"When Amber first accused him everyone sided with her because she was a woman and the me too movement was on her side."

Like, when? The absolute most I heard about Depp when the first allegations came out was "Well we just don't know, innocent until proven guilty, we just can't say." But as soon as he accused Amber people were like "See? I told you!"

Something I’m thinking about with the whole Amber Heard thing is that at its worst there were people making jokes about how she would have to get into sex work to pay the money.

I thought sex work was empowering?? If Amber Heard was the abuser, why would you want an abuser to be empowered?

The whole thing about Johnny Depp winning the case made me sick. While Amber Heard was exposing her moments of fragility, with proofs, Johnny Depp was laughing about having a jar of cocaine, eating gumbears and smirking. A woman can't hit a men in order to be a perfect victim. She has to be submissive? She has to be beaten 'till she is dead? A men who claims to be "victim" goes through a process in which he shows no mercy, no kindness and only sarcastic attitudes. I don't give a fuck about JD fans. I was a JD fan. But there is something bigger than me, bigger than the crush which is my values.

I don't give a fuck about this people who claims to love JD while JD is not giving a single flying fuck for his fans. He's just using cocaine and trying to be a "rockstar" which he never was.

I'm not gonna lie, in the beginning, I thought that Amber was lying too. Because I just couldn't accept that my hero, my idol was a monster. But after the video of CLEARLY A domestic violence, I have no doubts. And is so sad that for people is still not enough to believe in Amber.

Some people confuses that just because this can happen to men, is something that is equally happening to everyone even in this situation where Johnny clearly hits Amber.

Women are still the most victims of domestic violence, psychological violence, patrimonial violence.

This proof, this video is clearly a proof of domestic violence. Against facts, there is no opinion. He is a clearly wife-beater.

To anyone who excuses this kind of behavior is blind or masochist or just starstruck.

I just wanted to say that if you also stand by the side of Amber Heard, if you are victim of domestic violence, patromonial violence, psychological violence we are here for you.

We are not gonna give up the fight.

just convinced my roommate to believe and support amber heard

we now agree that this drawn-out case is further abuse carried out against amber heard

we had a logical discussion and argument based on previous records, court case(s), and our perceptions of public opinion

main points:

the former ngn libel trial, where it was proven beyond a reasonable doubt on the balance of probability [edited] that depp actually was a “wife beater” in 12 out of 14 presented counts and therefore could be called that in a publication

the fact that this has been drawn out on an international stage and turned into a media frenzy bc of depp’s own decisions, and that heard is being vilified and he is being praised — she is not being loved for coming out with this abuse (a la critics of metoo), and she’s not the one bringing it to light anyway

that all of this current case is based on an op-ed in which heard said she came into the spotlight as a public figure related to domestic abuse, not naming anyone and not violating their nda

that several women are taking to tiktok and using the audio of heard describing her alleged rape and saying that they wish it had happened to them and nothing was wrong — that no matter who or what you believe, that’s pretty fucked and shows the lengths at which public opinion is swayed in favor of depp

how people are policing and picking apart heard's emotional state in court and not depp's

i used to be team mutual abuse until i got my head out of my ass and actually read into what's going on

bc damn it is easy to support depp if you only listen to public opinion
