100 Weird AU's? Yes.
Tumblr media
So, I had these AU prompts on my phone for quite a while, and I was actually thinking about using them. And what better way to do it than using them with the Tracy's?
Reading and reading these prompts again (and under the gentle guidance of @willow-salix ) I thought that these prompts doesn't exactly match the brothers' everyday situation, but what if we push it past its limit? Yes, biting more that you can chew can be a little difficult, but I don't think it will be impossible. And that's where this challenge is born!
Get the Tracy's out of International Rescue's bubble and let them live an everyday situation as normal people! They can also be medieval nobles or even futuristic robots, the choice's up to you! You can choose from soo many things others don't even think about (and not even me, for a while)!
Many thanks to @tag2060 for the cover and @willow-salix for the support (both emotional and 'fic-ical'. I love both of you💚
NOTE: THESE PROMPTS AREN'T ALL MINE. I TOOK THEM FROM A GIRL I'M NOT IN CONTACT WITH ANYMORE, BUT I WAS TOLD I COULD USE THEM. ALL CREDITS FOR THESE AU'S GO TO HER, WHATEVER IS HER NAME (lmao). THE GOLD MARKED ONES (7, 11, 20, 23, 39, 47, 63, 64, 70, 83, 89, 91, 93, 96, 100) ARE ALL MINE, IN SUBSITUTION OF A FEW THAT WERE THERE, SO CREDIT FOR THE GOLDEN MARKED ONES GOES TO ME, BUT NOT EVERY ONE OF THEM.
NOTE²: SOME OF THE PROMPTS CONTAIN STRONG THEMES, LIKE DEPRESSION AND SEXUAL CONTENT. IF YOU'RE SENSIBLE TO THESE THEMES, DON'T DO THEM, NOBODY FORCES YOU IF YOU DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE.
(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ:・゚✧(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ:・゚✧(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
To participate in this challenge, all you have to do is take one of the AU prompts from the list, one or more (or all) Tracy characters, and post your fic (can be a ficlet, or a series) under the tag #100weirdTracys and #100weirdAUs.
If you don't want to participate, please don't harass/bully me. I made this challenge just for fun, and I don't want for it to feel like something bad. In fact, I don't even regret doing this thing, even if it's strange.
Ah, I almost forgot: this challenge will be over in December, so you have 4 months to choose a prompt and make a fic about it. On December I'll review all the fics, but I'll always be reblogging and reading during these 4 months lol.
If you want to tell me something, hit me up on DM's! I hope you have fun with those prompts and those bois!
(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
TO RESUME:
• Swearing is allowed.
• You can write as many words as you want!
• Oc's and muses can pop in too!
• Make sure to tag your fic(s) under the '#100weirdTracys' and '#100weirdAUs' tags, so that I can find them easily.
• Always tag or contact me if you need help with anything! I'll be more than glad to help you!
• If you decide to do the mature prompts (19, 90, just to state an example) please refrain from using a too mature language and don't go further than making up. I don't like that kind of language, so it would be peachy to just avoid writing so they make wild sex behind a bush. Any kind of very mature fic or language won't be read by me, I'm sorry. You can still use those prompts, but don't work their bed life too much.
• Any dialect or first language apart from english is more than welcome in this yard! I would love even to read snippets of foreign language in fics, as long as there's a translation near it, but you're not forced to write in another language. If you don't feel comfortable doing it just don't do it, even if I'm telling you. (For the record, I love Irish so much I could listen to a person speaking this language for hours and you won't hear me complaining).
• I will accept this challenge in whatever form it takes, be it a fic, a drawing, a song, etc. I’m open to anything and I watch everything that comes before me!

Skam Italia S4
First, let me just say whoever uploaded season 4 on YouTube with the English subtitles you are the best person in the world.
Tumblr media
As a Muslim woman watching Sana’s story was like reliving my teen years...this constant tug of war I had within myself. I wanted so badly to be able to do the things my non-Muslim friends got to do but was always worried about disappointing my family, so I didn’t ask if it would okay to go to Homecoming or go to the movies with a group of girls and boys or go to the parties after the football game. I always just assumed the answer would be no so why even bother. Now that I am middle age I regret not being brave enough to be honest with myself and my parents. I missed out on so many opportunities that I am never going to get back. I am so glad there are shows now like Skam that can give a courage  to those who are afraid to speak up.
Tumblr media
But I digress. Season 4 was just stunning...visually, emotionally, and artistically. I almost want to go back and watch all the “Sana” seasons but...
Tumblr media
I just know I am going to start comparing all “Sana” seasons and I really don’t want to do that because, while I know they all somewhat follow the same plot line, each actress brings something unique to their “Sana” and I respect all the work they put into telling her story. I think I just connected to this “Sana” season a little more, which surprised me because I wasn’t that big a fan of her in the early seasons. But her message to apologize to the girls and explain all those emotions that had been weighing her down...
Tumblr media
I was ugly crying. I was ugly crying so hard I was gasping for air. Beatrice’s delivery of that scene deserves all the awards.
Tumblr media
Holy crap! This is turning into a dissertation. Okay here a “few” other things I loved about this season:
Martino and Sana’s scene in Filo’s apartment. I loved that she was able to open up to him and just finally be able to breathe after carrying all that anger and hurt. And I don’t care what she said...Martino is totally her best friend.
Every freaking scene with Malik and Sana! Every scene was so beautifully shot and every time they had a scene together I was grinning like an idiot.
Tumblr media
That scene of the two of them in the hot spring...there not even that physically close to one another and I’m fanning myself like I have the vapors.
Tumblr media
Where was Malik when I was a teen...
The Luai storyline was handled so well (*ahem* take note Skam France). The scene in the club where they locked eyes on one another...you can just sense that they are remembering all those stolen moments they had with one another. And I am so glad that part of the storyline was that Sana’s parents and Imam saved him...acknowledging the distinction between faith and ignorance.
Tumblr media
A+ to Martino and Niccolo’s beach conversation. I was worried that they were going to gloss over their fight (*ahem* Skam France) but those boys actually had a grown up conversation about trust and being open with one another and I am so pleased we got to actually witness it instead of it happening off screen and being mentioned (*ahem* Skam France).
Tumblr media
Oh man..it’s almost 2 am and I really should go to sleep.
Tumblr media
Who am I kidding...I’m going to watch season 4 again! Thanks for letting me play in your tag.

Who Tube (Doctor Who YouTube) is hilariously terrible at the moment. You’ve got new fans being gatekept by old fans and then yelling at the old fans and then the old fans yelling back, people subtweeting each other on their channels “Some YouTubers, they know who they are”, people posting vicious rants as soon as episodes end--lots of really really toxic shit on both sides. Like. It’s hilarious--if you enjoy VERY thinly veiled misogyny on one side and blind adoration for progressiveness at the expense of decent writing on the other. If you listen to these people, it’s not very difficult to see where the canon schism between straight white “geek culture” males and anyone with a so labeled by said people SJW motivation come to blows. They both think the other side is just ignorant, and the constant lashing out is just. Wow. It’s really. Wow.
Saltiness ahead.
It frustrates me a lot, because I feel the show has been really hit and miss this season and the warring on YouTube is just another example of how you just can’t discuss this reasonably. It’s not all bad, but it’s certainly been far from all good. Some of it REALLY works, like for example Ryan’s dyspraxia and the decision to explore Yasmin’s character through her grandmother’s story, but some of it doesn’t. I was particularly dismayed today, spoilers, by James I being played through the lens of modern campness by Alan Cumming this week, turning the former monarch into a queer caricature (I know the guy most from his role in Spy Kids, Fegan Floop, which replays ENDLESSLY on british TV). I feel like a lot of the episodes of this season have been simply the characters thrown into chaos, bad guy is revealed to be an alien, then the Doctor gives a shockingly profound, emotional speech that makes you forget how awful some of the other parts were and you go away with ~feels~ and not much else, because all the endings are pulled out of the writer’s ass anyway. Just. That’s how I personally saltily feel about this show this season, like it’s been platforming for a bunch of different writers saying what they want to say about humanity through the Doctor’s mouth. Like she’s ceased to exist beyond her existence as that mouthpiece, and that in some ways the show has too. (just my opinion. anyway.)
But you can’t talk about this stuff. I find myself reading reviews and watching people who like the show and place no accountability on the show beyond being politically bold, and it drives me nuts. It doesn’t matter what form it comes in, so long as it’s pro-feminist, or it exposes people to history they might not have learned in class, or there’s a dude giving birth for 50% of the airtime. If I want to hear or discuss any challenge to those things, I find myself listening to purely negative reviews instead, and noping out when the person suddenly reveals halfway through that they believe that because men aged 18-40 is a big demographic, it only makes sense that they’re the group that are kowtowed to at every opportunity. Like wtf dudes, sorry you can’t hack that other people exist in the world and you aren’t being catered to 24/7 any more. Fuck off. So it’s no wonder the antis feel Doctor Who lovers are all SJWs and the pos!Who people are convinced that the antis are all racist misogynist fucks. (The showrunners do too afaik, and that isn’t helped at all by Chibnall and Jodie both being SO resistant to negativity that neither of them seem to be soliciting fan feedback that isn’t positive.) Is it hard to ask for objectivity, though? For something that comes down the middle? That isn’t racist and misogynistic, but maybe still cares about how the things we’re looking for in terms of representation are being handed to us? How about, at least, not having to listen to some people who are so entitled that they literally think that Jodie Whitaker shouldn’t have shot out any babies so that she can instead devote her entire life to making TV shows? (Seriously, I listened to one girl who thought that, and you could hear her contempt for people who have kids in every syllable.)
I’ve liked episodes of this season. The Kablam! episode was great, I only had minor complaints with the ep that I handwaved away because I felt like there was actually some dramatic tension. I liked episode 2 because it was idk. A fun adventurous romp and the characters all had flaws. I quite liked Rosa because it had the bones of something better, and that showed through in all the scenes where Rosa’s actress (Vinette Robinson, who was also in the Chibnall episode ‘42′, btw what nepotism how many british actors do you think there are?) interacted with the other characters.
But they weren’t all perfect, at least to me. Maybe I’m a negative nelly, because everyone seems to be tripping over themselves to scream positivity about the show in their reviews, but I, personally, feel like much of it has fallen flat. When they did finally drop - as they’ve been avoiding for much of this season - the ‘If I was a bloke this wouldn’t have been a problem thing, it wasn’t even delivered with a great deal of gravity or purpose. Maybe some people think that was a good thing, I don’t know, but looking at the way sexism was handled in Timeless, for example, and hell, Sliders (which was a trashy 90s show about jumping between alternate realities; or Quantum Leap for that matter, which had Sam jump into the lives of women in the past and experience days in their lifetimes), it’s way past the era of TV to deliver that kind of line like it’s inconsequentially drawing attention to something nobody noticed before, you know? Why is the BBC always 100 years behind, despite playing like it’s the most progressive thing ever? Why do we let it, and say “Sure we’ll take it, that’s enough” instead of also insisting they tell GOOD stories, and not wave their hand and say aliens did it at the end of every episode? I get it’s a time traveling series but the aliens show up and then the doctor waves her magic wand and ~science~ and yes she quoted Arthur C Clarke but she can do that and be powerful and tell powerful stories that aren’t completely...halfhearted, and if you don’t have trumped up stupid bad guys you don’t have to have flimsy solutions for beating them at the end.
We SHOULD be seeing ourselves in the media we’re absorbing. I firmly believe that. I also think, though, that we’re entitled to be respected by that media as well, in that the stories we’re seeing that show US should be good stories. They shouldn’t be concentrating on making as many nods as possible to as many corners of culture as possible that it stops caring about the story it’s telling, because whatever politically correct points it scores will ensure people overlook its flaws. It’s disrespectul, and we shouldn’t allow it, because it means we’re nothing but a commodity, an unquestioning storyblind audience that just doesn’t care so long as our representation needs are getting catered to. That means we’ll keep getting more representation, but a lot of it will be shit, because no matter what we’ll throw up our hands and give it ten out of ten and rigorously defend it no matter what caricatures it throws in front of us.
We should demand better stories alongside our representation. Fandom is so powerful now that we’re being written for, because as a whole we aren’t objective. We engage in mass squeeing, we’re GREAT at giving positive feedback and high ratings like it’s our job to do it even if it’s undeserved (and arguably Who NEEDED that positive feedback this year) and best of all anyone who doesn’t agree can be written off as an angry white dude, or racist, or just ignorant. That’s good for ratings and good for clicks, and networks eat that stuff up because it makes them money. But that isn’t respect, and we shouldn’t be selling ourselves out for a bargain basement price.
That’s my last word on it for now. I’ll probably complain again next week, and I know I KNOW this isn’t a popular pov for people, but I’ve made my bed with that. For those of you who loved it, I’m glad for you. I’m mostly disappointed for myself. And I still think camp James I was fucking terrible but I already know people love him, so what do I know?
P.S. my tags are for my flist so they can blacklist properly, not to force my saltiness down the throats of other Who fans. You don’t have to agree with me. I just needed to vent.

ok. listen i know i havent been here in ages and this isn’t an original idea but hear me out:
RWBY as a live action tv series, and our characters as the actors, actresses, and crew.
set in our world modern verse. featuring a small production company, employing and casting crew and actors from all over the world. not convinced yet? here’s why y’all should indulge me:
your muse canonically dead or afk? not anymore!! they produce the show now. or write it. or just hang out on the set when they’re free.
your muse a villain and hard to rp with other folk? not anymore!!! let them be pals with the most unlikely of other people. see how they deal with fndm hating their character. (or loving their char too much)
your char an oc? nOT ANYMORE. theyre canon chars now. maybe they write the show. direct. tell qrow off when he almost posts spoilers on twitter. ANYTHING
whats a crossover? the ocs you rp with are now actors/crew in their own universe’s movie/game/tv show. the chars from other fandoms are actors/crew in their source’s show/movie/game.
your ship a rarepair u jump through hoops to put together? not anymore!! their actors are shacking up.
lbr we’re all suffering the hiatus. who needs canon material for this!! they’re in shooting for the eps that’ll air in october.
seriously, how easy would it be to get,, literally the entire community involved in something like this. TAG ME IF YOU DO!!! i wanna see what folk come up with!!
still not convinced? here’s some ideas i came up with, with the help of @iruzurru and @rosescattered. obv if i mention your muse and you wanna get in on this dont feel like you have to follow these!! these are just meant to inspire™
under the cut, cause lONG:
taiyang and summer club together every year to fund a holiday for the entire cast and crew to celebrate the end of a season. they buy out an entire plane for the journeys and instigate travelling songs
taiyang is a writer for the show who played ruby and yang’s dad more as a cameo, but got given more scenes when the character proved rlly popular
summer is a writer too. noone, not even tai knows she’s gonna be playing summer when she shows up later in the show >:3c
emerald and cinder being best friends who play up icly for the fans. emerald throws down on twitter with anyone who harrasses cinder for playing a baddie
winter wasn’t an actor originally. she writes novels, but she was on set one day waiting for weiss to finish shooting so they could go to lunch.
she was given first dibs on an audition to play weiss’ ic sister and nails it. weiss insists she’s not even acting, she’s just Really Like This
winter writes fanfic of emerald/cinder on ao3 for shits and giggles dont @ me. noone knows its her bc she uses winter’s ic callsign as a username and ppl just assume its a winter fan
this is yang’s first big acting job, but she’s Known in celebrity circles because her mom is the Very Famous Raven Branwen.raven’s a household name
raven subsequently gets cast as her real mom because it just makes sense and would boost the series’ popularity following her guest appearance at the end of volume 2
qrow is very vocal about his character’s storylines and supports charities relating to substance abuse. he frequently finds himself in twitter discourse with fans because he loudly discourages romanticising his character
this gets him accused of hating his character, which he doesn’t. fandom either loves him or hates him
qrow and raven arent siblings but they might as well be because they’re so fking close and roast each other on twitter all the time
neo’s actress is actually a really famous opera singer who’s breaking into acting. this gives rise to the popular fanon that neo actually can talk and has a bitchin’ voice but chooses not to.
emerald’s an orphan. she bounced around kids homes and developed a great talent for lying in the process. hearing a drama teacher describe acting as ‘lying really well’ sealed the deal for her career choice. she’s had bit parts and lives in a shitty apartment until rwby becomes her first big break.
coco was a big actress in france. she came to america seeking to break into hollywood, and found it pretty difficult. she’s emerald’s roommate, and it’s emerald who tells her about the opening for a member of team cfvy and pushes her to audition.
ilia has to wear one of those green screen suits all the time so they can animate her scales. yang gets a selfie with her every time she’s wearing it. takes upon takes have been ruined by blake and sun laughing at her.
it annoys ilia at first. then, she starts to find it funny. then, she gets her own back by purposefully making people laugh. she does the yoshi mlem every time she cracks her whip.
pyrrha’s actress routinely gets bit parts and cameos in future volumes bc the cast and crew love her so much they want her around all the time. she’s like 50% of the reason a comedy mini-series where nothing bad happens exists alongside the main series.
the entire cast and crew rallying around cinder after v3 when the fan backlash comes from pyrrha’s onscreen death. they throw a party after to celebrate pyrrha and cinders great performances. its a greek theme
team rwby, smartasses that they are, all come dressed as achilles with little papier mache arrows stuck in their heels
weiss is a Career Showman. she started off in ballet, then moved to broadway, then onto the bigscreen. she’s had a huge amount of success despite how young she is, and was continually pushed to land greater and greater roles. she suffered a very publicised breakdown because of the stress.
she ‘disappeared’ in the showbiz scene when she went to live with winter in her remote little writing shack in the middle of assfuck nowhere to recharge.
rwby is her first acting job since then. she was hesitant to start back at all, but finds herself extremely supported and refreshed by the small, close-knit production.
blake’s had to work twice as hard for every role she’s ever landed due to being an ethnic minority. her professionalism makes her seem closed off and cold, so she hasn’t made many friends. she has a small, devoted fanbase, though.
summer is one of those fans, and has always wanted to cast blake in something. her character was written with her in mind, and summer was elated when blake accepted the proffered audition and subsequent role in rwby.
ruby is summer and tai’s daughter!! they are not shy at all about saying that her part was written For Her. they don’t apologise for it either fuck u they created this show they cast who they want.
the red trailer only initially existed for ruby to do a screentest of her character. it was so well produced and nailed so hard they made it promotional material and wrote the white, black and yellow ones to go with it.
ruby grew up reading her parents’ stuff and writing her own, too. in school, she wrote, directed and produced an entire play for her classmates, but never thought of acting until her parents suggested she play the lead in this new show they’ve been thinking about.
ruby and yang met on set. they’ve been thick as thieves ever since.
...AND SO ON I COULD DO THIS ALL DAY GUYS

Pairing: Steve x Reader
Words: 1830
Warnings: Drunk people.
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 Part 4, Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8
Tumblr media
You are worried, very worried. It's almost midnight and you don’t have any idea where Steve is right now. He told you that he would be coming to your new apartment for dinner around 7 pm, but he never shows up it was not like Steve to stood you up or to despair out of nowhere.
You had planned such a nice evening for the two of you. You had ordered his favorite food from the small Italian place close to his house, brought some pink champagne and light up some candles around your living room.
“Where are you, Steve?” You ask to yourself, putting the take out on the fridge and blowing out all the candles.  You take off your pretty dress going to bed, texting Steve one more time before you fall asleep.
Around two in the morning you hear someone knocking on your door, you run into your front door seeing, Steve from the camera that you had just installed. You open the door pulling him from a hug; you can smell scotch and vodka coming from him “Where were you?”  You ask worried making him sit on the couch before he fell down and took you with him.
You never saw Steve drunk, at least not like this.
“You look so nice, your couch is so nice ... it must be more expensive than my house.” He says laughing; you blush covering yourself with your hands. You are only on in your underwear, you didn't imagine that he would show up in the middle of the night to see you “Not really...why don’t we go to bed and we talk about this tomorrow morning?”
You say trying to get him to bed before he hurts himself “Why do you even care? It’s not like you love me anyway.”  He says getting up and stumbling on the rug. You manage to help him before he falls “Steve please, I promise that we talk about this tomorrow.” You are not going to say that you love him for the first time while he is drunk.
“Why are you so drunk?” You ask leading him to your bedroom “Because it’s fun and people always say that drink maybe helps people forget.” He says confused and jumping on your bed. You have to contain your laughter this was pretty funny. You start to take off his shoes, helping him get comfortable “What do you want to forget?” You ask letting the curiosity get the best of you, this wasn’t just a night at the bar with a few friends this was something more.
"I don’t know... I forgot.” He says making you laugh” Of course you did, come on help me take off your pants.” You say unblocking his belt but he stops you “You said no sex, missy and I am a man of my word.” He says and you can't help but smile, even drunk he was still a gentleman.
“I am not trying to get in your pants, Rogers just trying to make you comfortable.” You say finally taking off his pants and shirt “You should, I have great pants.” You keep laughing, Steve was really a funny drunk,“ I am sure that they are, Steve let’s lay down for a little.” You say taking off his watch.
“No, I need to wear the watch.” He says trying to hold it, but he is not fast enough “Why? Are you afraid to be late in your dreams?” You joke lying beside him on the bed “I promised your grandma … she said to never take it off”
“Steve, she would understand if you took off to sleep.” You say trying to understand why he was so upset, you feel his arms around you” It’s a family thing, why do I have a family thing from your family? He asks you can see that his energy is running low and he will be asleep soon.
“Nana gave you latter; you told me that she explained.” You just want to for him to go to sleep and tomorrow you two can have a mature conversation about what is happening “It was going to be mine anyway, so she thought about…” He never finishes the sentence, you look at him he was falling asleep. You cuddle in his chest, trying to fall asleep and not to overthinking all of this.
On the next day you wake up with your bed moving, you groan annoyed before opening your eyes.  When you sit on the bed you see, Steve coming back from your bathroom and he looks so exhausted.
His bright blue eyes are dark with bags under it, his hair was a mess and he looked like he was in pain. You are pretty sure that this was his first hangover in years “How are you feeling?’ You ask carefully “Like hell, I feel like I died and went to hell.” He says getting back to bed.
“Good to know that I am so ugly that you are confusing me with a demon.” You joke making him groan “You are beautiful but you are talking so loud. Can you just stay quiet for a minute?” He asks hiding his head on the pillow, putting your hand on his chest.
“I am an idiot.” He says sitting on the bed, rubbing his forehead “That I know, I never saw you like this. “ You say getting out of the bed, picking a glass of water and some aspirins for him “No, the stupid part was what I did before the drinking in part… I punched, Pierce really hard in the face.”
“What? How? Why?” You ask giving him the water and the medicine. He explains everything to you from his conversation with Pierce to the documents that he was given with all the proof of illegal activities, to Pierce threats and what led things to the punch.
“This is so messed up, we need to do something about this, Steve.” You say hiding your hands in your hands, you feel like your hands are tied and not in a fun sexy way “I know but I don’t know what…if I send people to jail, I am playing his game. If I don’t do it I am commenting a crime. If I fire him, he is going to expose all the dirty…”
You take a deep breath sitting on his lap; you hold his face in your hands “We can do this, ok? Obviously, we need help, legal help. I think we should call, Tony.” You say thinking, what else you two can do?
“Do you trust, Tony?” You nod, Tony wasn’t your favorite person in the world, but he was a great lawyer “I will go see him today, you should go to work and go to your fancy meeting with the advertising department.”  He says holding you close and kissing your neck.
“Steve… “He doesn’t let you finish instead he kisses you ”Please? I promise you that I keep you posted just don’t worry, ok?” You nod kissing him one more time “Fine, but take a nap first you look exhausted.” You say leaving his lap and going to the shower, you were so excited about pitch your idea to the team but now this sounds so frivolous compared to Steve just told you.
When you came back to your bedroom, Steve is sound sleep cuddling with your pillow. You can’t help but smile, he looks so adorable. You kiss his cheek before going to work.
Your day flew by and you didn’t even notice, most of your meeting you stayed in the conference room hearing pitches for the campaign. It was really fun, seeing a lot of people having different ideas of how to advertise lipstick.
There were so many ideas, a few were really fun like make rain lipstick or hire 15 women and make them wear umbrellas like the color of the lipsticks. Other were really cliché, hire a few supermodels and make them their face of the new products.
But by fair your favorite was Thor’s, he wanted to hire normal women, of all ages, races and body types and see how their do their makeup with your products. That was really similar to your idea, but instead of unknown people you wanted hire famous actress and models.
You hate to admit but you did like this, but you liked his idea a lot better than yours, it felt more real something that Nana would have liked.  Bucky decides to mix your ideas, hiring all types of women including a few famous ones to be the face of the product.
After lunch, the three of you start to plan the outline of the campaign, which celebrities did you guys wanted to appear on it. What was the context of the video, you wanted to make these woman say why makeup was important to them, how red lipstick made them feel and for them to share personal stories.
On the next couple of weeks, this is all you guys would be working on. It was nice to be involved in a project that you were enjoying as much as this one.  It sounded like something that Nana would have approved and enjoyed she always said that red lipstick was for everyone with a mouth and good taste.
“Steve wants me to take you the manor.” Bucky says at the end of the day, leading you to his bike parked outside of the building “You know I am really thinking about hiring a driver, this is getting ridiculous everyone is giving me rides lately.”
You say putting the helmet getting behind him “You should or at least buy a car.” You roll your eyes at him “You know that I don’t drive, I only took my license because Nana made me.” He laughs “Hold on tight, but not that tight that Steve and Nat would be jealous.” He says playful, starting the motorcycle.
When you get in the manor, you feel heart swelling on your chest. It’s being a month since you were here but it feels like a lifetime “Are you ok?” Bucky asks putting his hand on the small of your back when you nod he leads you inside.
You are surprised when you see, Steve, Tony, and Peter working on the living. The place is a mess; there are papers all over the place, there is blackboard full of ideas in the middle and the room and coffee mugs in every table.
You look at the three men in front of you and they look like they haven’t slept in ages “What is happening here?” You asked trying to understand what was written on the blackboard. Steve picks your hand showing you a file.
“We have a plan against, Pierce but we are going to need your help to do it.” You sit on the couch, opening the file “Tell me what you guys, go it.”
Part 10

MY OTHER GARVEZ STORIES
This story is dedicated to my Peruvian friend and fellow in night chatter @thinitta
I HAVE TO GO
For those who believed that love was take and run away, for those who will still believe in it from now on...
Obviously is raining. And she can't say that this displeased to her, the time is perfectly matched with her internal mood. She could even almost manage to convince herself that she was the actress of some film noir.
Penelope hugs her suitcase, sheltered under a colorful umbrella. Or in Singing in the rain. She begins to hum the melody in a low voice. Headlights illuminate the street strangely little traffic. She looks her reflected in a puddle. She sighs and moves forward, without looking over her shoulder, towards her apartment.
The taxi stops in front of her gate. A 60 ages old man comes down and, after kindly greeting her, loads the only baggage behind it, then opens the door for her. She closes the umbrella and shakes off a few drops of rain. Inside there is a nice warmth, but it’s not powerful enough. It can’t contrast with the frost that pervades her.
The driver was tired to hear the complaints of people on who knows what various topics (Reid had mentioned a study about it, which showed that people open up mostly with hairdressers, taxi drivers and some other category that he couldn’t remember) he became a bit of a psychologist: he realized that the blonde woman didn’t want to talk and left her lost in her own thoughts. Probably he also notices that in the middle she begins a silent cry, but something in her bearing, in her look, in her eyes, suggests him that it’s a serious matter, yes, there is something extremely proud in her tears.
I don’t have to think about it, but now what is the use of censoring me, forcing me not to do it? He'll never know it. So, I ask myself: what is Luke doing right now? He will be with her, probably. They'll be... She bites her lips, closes her eyes and forces herself to say it. They'll making love, surely. After spending a quiet evening watching some stupid TV program. His arm around Lisa's shoulders, she with her head resting on his chest, every now and then she’ll have raised her chin to look for his lips ... and then they will have laughed, he’ll have bent his mouth in that strange way, so sexy and mischievous and he’ll have proposed turning off the TV to move on to something more interesting. And then they may fall asleep together, legs intertwined, his arm on her stomach and this morning he’ll bring her the breakfast to bed and...
She believed she was strong, that she would be able to pretend that everything was going well, that nothing had changed. This was until Lisa had appeared from O'Keef, shattering the barrier between work and private life. She couldn’t hide what she felt, could no longer joke with herself and settle for that little, now that Luke had a girlfriend, especially if she was there, present.
And realizing how much their behavior together was natural, this had finally killed her. It wasn’t the adventure of a night, or a "phase". Surely Luke would have married Lisa, just as Derek had ended up doing the same with Savannah. It wasn’t about seeing the overlaps where there weren't: they were both female doctors, beautiful women and good people.
May you be happy, Luke. I wish you only this.
But she wouldn’t stay there to see it.
For those who believed that giving oneself means being strong, I say no, nothing at all ...
He awakens hearing a sound that he is get attached now, but when he opens his eyes to read the content of the message, he is surprised to see who the sender is. It's Prentiss, a new case has arrived. He rubs his eyes and yawns. Needless to lie to himself, he is sad that it’s not Garcia, it was usually she to throw him out of bed with that sentence, combined with a joke every time different. In fact, Lisa had never appreciated this either (that another woman snatched him from her arms), but before tonight (last night, now) he hadn’t noticed.
He dresses without turning on the light, he doesn’t need it, because enough of it enters from the window. It is six o'clock in the morning. He can’t wait to get there, to see her. Of course, he can‘t speak already now, because they have to concentrate on the case, but later, in short, when this case too will be archived, perhaps...
Roxy barks, distracting him from his ruminations. -I'm sorry, girl, no walk today.- he gives her a caress. -Jenny will arrive soon.- without Lisa’ stuff his house doesn’t seem so different. He can’t help but imagine unicorns, octopus-shaped cups, strange-colored curtains. If there was Penelope in her place, yes, he would feel the difference.
He shakes his head and climbs into the van.
Because those who flee will not be a real winner at all, only those who don’t hide will win...
Finally, he sees the outline of the very high building, he parks and rushes to the elevator. In that narrow space he fries with anxiety. He just needs to see her, just a second... the doors open, and he go down. He heads to his desk. -Hey, good morning!- he is excited, anyone could understand it. He greets Spencer and Matt, who reciprocate him. He notices that Rossi is talking on the balcony with Emily. He turns to JJ, who is intent on working on some documents, very focused. -Hey!- he says, but the blonde doesn’t seem to have heard him, because she doesn’t answer anything. But she seems to notice that he is staring at her, because she slams the papers on her desk and sighs, as if she were trying to control her anger. Maybe she fights with Will? He sees no other solution to her behavior. -JJ?- he asks, uncertain. She turns to him and glares at him, one of those looks that are very close to those that usually gave him Penelope. Luke stands up in front of the woman. -Hey, are you okay?- JJ also stands up, pushing the chair badly, but instead of answering, she heads towards the round table room. -What's wrong with her?- he asks the other two men. Simmons shrugs, dr. Reid seems to know more, but also, it's not willing to telling him anything. After not even a second the chief appears on the balcony. -Guys…-
Camouflaging your love can only hurt you, so it should never be done...
As soon as he comes in, Luke notices that someone is missing. There is an empty chair and the remote-control rests abandoned on the table. However, he doesn’t have time to ask for anything (because in the euphoric state he is in, he probably would have been able to do it), since a man who he has never seen, makes his entrance.
-Good morning, sorry for the delay.- and the man grabs that remote control. Luke must refrain from taking it before him, as if he wanted to protect an object he deems worthy only of the undisputed goddess of the BAU, one of the many nicknames he had discovered had been created by Morgan specifically for her.
He immediately starts talking about the case, but Luke can’t concentrate. He stares at him as if he were a usurper. He has gray hair, wears a pair of glasses with banal frames and has a voice that he finds annoying immediately. And he is clearly an IT. Kevin Lynch, is written on the name tag hangs on a shirt in bad taste.
Who is this man and where is Penelope?
Luke doesn’t participate in the debate, he doesn’t give any contribution. He wakes up only when Emily utters the mantra. -Wheels up in 20.- then he watches JJ approach the man and whisper quietly. She definitely knows him, and Prentiss too, it's obvious from their attitude. Then the blonde goes out and her place is taken by the last woman left in the room.
-I'm Dr. Tara Lewis, nice to meet you.- Lynch smiles, but this doesn’t make him more nice. Matt also shows up and so he realizes that he is forced to do the same, or he’ll seem to have something against this stranger. And even if it's really like that, it's not good for others to know it. Not immediately, at least.
-Luke Alvez.- no kind formula, it would feel hypocritical. The IT has a firmer hold than he would have imagined. In hearing his name seems to light up.
-Alvez, of course! Plum juice told me about you. Don’t worry, I’ll not call you newbie.- he doesn’t know which of the thousand things implied by this sentence should upset him more. Plum juice . It is clearly a nickname related to Garcia and is almost as odious as Derek Morgan's baby girl. Plum j... Penelope, in short, told Lynch about him. And finally... this guy thinks he can make fun of him. No one else in the world can call him that way, except JJ, every now and then...
JJ. He has to talk to her, she surely know something more about him.
-Okay... now, I’m sorry, the jet is about to leave and I wouldn’t want to stay here...- he takes leave with one of the worst excuses that have ever occurred to him. He basically runs to get on board as soon as possible. Just outside he almost crashes against JJ. -Hey, I was looking for you...- but the blonde doesn’t seem to have changed mood.
-Alvez, be more careful. Try to focus on the case, rather than on your girlfriend.- a cold, pungent tone that makes feel Penelope absence even more. JJ had never called him by surname, they were good friends, they often went out in pairs during the missions. -What do you want?- she stands in front of him with folded arms.
- I... nothing, do you know where Garcia is? Is she fine?- Finally, he is forced to ask directly what he really wants to know. The woman bursts into a sour laugh. But she decides to be generous and gives him at least one of the answers.
-She had to leave for personal reasons.- totally aseptic. -Why are you interested in knowing, Alvez?- she approaches him, this time smiling smugly. -Then? Did someone cut your tongue?- Luke shakes his head and almost manages to move her, but then she remembers that at that moment her best friend is about to take a plane and fly away, far away, all alone and the fault is of this wretch she has before her.
He sighs, closes his eyes and when he opens them he stares at her with such intensity that he upsets her. -Because I love her, JJ.- she sees a few tears in the corners of his eyes and realizes it must be something serious.
-Well, you don't show it very well.- she moves away a little. -Anyway, she told me to tell you to look in the first drawer of your desk. And move, Luke, the jet doesn’t wait for anyone.- some shade of sweetness more than the last time. The man opens it without knowing what to expect, but definitely not that.
A black and white puppet in the shape of a cat. And there's a note underneath, he recognizing the convoluted computer technician’ writing, in green. I'm sorry.
What is fashionable, now, I don’t know, until yesterday the instinct was followed... what will remain of us, now I don’t know, I only know that for you, I will not be the same more...
Penelope opens the umbrella and pulls the suitcase up to the airport entrance. It is still raining. She can’t help wondering what is happening in Quantico in the meantime. Has a case arrived? How's Kevin doing? But she must not reflect on these things, otherwise it will change her mind.
She walks through the crowd, trying to go unnoticed. Her heels are not so tall, nor the colorful dress like so many others she had wear previously. But the suitcase is bright pink and the raincoat far too dated. In no way she couldn’t be noticed. Too bad the right person hadn't notice her, not in the way she wanted, at least.
Of course, she made him laugh with her jokes and keeping him at a distance, but... nothing more.
She lines up behind a couple of elderly gentlemen. She observes the way in which both try not to weigh on each other, but at the same time they manage to support each other. The man gives a caress to his wife, who snorts, complaining that her legs hurt. Penelope sighs, takes another step and before she realizes it, she is a few steps from the ticket office. She turns to look back, almost hoping to see Luke appear, running towards her, begging her not to leave him.
Obviously, there is nobody.
-Miss, how can I help you? -
Maybe yes, maybe not, very careful and distracted, you've ever wondered, why it happens that... getting hurt is easier than giving a kiss, for what reason I don’t know, and I... for a while I'll disappear... for a while I'll disappear...
The screen turns on and a man with glasses begins to speak, drawing up a list of the last places visited by the victim. But Luke can’t concentrate. For a moment he had hoped to see her, inside that little box, be able to hear her voice as she said it was all a joke, that she hadn’t left. He had deluded himself so much, how could he?
-Rossi, you and Reid will go to the coroner. Tara, JJ, you talk to Felicia Miller's parents. Simmons, Alvez, you with me from the Wikins.- not even the voice of Emily seems to be able to bring him back to reality. -Luke, are you there?- the man nods. He must strive to be professional, can’t allow other girls to be murdered just because he is stupidly in love and can’t manage his feelings. As soon this case will be solved, the sooner he’ll be able to think about his business. Penelope could never love such a selfish person. He must become the man she deserves to have close.
 The previous evening
For those who had fun in a group and shouted at me “you disgusted me” and now I think, that they no longer laughs... for those who believe to be strong because they can hurt, I say no, nothing at all...
-Penelope, are you absolutely sure that this is what you want? That there is no other solution?- she sees that her best friend is trying hard not to cry and not showing weakness, to not force her to stay if it’s not what she really wants.
-Yes, JJ. I'm sure. I'm sorry, I'd like to be strong enough, be able to pretend it's nothing, but I can’t do it, I'm sorry, really. I know it's selfish, leaving you this way, abandoning you with all the cases... but I've talked to Kevin, he is willing to take care of some cases and if...- JJ interrupts her.
-Don't say that, even in fun! You are the least selfish person in the world! It's just... I'll miss you.- now the eyes of both are limpid. -But we'll do it, you don’t have to worry, just think about recover. Ok?- Penelope doesn’t even try to show herself stronger than she is. She pulls her in a hug.
-I’ll miss you too, my friend. And the others too, to die for, you know. But I need some time to reflect, to understand how to overcome this situation... and I can’t do it here, seeing him every day. I can’t treat him like before, every time I see him I feel like crying and when he smiles I just think it's another, the one that makes him feel so good and... and I should be happy for him, but I can’t. I can’t, JJ, that's not me. I've even been able to forgive Battle and mourn Baylor's death, why it's so hard to accept that...- she swallows but forces herself to say that name. -...that Luke is busy with another woman?- she is crying openly, now, without breaking away from the other blonde.
-At seven o'clock.- Penelope wipes her face with a tissue. -Now it's better if... if I go home, I still have things to do... could you... could you put this in Luke's drawer?- JJ looks at the intrigued puppet. -It's... an antistress kitten that he gave me... after the case in Vermont, that of the boy who was also killing while he was sleepwalker... I know it's a stupid and theatrical thing, but...- the other blonde makes a sign that she understood.
-Ok I will. But you call me when you land, it doesn’t matter what time it is. Okay?- Penelope sighs.
-All right. Bye, JJ. Take care of yourself and... of Will, the guys...- it sounds awfully like a goodbye.
For those who continue to hurt themselves, not loving enough, like you, but perhaps also like me... I look into the eyes of my worst enemy and I don’t let guide from my grudge...
They are walking along the road facing the house of the last victim. Luke seems to have returned to himself and his insights turned out to be correct: Patricia Wilkins had a lover, like the first murdered girl. This doesn’t mean, however, that he has stopped thinking of Penelope, at all. Only she has become a fairly small dot that steadily occupies a corner of his brain, instead of shining in the center and dazzling it.
There is an awkward silence. He decides that to ask a few questions will not be so terrible. He glances at Matt and then at his boss. -Prentiss?- the woman turns immediately to him. Of course, she spoke to JJ, both before and after this case arrived, both later, when they were about to land. But unlike the blonde she wasn’t surprised, the first time Luke introduced himself to O'Keef with another woman. That Lisa didn’t even look bad, her only real flaw was... not being Garcia. Not realizing that Alvez's heart (and mind) were already busy, but... at least someone else had to be notice of it during that evening. Penelope couldn’t take her eyes away from the couple and finally ran into the bathroom, to re-emerge only half an hour later and... without makeup. Definitely shocking.
The whole universe had realized that IT had a serious crush on the Newbie and that the latter was even worse... except those directly involved, of course. Yet, she couldn’t see only in negative the fact that Luke was going out with another. What really mattered here was that he had started going out again, that he was ready to get back on the market... to hang out with someone. Of course he couldn’t go directly to the subject of his desires, the "true goal", as they would say if it were an unsub, but he had to look around, start with something simpler, less intense and busy... and Emily had even hoped that this could help Garcia herself to unblock herself, to understand the depth of her feelings and take a minimum step, because she could also lose him...
This was until her doorbell rang at eleven o'clock in the evening and a Penelope with the smudged makeup had not put a ball of black fur in her arms. Only asking her excuse and giving her shortly after a letter, on rosy paper, but no less official.
A temporary leave? Yet, there was just written like that.
-Why you're interested, Luke?– she chooses to prolong the agony a little bit. She also wants to see how far he is willing to push himself for know. How far he is willing to expose himself, to make others understand what he feels, to feed his jealousy. He looks her in the eye and doesn’t look away. A lot, I'd say.
-Well, he called her...- she sees the man's Adam's apple going up and down as he strives to pronounce that nickname. -... plum juice and he told me that Garcia spoke to him about me. I just assumed that.- she can’t be so bad, he deserves to know the truth.
-Yes, Kevin and Garcia have been together almost for four years.- the eyes of the Latin agent are wide open beyond measure, eyebrows raised in the most sincere and surprise expression she has ever seen. A little like when he found out that a wretch had shot her, after a date. -They've been on-again, off-again for the past few years. And the last time... it happened because she didn’t agree to marry him.- well, this she shouldn’t have said it, but how could she resist to not have the satisfaction? Alvez must have known that there was a man out there who wished to make their computer' technician as his wife, who had loved her so much. Because yes, it's clear that Luke also loves Penelope, but... but he must never forget the luck he would get if she allowed him to love her. She is one of her best friends, a person too important, strong, but also terribly fragile and it’s her duty to protect her. Also, she is co-mom of her cat.
The man's legs refuse to move when he hears that word. Marry. The image of Penelope in a white dress flashes him. Her smooth, blond hair around her face, making her look even more like an angel. The frame of the clear, almost transparent glasses and the light makeup, because she doesn’t need it, to be beautiful. And shoes, shoes high, but not in an exaggerated way, on the other hand exalting terribly the neck of her foot. Nothing else, no other frills. The only accessory she would wear is her smile.
-Hey, Alvez, are you there, are you okay?- maybe she has a little exaggerated.
One, I always look forward and I don’t give up; two, if I tell you you're the top, I'm lying...
She sits down at the spot marked on her note, next to a decidedly handsome man, with dark hair, slightly curls. If it were not for a pair of blue glasses, he could almost be mistaken for Luke. Damn it, why she can’t stop thinking about him? What's the point to fly miles away from him, if her heart has remained in Quantico?
He had find it, the kitten? If she closes her eyes, she can vividly relive the moment when he gave it to her... the way he had smiled at her, the nuances of his voice... what he had told her. Everything had led her to believe that... he was not just a slightly too careful colleague. And how had she reciprocated him? Reminding him that she wouldn’t stop tormenting him, even if he had shown careful about her, taking care of Reid.
How stupid!
-Attention, we are about to start the take-off phase. Please turn off your electronic devices and fasten your seat belts until the plane will reached a steady position.- Penelope hurries to execute and while she sends her cell phone to sleep, she is disappointed to see that there aren't messages from him. But why does she still hope to receive a signal?
-First time you flies?- she jumps, hearing her neighbor's voice. He is smiling at her and seems very kind.
-No, but I can’t get used to it.- she replies, trying to force the heart to regain a regular heartbeat. The stranger's eyes are brown, but slightly clearer than Luke's. Luke. All roads lead to him.
Maybe yes, maybe not, very careful and distracted, you've ever wondered, why it happens that... getting hurt is easier than giving a kiss, for what reason I don’t know, and I... for a while I'll disappear... for a while I'll disappear...
Luke can’t conceive how much he misses her. It’s not just the need to hear some joke, stupid or joyful, but always apt, or about jealousy, challenge, sense of revenge. No, it’s only about love, the word that have always scared him. He had always tried to avoid it, but he wasn't able to stop himself from falling in love with her. She managed to penetrate his skin, to change everything, every attitude, every thought. If he hadn’t met her in that elevator, cold and willing to convince him of the talents of her Canadian boyfriend, would he accept Hotch's proposal to join the BAU? He doubts it, and so much. Surely when he met her he was already doing a little thought about it, even if to Rossi he had said the opposite. But she, Penelope, had been decisive.
They all get on the jet. They go back home. But it's not home, if she's not there to wait for them, with some drink or big proclamations, and O'Keef without her laughter... it's just another place to feel alone. That's why he makes the decision to talk to JJ and understand why she has problem with him. It’s certain that it concerns Garcia, so he has twice reasons for doing so.
-Hey, JJ, can we talk for a moment?- the blonde looks up at him and then moves to Prentiss. She nods and follows him in the drinks area. She puts her arms folded and stares at him, waiting. -Would you tell me what I did to you? You've been strange since before we left, and I have a theory. Do you want to hear it?- she doesn’t answer. -I think it's about Garcia and, also the reason she left the team overnight. And I think that Emily also knows it, but she has an opinion different from yours, because she didn’t treat me like you...- the blonde explodes.
-Ok, what the hell! You're right, it's Garcia!- she pushes him away. -It's your fault, Alvez and I'm not like her, I'm not understanding and sweet like Penelope, so I'll never stop hating you for having hurt her.- her eyes are bright, but out of anger, not for the pain.
-I... I would never have…- she doesn’t let him finish talking, of course. Their screams are heard in the armchairs, but Emily signals the others to take no notice.
-Maybe not consciously, but you did it anyway, the result doesn’t change.- he realizes that she is trying to calm down. -With all those looks, those smiles, those attentions that you have dedicated her... do you think I’m an idiot, Luke? Do you really think I didn’t notice anything? Why grab her remote-control and play with it before leaving it to her, why smiling sly when she called you newbie, why help her get off the sidewalk, console her for Reid, give her that damn kitten... take her to your friend with that pet...- while she talks, he blushes. But JJ doesn’t seem to be left in the slightest move. -I wonder, in fact, I ask you... why do all these things and then go out with another woman? Engage with another but don’t stop flirting with Garcia? And then, the worst crime: bringing her to O'Keef. Will never comes with us. That's our space, Luke, ours, only BAU, do you understand?- she runs a hand across her face.-Yes, I understand...- but the blonde shakes her head.
-No, you didn’t, otherwise you wouldn’t have brought Lisa. What did you think, Alvez, when you were with her? Why make fun of two women? I know you now, and you're not like that, you're not that kind of man... So? Why tease Garcia, deceive her that way and then find another one? Answer me, for the love of heaven!- Luke tries to stem her outburst by taking her by the shoulders.
-I don’t know, JJ, I swear. I didn’t even want to go out with Lisa, it was Phil who has organized everything and forced me. I... I didn’t do it on purpose, nothing. Until... until Lisa told me that Garcia had staring at me all the time and that it was perfectly clear that she was in love with me... I swear, I didn’t realize it, neither about what I felt, nor about that what she felt. I'm... I was so blind and stupid, but I never wanted to hurt her, never, never. She is a miracle on earth and I would be ecstatic if only I could hear her voice one more time, even if she told me I'm an asshole.- JJ yields and hugs him, but also gives him some pat on the back.
-I don’t know if I can forgive you anyway, for making her feel bad, whether you were conscious of it or not. You said it, she's a miracle and deserves someone who is aware of it and that treat her like a queen.- they break away and Luke looks down, obviously not feeling up to that task. -And you're, for the hell, that person. So, find her, please, and bring her back to us. It's an order.-
And if the pain prevails, it will make more sense... this will disappear, it’s what I think, what it means, what it means, that I have suffocated... only the need of who, has not forgotten you, and I... for a while, I will disappear...
The heart is about to come out of her chest. She doesn’t care that others understand. She shows too much apprehension to be just a colleague, who for the most part has never given a single sign of having accepted him in the team. Nothing counts, at this moment, except know, checking with her own eyes that he is fine. She doesn’t greet them almost and rushes to the room where they told her she will find him. She opens the door with a click, because otherwise she would remain on the threshold indefinitely, without finding the courage to take that step.
He is covered up to his armpits by a white sheet and looks terribly thin, small and fragile, as she had ever seen him. And his skin is so strange. The arms abandoned along the body, motionless. And closed eyelids.
-Luke.- she moans, taking his hand and intertwining their fingers. It's cold, of course. The memory of that nickname snatches a smile from her. -I can’t leave you alone one day, see what you do without me.- with the other, she touches his hair. So many time she wanted to sink her fingers and now she can do it... -Please, Luke, lift those eyelids and show me your beautiful dark eyes...- no change. If there wasn’t that machine that continues to beep, she would doubt that she is still alive. The chest lifts so slowly... -It was my fault, I know, I should not have left, but I needed it, I don’t know if you'll be able ever to understand or forgive me, but I couldn’t stay and see you... happy with another woman. I love you too much, yes, exactly, too much. Not like I love others, not even Derek. I'm... I'm jealous of you, although... even if the most important thing is that you feel good, because you deserve it, you are such a good boy and I... I tried to deny it with all of myself, and it has nothing to do with the fact that you have taken the Morgan's place. It has to do with that I can’t afford to be in love with you, and I was right... you found a wonderful person, both outside and inside and...- now she is openly crying, tears running down, crossing her cheeks and a go directly on the inert hand of man. But without making any sound, only from time to time she is forced to stop because the lump in her throat becomes too tight. -But now if you open your eyes and... you insult me or give any sign of life, I promise I’ll return to work for the BAU and I’ll stay close to you, for what I can, even if I have to see you marry Lisa...- she lets go his hand and bends over to place a kiss on his forehead. Another tear falls from the female face on the male one and ends on his lips. She doesn’t even try to capture it, if anything like this would happens... she doesn’t want their first kiss will be like that.
Then she hears like a whisper. She notices that it comes from Luke. Both the lips and the eyelids are pulsing, then the eyes open wide, but he doesn’t seem to be able to focus on her. He coughes a little.
-Luke! You woke up, I knew you would not have left us.- she jumps and screams. She would like to throw her arms around his neck, but in his condition, she understands that this is not the case. She is forced to stop because he keeps trying to say something. She places her ear close to his mouth to hear better.
-Pe... Pen... Penelope...- she warns other tears ready to be poured. He is saying her name! She moves away and smiles at him. Even the man's lips bend in a slight smile.
-Yes, it's me, I'm here, everything's ok! Now I'm going to call a nurse, somebody, so everything will be all right, okay?- she turns and starts to move away, but a slight squeeze on her wrist forces her to turn back.
-No... please... don’t... go...- she turns to him and nods. She doesn’t have time to do anything else, because the door opens, and a brunette woman enters, who rushes towards Luke, almost crashing Penelope. Lisa.
-Oh, love, you woke up, I was so worried!- she throws herself on him and starts kissing him, but the man doesn’t seem particularly happy. He doesn’t close his eyes, on the contrary, he continues to look at his colleague. He almost seems to ask for help. Then, finally she separates and seems to realize that they aren’t alone. -Hey, Penelope, why don’t you go call someone? I stay with my boyfriend.- there is something bad, however, in the tone of the brunette. And as she continues to stare at her, her face is deformed, her mouth widening like that of Pennywise in IT. Sharp teeth and long fingernails like claws.
Penelope remains paralyzed and can’t even scream.
But in the real world it succeeds. And so, doing wake up her travel companion and not just him. It takes some time to reassure everyone. She looks out the window, they are so high up that the cities below them look like a myriad of glowing dots. A perverse thought comes to her mind. Luke would never come back for me, to save me, he would never do miles and miles just to see me and make sure I'm fine. But she would do it. Love, sometimes, is just disgusting.
The anxiety is such that as soon as she lands she does exactly what JJ had asked her, calls her, to make sure everything is going well and that the dream was only that: a fantasy elaborated by her mind. After breathing a sigh of relief, she walks along the streets of the city where she grew up, before her parents died, that she was adopted. San Francisco.
Every street, every signboard brings back memories, even if many things have changed, so many shops have closed, and new ones have appeared. She doesn’t even know why she chose this place. There's nothing left and no one for her here.
She looks at the sign with a cross on it and sighs.
She comes in, her feet direct her to the right place, even though there has been so few times. Too few. She kneels, leaving herself almost to fall on the ground and caresses the headstone, the gold writing and the photographs. -Mom, dad, I'm home.-
Maybe yes, maybe not, very careful and distracted, you've ever wondered, why it happens that... getting hurt is easier than giving a kiss, for what reason I don’t know, and I... for a while I'll disappear... for a while I'll disappear...
A race against time. His life after they land at Quantico becomes exactly this. Rushing at the airport, boarding the plane and counting the minutes that are missing at the landing. But San Francisco isn’t around the corner and therefore he is forced to yield. Falls asleep. And he has a strange dream, where he is in a coma-like state, even though he has never experienced such a sensation. He senses everything around him, he even sees it, but his eyes are tight. He notices when Penelope enters his room, when she takes his hand and starts to explain to him that he must wake up, because she loves him even if he is with Lisa, even if she is not the one he wants close to him. He tries with all his strength to open his eyes, but he can’t, some strange force prevents him. And then she starts crying and to be not able to console her is too much. A tear ends up on his eyelids and as if by magic he finally manages to raise them. And she smiles at him, she's so beautiful... he would like to tell her, along with many other things, but then enters Lisa, even if she looks more like a witch and she hugs him, hurting him and then kisses him and sends Penelope away and he doesn’t want to but can’t stop her and then...
Black. Someone shaking his shoulder. A hostess. They have landed. He has arrived.
And then the race begins again. Where will she be? The irony of the situation is that the data that are in his possession there were come out right from Kevin. By now the man has resigned himself to have losing Garcia (if he ever really had had her) and it seems that he is about to getting married to a certain Gina. However, this isn’t what interests him. No close relatives of Penelope reside in San Francisco. So, there is only one place where she may have felt the need to go.
He knew it well before he landed. Without knowing a rational reason. Instinct or maybe something else. He walks hurriedly, without running. He makes the sign of the cross, then wanders among the tombs for a while, before finding a custodian. Explain that he is looking for a friend's parents, who should be buried here. Unfortunately, he doesn’t know their real surname, because Kevin couldn’t find this information. Probably Penelope has found a way to censor and block some parts of her personal file. The same succeeds in obtaining the desired result. The caretaker remembers her. She was such a sweet and pretty girl, how could anyone forget her?
His eyes are throbbing, as he turns the corner, ready to face her, even if she’ll decide to insult him, if she’ll tell him it's too late, it's out of time, that she can never forgive him... he's prepared for everything. He is also ready to make the most of the sacrifices: leave the BAU, where he has found a family, his own place, in order to make return her to Quantico. It must not be her, the one who leaves.
He is prepared for everything... but not for the possibility of not finding her. He looks the smiling faces of Penelope's parents. From her mother she took those big eyes, from dad instead her blond hair. His lips fold in a sweet smile. He reads the written sentence under the date of death.
From my rotting body, flowers shall grow and I am in them and that is eternity. [Edvard Munch]
Definitely Garcia sack flour. Then notice something resting on the marble. A photo. It rained, before he arrived, and also very strong. In fact, it is faded, swollen with water and also quite crumpled. But he recognizes it instantly. It portrays a brown-haired man, a blonde woman and a shepherd dog. He doesn’t look towards the goal but towards her, as if she were a divine apparition. And her eyes are low, on the animal. Nor did she notice it. They aren’t perfectly in the picture because he has never been able to do these things. But he had so insisted that she finally gave in. And after seeing the photo on the computer, she had asked (kindly) to make two copies. One for her. But just because it portrays me and Roxy, don’t get your head up.
The other copy is on his desk. Next to the statuette of a dog and a black and white rubber cat.
He shakes his head and giggles, hearing again that phrase with her tone and even the punch on the arm she had given him. Penelope isn’t here, but she has been there.
Now he has just to find her.

‘Radio Excursion is not for the Feeble’: Inside the first step to country music stardom
ATLANTA — The moments tick by in a chilly conference room to a sunny afternoon earlier in the year since country singer Carly Pearce stands for a small point. Her fingers brush over her white and blue beaded bracelets, wrapped around a tattoo on the inside of her left wrist that reads, “She believed she might so she did so.” She got the years ago, after she lost her record deal, so after she played guitar, so she’d look down and watch the words and believe her career was not over before it really began.
Currently, Pearce, 27, has another record deal. The afternoon she signed with Big Machine Tag Group in January, a bottle of champagne popped out of the entire year Taylor Swift combined the label. Pearce, he stated, might be “the most important female artist we’ve signed since Taylor.”
Because a record price is simply the beginning therefore the pressure is really on. Currently, Pearce must impress three individuals in this conference room in the Bull (94.9 FM), among Atlanta’s country stations.
The program director arrives. Does the music director. They sit and wait for the program director. Except he never shows up. He is pulled into another assembly.
They can add their own stations and your music if you are liked by program directors. It could move from mild to moderate. If enough stations follow suit, your song will climb to No. 1 on the charts, which means that your label could eventually release your debut record. Then, you can move to opener on the stage. You might get nominated for awards and earn records. You grow to be a country star, and finally can launch your club tour an arena tour.
It is a long road for the individuals who make it, one that is deeply ingrained in the very traditional Nashville system. With the exception of a couple artists, radio airplay is critical to mainstream country success. Even an era of Spotify YouTube and curated playlists — radio would be the gatekeeper. And it all starts with a radio tour.
For weeks, singers such as Pearce travel thousands of miles around America to present themselves and play with audio for radio programmers. They focus on the approximately 172 country stations whose evaluations constitute the Billboard and Mediabase charts (out of approximately 1,850 total from the nation).
This Nashville rite of passage is the modern day version of door-to-door sales. Each one may cost a label hundreds of thousands of dollars. And there is simply no guarantee that it will get the job done.
Country music is your radio format behind Top 40 and adult contemporary, in the nation, reaching 68 million listeners a week, according to Nielsen. The singers of the genre and the association between nation radio has always been uniquely close although pop stars tend to go to hip hop artists and the big markets also channels that are regular.
In a structure that puts a premium on credibility and connecting with listeners, access is not only valued, but it is also anticipated. A solid bond with radio may go quite a distance for career durability. At this year’s Country Radio Seminar seminar in Nashville, Vince Gill called a group of programmers “a room filled with individuals who are accountable to all of our fantasies, in a way. … We are beholden for you.”
Those relationships begin with radio tours, which is traced back into the 1960s, when Loretta Lynn drove about to ask stations to perform “I am a Honky Tonk Girl.” The tours are an advantage to programmers, who have limited space to perform songs on their own stations. They state the chance to satisfy new functions early on (Could they actually sing? Are they personable? Can they go the distance?) Is invaluable. Radio is in the advertising business — it must pay off if stations make an investment in a single artist.
Singers describe radio tour as an exciting means to travel the nation while meeting with new folks, but it grueling. You’re basically on multiple job interviews daily and under stress who you are repeatedly advised hold the keys. As newcomer and Kernersville (N.C.) native Chris Lane, 32, set it, “Radio tour is not for the weak.”
It entails hours in a car or bus or a plane, traveling with a regional radio agent. You may begin at the crack of dawn using before a visit to one channel in the morning, another meeting or 2 with a channel that runs late at night in the afternoon, and possibly dinner. Then you need to be up in a couple of hours to journey.
Performances change. Some stations encourage listeners and have phases, or your operation is streamed by them . If they have partnerships with businesses — such as a shop, a home goods expo or a restaurant — they will ask you to perform there, too.
“The thing that you can not truly be ready for is the absence of sleep,” said Brett Young, 36, a breakout superstar whose rapid success meant a tour beyond a more typical 12-week period. “I’ve got some fantastic friendships with program directors and music directors. However, you do reach the end of a nine-month elongate like this, and the body starts falling apart.”
Another artist talked to the doctor in a strange town, where he discovered that his pain was a symptom of fatigue.
They don’t receive a daily pace during radio tour although singers receive an improvement when they sign up a deal. Even though the label initially foots the bill for the costs (it changes, but they can run $7,000 to $10,000 per week) for things including traveling and carrying channel staffers outside for foods or drinks, the label can usually recoup that money out of the artist’s future earnings.
“Radio tour has been the hardest time in my entire life,” Kelsea Ballerini, 23, recently told radio host Bobby Bones on his podcast. “I was tired. You don’t get paid, and everybody around that you do. … I recall there was one stage where I could not pay my rent once I got home. Plus it was actually through my (Grand Ole) Opry debut, and all of my loved ones members and friends were all there, and that I was just like: ‘Can I ask my parents to pay my rent? What can I do? ”’
Ballerini’s 22-week radio trip has been worth it. Last year, she became the very first woman in country music history to have her first three singles move to No. 1, which fueled her debut record, “The First Time,” into gold-certified status. Back in February, she had been nominated for best new artist in the Grammy Awards.
That is the light in the end of the tunnel that artists expect for — in your home, the alternate is sitting as emphasize, not playing with your own music.
“Everyone warned us, ‘This is among the most strenuous things you have ever achieved,”’ stated Johnny McGuire. He is a member of the duo Walker McGuire with Jordan Walker; they stumbled on a radio tour to promote their very first single, “Til Tomorrow. ”“But in the end of the afternoon, Jordan and I … we are doing what we’ve always wanted to perform. I believe it. For us, it is not bad. We adore it.”
Walker agreed. “That seems so far-fetched five decades ago when I moved into city,” he said. “Thinking to myself, ‘My song will be on country radio.’ That would’ve been mad to consider. I am getting choked up thinking about it.”
When Brian Michel, the Atlanta program director, dominates her operation Pearce takes it in stride. (Later, Michel says that he wishes he could have already been there, but he trusts his coworkers to report back to him.) Still, even after she sings to the other radio employees — who burst into enthusiastic applause — also sits for a channel interview in which the assistant program director, Angie Ward, dubs her a singer who has “a beautiful smile and a beautiful voice,” an uneasy silence falls over Pearce’s staff as they walk out of the building. This wasn’t how the visit, scheduled long ago, was likely to perform.
However they shake it off. Since they need to head into the Atlanta channel that is next.
Pearce gives the narrative of a singer on radio tour who conducted a trackto get the center is left from by the program director. When it comes to radio tours, Pearce has now learned to “expect the unexpected.”
It is the way the Kentucky native has approached her whole career. After she moved to Nashville at age 19 she landed a publishing deal, and then a record deal that fell through. The buzz around her vanished, while she figured out her next move, and that she babysat and cleaned Airbnb leasing components.
A hit pop producer looking to work with country singers, with Busbee, her publisher place her in 2015. They clicked promptly and, with Emily Shackelton, composed “Every Little Thing,” a haunting ballad about an unsuccessful connection. The song started selling 6,000 copies a week last year, when the subway, SiriusXM’s nation channel, place it. Borchetta had been in contact, also Pearce’s career has been. She is an actress on the tour, that will halt in early March in Greensboro of Blake Shelton.
A song in the singer is risky from country radio’s world — and girls already have a difficult time getting airplay. But in the middle of the radio tour, “Every Little Thing” landed the coveted “On the Verge” differentiation from iHeartMedia radio group, so all of the company’s country stations are expected to play with it a definite number of times.
“I was just eight years in to city, occasionally laying down in night going, ‘Is it going to happen? ”’ Pearce stated. “I believe I had to be reminded to just stay authentic and never pursue acceptance out of Music Row. Because in the end of the evening, they could see through it, and thus can the listener.”
Software managers reiterate that it all comes down to the quality of the audio; although should they meet with an artist who shines in individual, it could give that behave an edge.
“If you are respectful and treat individuals with kindness no matter what, you are always seen in a positive light,” said MoJoe Roberts, program director for the Bull (98.7 FM) in Portland, Oregon. “(That is) almost any artist, or some other individual in any type of work.”
However, stated Kris Daniels, program director for the Coyote (102.7 FM) in Las Vegas, “When the song … doesn’t test well, it doesn’t matter how good their character is.”
Although singers hesitate to openly say anything adverse about radio for fear of the effects, behind closed doors there’s discussion of radio tour “horror stories”– including dismissive radio staffers and offensive remarks, particularly toward young female singers.
Programmers have anecdotes of individuals who come through the channel who act inappropriately, or who aren’t ready for prime time.
Many artists are scared of doing anything — even unintentionally — radio may offend. Ryan Hurd, a brand new artist whose debut single is “Love in a Bar,” remembers when he had to cancel a visit because he had to come home to Nashville for private reasons. He and his supervisor were really worried to inform the channel about it.
“We were really nervous since the perception is that in the event you scorn radio — ever — that is the shot, you got it,” Hurd said.
But the staffers agreed to reschedule and knew the situation when the channel was called by his supervisor. It was a lesson.
Radio tour “has turned into such a reputation for being hard and for being so much harsher than it actually is, that you forget these are real men and women who still love music,” Hurd said. “There is a human element to the that we often overlook.”
For Pearce, the afternoon stop in Atlanta is in the Cumulus Media headquarters, which brings her. About a dozen folks sit in chairs, listening expectantly.
Following the radio agent of her label presents her — it is a fast visit, she has only a couple of seconds.
“If you have known me for five minutes, that y’all have, it is time I want to inform you I have a true obsession with red wine,” she said, introducing “Hide the Wine.” The men and women in the room murmur. “And occasionally you make decisions that are questionable while under the influence of red wine.”
To shut the performance, ” she tells the backstory of “Every Little Thing”: “I wrote this song about a guy who broke his heart a couple of decades ago, and wanted to carry you on a trip of my personal story.” She belts from the ballad, followed by her backup musicians:
“Guess you forgot what you told mepersonally, because you left my heart onto the floor
“Baby, your ghost still bothers me, however I don’t need to sleep with him no longer”
The small audience claps loudly. Some depart the space quickly to return to their workplaces, while some disagree, making small talk and asking Pearce if she will take a photo.
She can not stay since she must fly into Florida. South Carolina, subsequently Colorado, then back to Florida Nevada, and then on and off, whereas her staff operates the phones back into Nashville, calling stations and urging them to perform Carly Pearce. And therefore it is going to last because finally it is going to result in her fantasy.
“Radio tour has become the most exciting, exhausting, special, hilarious thing I’ve ever done,” she said. “That is all I’ve ever wanted.”

It’s good to be uncomfortable guys.
#metooTo be honest, I feel like a bit of a jerk weighing in on this. If anything, us middle class, white, straight, privileged men seem to have a lot of opinions on pretty much everything, including and especially on what groups (that don't consist of us) should be allowed to have and put up with. We’ll also always insist on that opinion being heard. So in tradition, here is that opinion:
I have no idea what it’s like to be a woman in society (duh) so I'm just going to work with what I am. A man. I could question the #metoo movement (and should) but the problem is women that I know, respect and more importantly, trust, keep posting #metoo. Some just the hashtag, some with explanations and some with fucking horrible incidents as little as a couple of weeks ago. I have two feelings from this. The first is heartbreak because these are people I care about. The second feeling is something that us men aren’t used to but is the bread and butter of this whole movement.
It’s made me feel uncomfortable.
My bet is that for most women, my few tinges of uncomfortability is basically a joke. A bit like a third degree burn victim sending condolences for someone that stubbed their toe. So ladies, look away because this isn’t for you.
Fellas.
This feeling of being uncomfortable, I think it’s a good thing. A sign we’re moving in the right direction. Maybe us blokes should keep a look out for that feeling? We could call out a friend or boss even. We could talk about shitty advertising, bad jokes and casual sexism. We've had media, for as long as I can remember, that pits human women next to cars, chocolate, insurance and every other thing available, it makes them out to be objects. I can't help but think that this in turn makes women feel ashamed for not being impossibly "perfect" and it makes men lose sight of the person and just see an unobtainable object with no feelings. I can't help but think that we've been sold an idea of women as objects in media, and it pops up in our workplaces, in friendship groups (social media included) and at the pub. It's a bit of the chicken and the egg, or a perpetuating wheel that keeps turning. It's totally bullshit and destructive and maybe now's a good time to stop it.
So what do we do? Call it out. Say "this ad is bullshit", or "sorry buddy but what you just said was dumb and misogynistic". It's going to suck. Your mates, fathers and co-workers will probably look at you like you're an idiot. But just like the Same Sex Marriage debate happening all over the world, this is your chance to be remembered as being the first. For history to be kind to you. So get in there. Be brave! Be remembered.
Right before leaving Australia I joined this group called the Tough Guy Book Club. It’s for men only. It’s NOT a support group or a new age cult. It’s just a bunch of guys talking about books. That’s it. I was surprised to realise that some of the smartest conversation can come from unlikely places given the demographic of the members.
Recently one of the members wrote something aimed at us men about harassment of women and how it’s not going to be easy for us blokes to call it out but it’s the right thing to do. I’ve copied it in below (with his permission) because he said it beautifully and we should all have a read.
Here’s Frank:
"So many--too many--#metoo tags posted by women I admire, respect and love yesterday. Made me think of this from my younger days. I apologise for the lengthy post... Back in the 1990's, when I was just starting my career in insurance claims, I was recruited by a company located in Sherman Oaks, CA. (Just to be CLEAR, this was a DIFFERENT company than my CURRENT employer.) The move included a big pay raise and an assistant that I shared with another claims examiner. (That was a HUGE incentive!) The assistant was a woman named Claire. She was a struggling actress, in her early 40's, with brilliant red hair and an elegant flair. Not only was she extremely nice and a pleasure to work with, she was incredibly efficient and made my life very easy in that cube farm. One day, Claire came to me with tears in her eyes and asked if she could speak with me in private. We went into the empty breakroom and she told me the VP of Claims, Jack P., was coming around her desk every day and making her feel very uncomfortable. She said Jack was making inappropriate comments about her appearance and recently asked her to lunch. Claire said she tried to make it clear that she was not interested but that Jack was getting increasingly aggressive and would not take no for an answer. Claire asked for my help. I was probably 35 years old and really didn't know what to do. Jack was a swaggering, corpulent, bully of a man in his late 50's. Human Resource departments back in that time didn't address sexual harassment issues like they do today, so I had no clue what I could do about the situation. I was the lowest man on the totem pole and Jack was a top executive. All I knew was that my friend was being victimized and was asking for my help. The next day, when Jack came sauntering out onto the floor from his upstairs office, I followed him to Claire's desk. I stood there while he tried to ooze his smarm all over her. What a disgusting pig of a man. He noticed me standing there and asked if I needed something. "Yes, I do," I replied, looking Jack squarely in the eye. "I need my assistant to help me with these payments ASAP. We have LOTS of work to do." Old Jack was FURIOUS, but what could he say? We DID have lots of work to do. He huffed away and went back upstairs. Throughout the week, I followed Jack to Claire's desk every single time he rolled through the elevator. It was very clear what was going on to all involved. Not a shadow of a doubt. On Friday, Jack's face turned beet red and if looks could kill, I would have been a dead man. He stormed off and we didn't see him for a while, but I knew my days were numbered. Claire found a new job soon thereafter and I departed about six months later. No, everything didn't work out in the end. Is that what you thought? Nope. Things went completely off the rails, and here's where the moral of my story comes in for all you men out there. I'm not seeking any pats on the back for doing the right thing. We should ALWAYS do the right, regardless of the consequences, BUT sometimes there ARE consequences. About a year into my new job, I got a phone call at my desk. "Hi, Frank. Do you know who this is? It's Jack..." Jack's company had bought out my NEW employer. A "hostile takeover", actually. I was the first person Jack called to tell. You see, Jack held grudges. He held grudges in a BIG way. Everyone else I worked with got laid off that day and were given generous severance packages. Not me. Jack kept me around. He had an example to make out of me. I had to travel 100 miles to work in the Orange, CA office, far away from my wife and young children. A workspace was set up for me...in a storage room. (Seriously, you can't make this shit up.) Jack and his little toady, Kevin, mentally tortured me every day for about six months. They told me my job was "temporary" and I had to "prove myself" to them. They would come down to the storage room once a day to check in on me and get a nice chuckle out of their handiwork. I could go on and on about the insults and indignities heaped on me, but this post isn't about me. Gratefully, I was able to find another job. Right now, I'm addressing the men out there. Please don't take my story the wrong way. If I had to do it all over again, the ONLY thing I would do differently is perhaps punch Jack in the nose. I paid a price for doing the right thing, but that was nothing compared to the price paid by women who have to silently endure the outrage of sexual harassment. Yes, you may have to pay a price for speaking up and taking action, BUT DO IT ANYWAY! The silence and inaction of good men enables the bad men to keep doing this kind of thing to women over and over and over. Absolutely, there were many men who knew what Harvey Weinstein was doing. Absolutely, there were many men who knew what Jack P. was doing and they DID nothing. They SAID nothing! I read Jack P's obituary in a trade paper a few years ago. All glowing praise for his many, many accomplishments. Certainly, no mention of what I imagine were the dozens of women he victimized during his stellar career. I wish his legacy more accurately represented the son of a bitch he really was. Well, that's the story. If you read through to the end, I commend your tenacity. It's quite a missive by Facebook standards. Do the right, thing, okay? Wouldn't it be wonderful to put a dent in all those #metoo’s?"
