.
the more common topic at hand is the solomon tears. some players have argued that this is what you're supposed to expect when you are an f2p player. however, i would like to also argue that it shouldn't take months to fully max a single character— which includes promotion, skills (2 for most, 3 for L-tiers) and unholy board (for L-tiers).
reminder that this game is eventually going to have 80 casts (or more if they add the angels and humans like obey me has done) in the future. that is a lot of characters and they will each have different copies and versions of each of them in the future too.
using arknights as an example, that game is farmable for f2p players like myself. i never spent money on arknights but i was able to upgrade multiple characters much faster which is good for tower defense games where you need to strategise with different characters. albeit WHB is easier in that aspect of strategy, it still doesn't change how it is definitely a little more challenging in WHB to build characters.
though, i can also go on the other side and argue that perhaps PB didn't mean for us to speedrun the content either.
i'm personally okay with grinding and being patient as long as the event stages are reasonable and can be cleared without very high difficulties.
also i'm also personally okay if their gacha banners have a reasonable pacing and pity system. since that is my personal main concern as a gacha addict :p
though, seeing all the others' feedbacks also kind of influenced me a bit and made me skeptical of PB. this single update kind of made me look at them in a different light and not the positive kind 😅
but!! they still have another update on 10/25 so i guess we'll just have to see how that one goes. maybe there will be improvements? who knows. i'm just praying for the better because i do enjoy this game so far and want it to do well in the future too 🙏

Alright who wants to hear my thought process on how old TriMax Wolfwood is (jk illusion of free choice, but I will put it under a cut because it's long and a lotta math<3)
So to start off, let me first say I updated the timeline I posted (it's the same post, but I swapped out the images and updated the notes. I said I wouldn't touch it again and yet I'm still thinking about it almost 48 hours later AND doing SAT -esque math about it /sob)
Let me also say: I'm so bad at guesstimating ages, not like manga in general makes ages easy to guess but also yeah I don't actually know what a 9 year old looks like off the top of my head so there's definitely some bias here.... BUT ANYWHO
We're gonna go off of these key events:
Wolfwood leaving the orphanage
Wolfwood taking care of and reuniting with Maylene
To start: we know that Wolfwood left the orphanage 6 years ago, he returns during the year of PE 0114. So he left in the year of PE 0108
When Wolfwood reunites with Maylene he's "older" so he's undergone all the drugs and experimentation etc etc so that means the timeframe in which he reunites with Maylene would have to fall between PE 0108 and PE 0114. I'd er on the side of 109 and 112, seeing as for 113/114 he's traveling with Vash or helping the Ark invasion, so unless he randomly fucked off for a spell during that time he probably didn't see Maylene then. Ruling out 108 for similar reasons since I'm sure he'd be too busy training with the EoM within the year to go see her.
So, establishing PE 0112 as the latest point in time they can reunite: Maylene looks anywhere between 12-16 years old. (at ABSOLUTE minimum I'd say 10, and ABSOLUTE maximum, 17. She seems about the same age as Lina, and Lina is confirmed 12 years old but "looks older". She's not older than 18 because that would put her birth year in 0094, which would make her only 4 years younger than Meryl, and Meryl was 18 when Wolfwood left the orphanage, which would mean Maylene was 14 and would put Wolfwood at like 19 minimum when he left. More on that later)
So establishing Maylene's age range, that would put her birth year anywhere from PE 0095- 0102 When Wolfwood first meets Maylene she's a baby, at most a year old. For the sake of the argument, we'll stick with her being younger than that (making the earliest they could have met 0095). Wolfwood can't be more than 5 at that point, as that'd put him at the same age as Meryl, which would make him 18 when he left the orphanage (which doesn't seem correct) Personally, I think Wolfwood looks between 6 at absolute minimum and 10 at max.
So using the above time frames and the year Wolfwood left the orphanage (0108):
0095 at 5 years old mean's he'd be 18
0102 at 5 years old means he'd be 11
0102 at 10 years old means he'd be 16
0095 at 10 not possible, next possible year would be 0100 which would make him 18 (which again seems far fetched)
So let's lay this out: (year met Maylene : age left orphanage)
At 5 years old: 96: 17 | 97:16 | 98: 15 | 99:14 | 100: 13 | 101:12 | 102:11
At 6 years old: 97: 17 | 98:16 | 99: 15 | 100:14 | 101: 13 | 102:12
At 7 years old: 98: 17 | 99:16 | 100: 15 | 101:14 | 102: 13
At 8 years old: 99: 17 | 100:16 | 101: 15 | 102:14
At 9 years old: 99: 18 | 100:17 | 101: 16 | 102:15
At 10 years old: 100: 18 | 101:17 | 102: 16
This is where the bias sets in:
When Wolfwood leaves the orphanage he doesn't look any older than 14 to me or any younger than 11 ( I personally read him in the 12-13 range, he could also just be a very runty teenager, which would be hilarious, but yeah I don't think so.) I also don't think anybody younger than 6 should be taking care of a baby, So we're gonna rule out anything that places him outside of that range which leaves us with this:
At 6 years old: 100:14 | 101: 13 | 102:12
At 7 years old: 101:14 | 102: 13
At 8 years old: 102:14
Using the min and max years and ages compared to where in the timeline Wolfwood's last fight is (6 years later) that would place him in the age bracket of 18 at youngest and 20 at oldest (give or take a year if you wanna be picky about it). Which means when he first meets Vash he's only 16-18/////
(And if you're like me and don't like the idea of Maylene being any younger than 12, then that means 0100 is the year and that would make Wolfwood 20 years old but that may be overly biased and again I think he’s younger than 14 when he leaves the orphanage. I also still don't think maylene looks like a 12 year old. If we assume she was actually a year old when she met Wolfwood that’d make her 13 tho)

113.6 lbs today and this is officially my lowest weight since probably 4th-6th grade . it's so wierd since i'm out of high school to see that me at 18 weighs less than when I was a child . I feel really proud of myself for the work I put in to get here though !
hoping to be low 113's - high/min 112's tomorrow , if I keep following what i've been doing (small snack after 12 pm , max 500 cal dinner) then I think I can reach my next gw of 110 quicker than I thought !
I feel way more motivated now with my wl journey since yesterday I had pizza rolls AND pizza but still lost more than half a pound !
still not sure with my ugw , I saw one of my mutuals on 3dtwt is around my height and is 95-100 lbs rn so I think that may be what i'd like to achieve . It's so wierd to think that I'm more than half way there .
feeling so proud !! I feel healthier , I feel prettier , and I feel great :-)

About two and a bit years ago? Just when Liyue was released I think. My coworker was really into it and twisted my arm. I was more inclined when I knew I could play it on PS because fuck playing on mobile what am I an ant? We still talk about it together to this day even though she's moved away.

Pants on the women (Arlecchino being the first is mystifying). Seriously, get rid of most of the damn puzzles and ~special mechanics~, sometimes they just take away from the actual gameplay because they're distracting. They fixed the map, so that was my other main qualm.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I actually have no idea. Maybe Shitou because he's a SHYSTER.

Yes. I am not a spoiler-free zone, except for the Archon and Story Quests and Hangouts. Builds, characters etc is all free game, I need to know who to save for, mate!

Reminded of this in light of the latest crit recap animated; if you think about it, based on the little bits of description we got of her undead appearance in episodes 112-113 (pale-ish skin, dark clotted blood), Avantika would reasonably have had to have been raised from the dead by Uk’otoa within literal days of dying. Like in the single digits, like maybe 3-4 max.
Not to get too deep into the icky details but within a week or two a decomposing body is an unrecognizable mess, and within a few weeks to months it’s largely become skeletal already, especially out in the open in a hot, humid climate like Darktow. I'd imagine it's in no way the environment that'd produce a well-preserved mummy.
I'm pretty sure if probed about it Matt probably doesn’t conceive of her having been raised until like at the earliest after Fjord broke his pact or possibly even after the other warlocks attacked on the way to Rumblecusp but also the thought she’s left to rot away for months on a pike feels undeservedly cruel and makes me slightly sick to my stomach no offense so I choose to go with the decomposition-timeline-appropriate shorter period because it also has some amusing implications.
Jester messaging the Plank King about how things have been going and him deciding either that the corpse of the captain he executed straight-up just walking off of her pike and vanishing into the night recently (possibly after going up to his roost to collect her magical weapons) was either too insane to tell the voice in his head or just stuff that happens in Darktow on the regular.
Uk'otoa raised Avantika weeks before Fjord arrived at the second temple to undo the second seal. Maybe Uk'otoa already didn't trust Fjord to actually do it and had her on standby, or Uk'otoa in a shocking twist is actually a good bro who takes care of his loyal warlocks within the limits of his capabilities, or maybe he simply went "oh this is going to be fucking hilarious some day"
Perhaps Uk'otoa didn't send her to attack in episode 98 because he'd already sent Avantika to swim all around Wildemount to the Frigid Depths and Eisselcross on a hunch (rather than oceanic teleporting) and it simply took 6+ months to swim there because it's about 1500-2000 miles distance in open ocean. Heck as an untiring undead maybe she did a few laps around the continent.

i know max is supposed to be ronance's child but i cant help but see her as steddie's kid. like steve is the babysitter, he's always with the kids and he was there the first time vecna got max, and he knows about her relationship with billy and how complicated it is. he's protected her from him and took her to visit his grave. he's also the only big kid who got a letter. so i imagine he became like a brotherly figure in her life, being who billy should have been.
eddie and max both live in the trailer park, so i'd imagine sometimes she'd go over to his trailer, or eddie would come to hers to check on her. he'd teach her how to play guitar and she'd show him how to skateboard. i can imagine them working on cars together (bc i am a mechanic!eddie truther), and eating dinner together & getting to have the siblings they always wanted.
and bc it's me, every single one of my hc's include steddie, once steve and eddie start dating, everything kinda combines and they are protective & close with max in a different way than dustin and a different way than the other kids.
anyways!!!! my point being, max deserves brothers who love her & protect her.

steve telling his students (teacher!steve, so true) about his super sweet and caring husband and they all think it's just some average, boring dude. and they find out that the guy who irons mr. harrington's clothes every morning and adopted 3 kittens so the siblings wouldn't be separated, is a rock musician, with tattoos all over his arms and is wearing a shirt that says sum shit like "the devil was an angel too" when he comes in for career day.
alternatively, eddie telling his bandmates about how super cool and tough his husband is & then one day some guy in a baby blue polo and pressed slacks shows up before their show to give eddie a specific pick and a kiss on the cheek and eddies band mates are like..........that's him? that's the guy who bit the head off a bat and hit billy hargrove with his car?

Water in the upside down isn’t there, not with the lake in season four being drained and the pool with barb not having water in it. There’s something going on there. In season three Erica says’ “the human body needs water or it will die.” Season three also has the rain fight in it. In season four mike and wills heart to heart before the shootout has mike positioned in front of wills jaws poster. During the shootout Will is in front of a painting of the ocean/some body of water. When Will coughs up the demogorgon slug he turns the tap on first. El goes into a sensory deprivation tank and in season one and four there are specific shots of people filling it with water with a hose.
In season one they thought Will drowned in a lake. Mike tried to jump off a cliff into a lake. El screamed at her reflection in a pond.
Everyone is always damp in the upside down despite there being no water anywhere.
How did Will survive a week without water? Why is there literally a watergate? Why does that gate part at the end like the sea? Why does El walk on water when she’s in the sensory deprivation tank/searching for people? Why is fire what they need to defeat Vecna? Why are there tracks on the score with the word snow in them? Why in season three does Lucas drink all their water?

OKAY SO- holy shit this might be something.
In light of the current discussion of the cabin scene and thinking it could be from mikes POV, I raise you the possibility that we’ve actually been in Mike’s perspective more than we think.
Starting with Mikes first appearance; when he’s reading el’s letter. He’s reading her letter. It could have been el writing it the whole time but no. The events being narrated are what mike is seeing and what he isn’t seeing. It’s not el telling him, it’s what he’s seeing and what he’s not.
Next: the apology. I’m saving my pictures here because I’ve got a lot to discuss a little later but, if you look at that scene I’ll bet that Will is in the light. And if you look at the car scene, I’ll bet the same thing. And the triple take. And will painting in els letter. Will is always in the light somehow. And mike is only in the light with him (from what I’ve seen so far) when he apologizes and they actually talk.
But to the main thing here, the van scene. I was watching being differnt + you’re the heart when I noticed this. I’ve been thinking that it looked more like mikes POV than wills but I couldn’t pinpoint why exactly until we started talking about light.

“I thought that if I tried hard enough- if I was going to fall in love with a girl it would be El.”
Lucas looks at Mike. He’s staring off into the distance. Blinking eyes and shuddering breathes. Lucas doesn’t know what to do.
So he lets him talk. It sounds like he’s needed to for a while.
“But it didn’t-,” Mike’s voice cracks and he looks at Lucas with a plea in his eyes. “It didn’t work.”
Oh.
“I- I’m-. I think- I’m,” Mike looks away again, and Lucas watches him try to force words through his lips that he really doesn’t have to.
Lucas has known Mike and Will for too long to not know what this is about.
Mike starts to tremble, tears battling their way out of his eyes, and Lucas hugs him. When they pull away, Lucas starts to talk.
“Mike, you’re my best friend… and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t notice some things.”
Mike looks at him with wide eyes, “what?”
Lucas smiles, “you and Will, man. You’ve always been different with Will.”
“Oh… You noticed that?”
“Hard not to… but I think I finally started to understand when you made me bike all the way across town in a rainstorm to apologize to him. When really, it was just you who was apologizing.”
Mike glares at Lucas.
“And thinking about it now, you’ve always been way too protective of him. And a lot nicer to him than you are to anyone else in the party,” Lucas is on a roll now, there are years worth memories finally starting to make sense. Mikes never going to live this one down.
“Hey, wait a minute-.”
“And it’s always been Mike and Will, and then the party. Because apparently you two are just a package deal and then there’s me and Dustin and Max and even El. Like that used to make me feel like you two thought you were better than us… but it makes more sense knowning that…”
“…That I’m in love with him?” Mike admits quietly.
“Yeah. Knowing that you’ve been in love with him this whole time, man-.”
“-wait I thought you were done-.”
“Nope, this will never be over. I have years worth of this shit man. Years.”
“Oh, fuck.”
Lucas laughs.
Mike’s tone changes from lighthearted back to how it was closer to the start of their conversation, “I didn’t expect this to go well. I just needed to tell someone because I kinda felt like I was going to die if I didn’t. So, thank you for not… I don’t even know.”
“Hey, I’m sorry that I made you think that this could’ve gone badly. I-,” Lucas stops, remembering things from years ago. And remembering the look on Mike’s face. “Shit, man, I’m sorry that I was such a dick to you about El.”
“It’s fine. I probably deserved it. It wasn’t I wasn’t being a dick to you too.”
“Still, Mike. This is different.”
“Yeah, it is. I am.”
“…do you think Will is too?”
Mike stares at him, “what? No? I don’t know? Probably not. Why?”

Bob could count on one hand the number of days he considered to be the best of his life. The day he graduated from the Naval Academy, the day he met (Y/N), their wedding day, and the day the twins were born.
Maisy Jane and Franklin Max were born about 2 weeks ago, after a long and stressful labor for both parents.
Since the twins had been earthside, Bob doesn’t think he’s had a dry eye for more than an hour or he was asleep. It had been a whirlwind of emotions, from the terrifying moment (Y/N)’s water broke a few weeks early, to being at the hospital, and each anticipating moment until they could hold their babies for the first time. They had decided to wait on finding out the genders of the twins, deciding on picking out a variety of names to choose from. The Dagger Squad had even come to the Floyd residence to help put together the nursery, where Bob stood right now.
He often found himself standing above the crib, just watching the babies in awe, and wondering how he got so lucky.
“Hi, sweet girl.” He said, reaching down and stroking Maisy’s cheek with his pointer finger, gently as if she was made of glass. She rustled slightly in her sleep, a soft groan sounding from her tiny body. Bob let out a soft chuckle before turning to his son, who laid on the other side of the divider in the crib. Franklin was laid in a similar position to his sister, and seemed to let out a groan in response to hers. Smiling to himself, Bob knew he’d have his hands full with these two.
But he wouldn’t want it any other way. He felt a pair of hands slide around his waist and a pair of lips on his neck, the sweet giggle of his wife like music to his ears.
“I could watch them sleep all day. They’re so tiny, Bobby.” she whispered.
“I know, mama. Only going to get bigger from here, though.” He replied, which earned him a small smack to the stomach.
“Let me enjoy them while they’re this little, Robert.” (Y/N) scolded jokingly. “Can you believe we made them? Like, they’re two living breathing humans that I carried inside me for 8 months.”
“It’s wild to think, darlin. I’ve waited for them since the moment you told me we were having ‘em. Two little products of our love. Can’t get better than that, huh?” Bob spoke sweetly, turning his head to meet his wife’s eyes.
(Y/N) responded by tilting her head upwards to kiss her husband, uttering a soft I love you, before they were broken apart by the waking babies.
As he scooped his bleary eyed daughter into his arms, ready to start the day, Bob was grateful for whatever he did in a past life to earn the one he had right now.
He used to always think (Y/N) would be the only love of his life. But that all changed the second Maisy and Franklin came into the picture. Bob always dreamed of starting his own version of a Floyd family growing up, and to have that be true in this moment with those 3? He was the luckiest man in the world.

~ it all started one of the very first nights at The Hard Deck. already unamused with the pissing contest between hangman and rooster, you've stuck to phoenix's side as you've flown with her before but aren't paired together for this mission
~ you've heard of her backseater's reputation, and were eager to meet him. someone at your level, who understands the role and loves it just as much as you do. and by the looks of it, he looked like he might be different from the male pilots you've worked with in the past

~ bob makes your life a living hell. he makes it a point to criticize every little thing you do, and soon enough it became a battle to see who the better wizzo would be.
~ "god, you're fucking insufferable. you really can't keep your mouth shut, can you? you're clogging the damn radio Yankee." he spat. "Bob." Phoenix piped in, but was ignored as you responded. "I've got to get Coyote's attention somehow, asshole. back off."
~ the rest of the squad is used to your bantering, but it never went passed jabs at each others abilities, or other meaningless characteristics.
~ none of it went unnoticed by phoenix, though. she could see right through the snide remarks and icy glares. she knows you. she remembers the blush that crossed your face the first time you laid eyes on bob, and she remembers the way your face fell after his joke went over your head.
~ she knows bob. she knows that he thinks highly of you and is impressed with your work. and that he has the dryest sense of humor known to man, and that he thought you were stuck up after you didn't laugh at his joke.
~ she sees the longing glances bob gives you when you aren't looking. the ones where he stares at you, laughing with fanboy, in that beautiful sundress that flows so perfectly around your curves. and he's angry with how beautiful you look, and how happy you are in that moment, and he's angry because he wonders why can't i be like that with her
~ he wasn't good with feelings. and you were mean to him, so he was mean back. but maybe one night he takes it too far.
~ you've mentioned in passing and in group that your parents struggle with your line of work, and it's taken a toll on your relationship with them. so after a long day of flying and picking fights with each other, you're both exhausted. and of course that tiredness turns to anger, and anger is an emotion you and bob know best with each other.
~ bob's fed up. fed up with himself, and flying, and mav's drills, and you. it's always you.
~ "god after missing that target, it’s no wonder your parents aren’t proud of you” he regrets it as soon as he says it. a surprised "woah" is elicited by rooster, as you stop in your tracks. “you’re a real asshole, floyd” you say, voice shaky, before you turn on your heel and dart away.
~ phoenix grabs bob's arm, pulling him back as the rest of the pilots move along. "what the fuck was that, bob? you know, this little rivaly you and yankee had was cute at first, but it's gotten out of hand lately. coming for her like that? brining her parents into it when you know what their relationship is like? that's a low blow. especially coming from you. you need to take some time and think about whatever this little thing means, because its obvious you've got something else going on." she says, leaving him standing on the tarmac. he waits there for a minute, ashamed. bob feels his jaw twitch before he heads back inside
~ he knows he has to man up and apologize. he didn't mean it, he was frustrated. frustrated with his feelings, and the mission. but his words shoot to kill when he's mad. he has a lot of regrets about that. (thank u to jay for killing me with that)
~ the next day, as he plans to apologize to you, he approaches with caution. he waits for you to say something, anything, but the moment never comes. you don't say a word to him, just leave him with a second long look, full of pain and something else he can't place.
~ it goes on like this for the next few days. no more snide remarks, scowls, or fighting. just stolen glances that don’t go unnoticed by your teammates.
~ in between drills, bob walked past an empty classroom put paused when he heard your voice.
~ “i thought he was different, javy. i don’t know. i’ll get over it.”
~ bob couldn’t help but feel yet another pant of jealousy. he knew you were talking about him. and to confide that in coyote? you were a lot closer than he thought, and he felt stupid for how much he hated that.
~ he decided to stay on base a little later than usual that night, catching up on some reading and drill planning. as he was packing up his bag, he heard some yelling, a loud clatter, and a scream that sounded all too familiar. running into the hallway, he bounced his head around until he found the site of the incident. his heart dropped to his stomach as he spotted you, crouched against the wall, shaking, blood dripping down your face mixing with the tears that were also falling. there was broken glass next to you, a shattered frame. he ran faster than his feet could take him, stumbling before he landed on the ground next to you.
~ startled, you look up through teary eyes to see the last person you’d expect to come to your rescue. bob looks at you with an expression you can’t decipher, one of concern mixed with rage. he reached gently to wipe your tears, uttering a soft, “who did this to you?”
~ "no one, just some new recruits ran by and knocked me into the wall, the picture fell down and hit me on the way. i'm fine." you said, breathily. "no, you're not or you wouldn't be crying and bleeding. let me help you." bob said, standing up and reaching his hand down to help you up. rolling your eyes, you took his hand to stand up, ignoring the fluttering in your tummy as your hand clasped his.

There were 3 things that (Y/N) loved more than anything. Her cat, her fiance Bob, and sleep. She loved sleep. And those close to her knew not to mess with her when she was tired, or about to go to sleep.
So when she awoke at 2 am to the sound of her phone ringing, she was not happy. reaching out from under the blanket, she grabbed her phone to see who dared try to reach her at an ungodly hour. Upon seeing the caller ID, she came to remember.
Oh fuck.
If Rooster was calling her at this hour tonight, something must've happened.
"Hello? 'S the matter Rooster?" She mumbled, voice full of sleep and concern.
"Hey, (Y/N)? Look, I know how much you hate being bothered during the night, and I'm really sorry, but none of us can get him to move." Bradley said with a sigh.
"The fuck are you talking about? What do you mean you can't get him to move?" (Y/N) questioned.
"Well, we're trying to call the uber to take us home, and uh, we might have let Bob drink too much. He's refusing to get off the curb unless you come get him. He punched Hangman in the balls and said he's not getting into a lady's car unless it's yours."
Bradley could hear (Y/N) groan and mumble something under her breath. Then he heard a little bit of rustling before she spoke. "He's lucky I love him. I'll see you soon, can you airdrop me your location?"
Rooster chuckled, "Copy that, Missus. Sorry again."
"Don't apologize for my fiance's drunk simping, Roo."
About 15 minutes later, a bleary eyed Bob was having a heated argument with what he thought was Hangman, who had since been picked up, before he was torn from the conversation by a yawning Rooster.
"Hey, Bobby boy. Ride's here." Bradley told him with a light forehead slap.
"Wha?" Bob replied, before coming face to face with his fiancee.
"Jesus, Bobby. How many drinks have you had?" (Y/N) giggled, trying to hold up Bob as he stumbled into her arms.
"I don't know baby, but boy, I had such a great night. I know it was a bachelor party but I wish you were here, honey, and they tried to get me to go in some lady's car and I said I won't do that I'm only loyal to one person and she's waiting for me at home, my best girl, and now you're here!" Bob rambled, as (Y/N) and Rooster helped him get into the car.
"Thanks again for calling me, Bradley. I'm sorry he's such a dope."
"No problem at all, (Y/N). He loves you a lot, you know. I'm glad guys are getting hitched." He replied with a smile.
"Yeah, I love him too I guess." She joked, "You need a ride?" Nah, I'm only a block away. See you later, kid."
As she climbed back into her car, Bob was going off on a tangent about something she couldn't quite understand.
"I love you so much, you know that (Y/N)?" He said much clearer, his hand reaching over to grab her free one.
"I know, baby, I love you too. You tired?" She said, glancing over at him.
He was unable to answer, as he had fallen asleep just as fast as she had asked the question.

i identify as ‘queer’ if i have to put a label on it, but i also think that sexuality is a construct and who cares about labels. if you wanna fuck people of same / various genders then that’s between you and the person you wanna fuck (or just date or kiss or whatver the fuck) you shouldn’t have to have a label or a ‘sexuality’.

i lived in Vietnam for 18 months a couple years ago which was rad.
i use terms like rad.
i constantly call people pet names which confuses them, especially when i call them baby. i find it amusing.
i’m very comfortable in my body, something i have worked hard to get too. i went from being super insecure but now i love myself and like to show myself and my pudge off.
I don’t shave. though, every 5 or so month i shave my pits but that’s a hygiene thing. sometimes i shave my legs at the same time, but that’s out of boredom and because why not? i often come to regret it.
have commitment issues when it comes to relationships but crave a long term love so bad.
have terrible baby fever. would definitely baby sit anyones kids for free, though if they offer to pay im obviously taking it.
am teaching myself guitar. i’m making it very hard for myself.
honestly, i think i have ADHD but only because just about every person i have ever met has straight up asked me if i have it… or people with ADHD have come up to me assuming i have it and spiked a conversation about it. but we’re not gonna bring it up with health care professionals, we don’t need a diagnosis right now.
compulsive spender. money is a construct to me. it’s just a number i see on my phone screen. though, i constantly complain about how broke i am.
not the best with social cues, literally, your gonna have to tell me something directly if you want me to know. if you try to hint your feelings, whatver they may be, im not gonna get it.
sarcasm queen. use humour as a coping mechanism.

wore a suit to grad. was sexy af. had all the gay girlies panicking.
shaved my head 2 years ago. it boosted my confidence so much. it was right after a breakdown but i had my mums support so it’s cool. i was hot.

i forget to pee a lot, and eat, and sleep. so often when i’m hanging out with people i will desperate need to piss and just run off, or i’ll get really dizzy and nauseous because i haven’t eaten for hours or like just randomly start falling asleep mid conversation.

i despise brushing my teeth, it makes me feel so sick but i will never leave the house or have anyone over without brushing my teeth first - im not that gross. but yes, i have gone days without brushing them to the point where my mouth hurts.

i want more friends irl but i’m really loud and boisterous and expressive and quite weird and people do not like that.
if i don’t have any sense of physical touch for like 30 hours i will start spiralling into a depression. thankfully i have little sisters that really super love me and love hugs.

How many books did you read this year?
If we're counting manga (and I am because if it was good enough for my library's summer reading program, it's good enough for everyone else), I would guesstimate about...hmm...
113, perhaps?
Manga was my gateway back into reading after many, many years of Pointless Reading Anxiety Over Nothing. It's quick, it's good, and easy, so that made everything else easier to get into, too!
But including only the wordy-word books, that's about, uhh...
34? Many of them re-reads as I revisited old favorites.
17. Top five books of the year
Alrighty, here we go (in no particular order because I am bad at ranking):
-An Ordinary Wonder by Buki Papillon. Seriously, this one hooked me right from the beginning. It follows an intersex main character living in Nigeria. There are some harrowing scenes so read safely, but it was. Just so good. Pretty sure I cried.
-I had That Same Dream Again by Yoru Sumino. This one was so stinkin' cute and whimsical. I had a fantastic time, and it really reminded me of what it's like to be a kid again.
-The Killing Woods by Lucy Christopher. YA mystery about the sudden death of a girl, and all the people tangled up in it. This one was a re-read, and I'd only read it once before, but it really nails the type of writing style I lean towards.
-It Had to Be You by Georgia Clark. I historically haven't read a lot of romance, but this is the book that convinced me I should read more. Especially the fluffy kind. Bonus: an entire will-they-gay, won't-they-gay tension permeates the entire thing, with a payoff that I won't spoil. But I had a great time.
-Providence by Max Berry. If you like existential space horror and would enjoy a prominent character that you can easily headcanon as autistic, I'd check this one out.
Bonus shout-out to Haikyu! as the manga series that has devoured my soul this year. I fuckin' love my volleyball boys.
34. What’s a book you’ve recommended the most this year?
I haven't done much recommending, but I absolutely would suggest The Magic Fish by Trung Le Nguyen if you are even slightly interested in graphic novels. I did me a nice cry over that one.
18. Least favourite books of the year
Well, nothing I outright disliked, so that's good! In terms of manga, I tried Dr. Stone for the first time, and it just was a series I couldn't get into. The Last Slave Ship by Ben Raines was very interesting, but was probably the hardest to get through.

My #1 post of 2022
Ok, so I just watched Stranger Things 4 again but only the Robin/Steve/Nancy/Dustin/Max/Eddie/Lucas scenes, and I think that the writers 100% purposely made Robin autistic. I don't think it was accidental.
Back in the 70s and 80s autism wasn't really a thing that doctors knew much about, and for YEARS they also thought only boys could have autism. So it's not going to be an actual thing in the story where Robin is like diagnosed or even suspects it, but there were too many autistic traits for it to be an accident.
And I really like the way the writers did it. She's not nerdy or super awkward and overly quirky all the time. She is those things, but they're not "weird", if you know what I mean.
But I remember the first time I watched it, the biggest thing that stuck out to me was when she kept asking Nancy if she was mad at her because Nancy was basically not being very friendly and Robin said she can't always tell if she annoys people because she's bad at picking up on social cues, which her mom reminds her of daily.
Then there was the thing where she had to wear Nancy's clothes and she complained about how uncomfortable they were. Like she was so distracted the whole time because they felt scratchy and that the bra was digging into her… then she had a sensory overload outburst (sensory issues common in people with autism- commonly with clothes).
Then when the police were escorting them out, the cop touched her arm when she turned to look at something and she spazzed out and sharply said "don't touch me" (autistic people commonly don't want to be touched or only like being touched on our terms).
When Nancy said they had to run to the car and Robin said something like she's a bad runner because she has horrible coordination and it took her 6 months longer to learn to walk than all the other babies.
And then how she would sometimes just interject in conversations with something super random and they'd all be like, "...okay?"
Oh then when they were in the Upside-Down and trying to communicate with the others at the Wheeler's house, so they put their hands up to the lights and there was that like sparkly energy field around it or something, and someone said "It tingles" and Robin said, "It feels good." That's totally related to the sensory thing. I'm the same way- some things are so uncomfortable for me, but I also can't help touching things- like I have to know what things feel like and then I'll just keep touching it if it feels really cool.
Oh, and then when she said her biggest fear was rabies? so random. and she knew so much stuff about it and was kind of obsessed with it for like a whole scene.
Just so many things like that, and the first time around I didn't pick up on all of them, so rewatching those scenes with that lens was really fun and helped me notice more autistic traits in her. But I loved that she did have friends- they were just cool and loved her quirks (or with Nancy, she just put up with them even though Robin annoyed her so much). And she wasn't overly "weird". And she's smart without being nerdy. I guess I just really appreciate that the writers didn't go for the stereotypes and kind of naturally let those traits be revealed throughout the season.

How Max Verstappen won the Formula 1 world championship without knowing it
Max Verstappen clinched his second Formula 1 world championship on Sunday in a chaotic and rain-soaked Japanese Grand Prix.
But in a dramatic twist, the Red Bull Racing driver took the checkered flag without realizing what he had achieved.
It wasn’t until the post-race imposition of a penalty for his nearest rival, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, and a decision by the officials to award full points for the shortened race that the confusion turned to clarity and the Dutch driver’s title victory was cemented.
“To be honest, I don’t mind that it was a little bit confusing,” Verstappen told reporters. “I find it actually quite funny.”
The result puts Verstappen an insurmountable 113 points clear of the competition with four races to go. His win at the Suzuka Circuit continues a dominant run in the 2022 season for the 25-year-old racer, who is already drawing comparisons to the all-time greats in the sport. The race was temporarily halted by a red flag after two laps due to heavy rain and a frenzied start.
Leclerc crossed the line in second place, but the Monegasque was handed a five-second penalty for cutting the final chicane in a battle with Red Bull’s other driver, Sergio Perez, which dropped him to third. Even then, Verstappen said he didn’t think he had won the championship because the race hadn’t completed full distance.
“Once I crossed the line, I was like, ‘OK, that was an amazing race. Good points again, but not World Champion yet.’ Then I did my interview after the race. And then suddenly my mechanics started to cheer and I was like, ‘What’s going on?’ And then I realized that Checo (Perez) was second instead of Charles. But I still didn’t know if it was full points, half points or whatever is 75%,” Verstappen said.
An official “came to me and he said that I was the world champion. So then we celebrated,” Verstappen continued. “And then suddenly people were telling me, ‘No, you’re still missing a point.’ So it was like, ‘Oh, that’s amazing. That’s a bit weird.’ But then eventually we had enough points so then we were world champion again.”
In the immediate aftermath of the race, fans and analysts on social media criticized the uncertainty surrounding the new rule, which was established this year. It imposes a multitiered points system after complaints over a rained-out race in Belgium last year, which resulted in points being awarded after two laps behind a safety car, despite a lack of meaningful race-day competition.
Red Bull team principal Christian Horner told Sky F1 that the team was poring over the rules after the race and expected Verstappen to fall just short of clinching the title.
“We were under the strong impression that only with 75% of the race completed would full points be scored,” Horner said. “So we felt we were going to be one point short.”
The FIA has suggested it will review the rule, according to Sky F1.
Verstappen offered his opinion during the post-race briefing.
“These are really complex situations with the weather, the amount of laps. And then, of course, there’s a difference between if you finish the race or the race gets red-flagged early on and then you can’t continue. And there is of course, a difference between the two,” he said. “So yeah, I do think that if you don’t write enough rules, it’s not good. If you write too many rules, also not good. It’s always really hard to find a middle ground, I think.”
Verstappen won his first world championship last year after a thrilling last-lap showdown with Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton in the last race of a neck-and-neck title fight. But this year Verstappen has handily defeated his competitors and his back-to-back championship has been widely expected for weeks, if not months. It was just a matter of when he would clinch it.
It marks a generational moment for Formula 1 with the rise of Gen Z drivers like Verstappen, Leclerc, McLaren’s Lando Norris and Mercedes’ George Russell changing the face of the sport. The three other champions on the grid — Hamilton, Aston Martin’s Sebastian Vettel and Alpine’s Fernando Alonso — have been scrapping in the midfield in less competitive cars this year.
Vettel, a four-time champion, is retiring after this year. Alonso is leaving Alpine to take his seat at Aston Martin.
On Monday, one day after the race in Japan, the sport’s governing body announced its long-anticipated findings about the budget cap, finding that Red Bull committed a “procedural” breach and “minor financial overspend” of less than 5% over the cap in 2021. Aston Martin were found to be in “procedural” breach as well. Officials did not say what punishments would be assessed for the violations.
The next Formula 1 race is scheduled for Oct. 23 in Austin, Texas. The American audience for the sport has grown rapidly in recent years, and the 2023 calendar adds a grand prix in Las Vegas, in addition to races in Miami and Austin.
Leclerc, who started off the season in strong form but has since been hampered by Ferrari strategy failures and driver errors, said he hopes to finish the year strong and come back fighting in 2023.
“A huge congratulations to Max and to Red Bull. They’ve done an incredible job this year. Yeah, Max has just been incredible and it’s a title fully deserved,” Leclerc said after the race. “And on our side, we’ll try to push for the last four races this season to improve as a team and to hopefully put more of a challenge next year.”
