Every night, Clarke and Lexa tuck Madi into bed. Madi is going through her animal phase so she won't fall asleep until her moms read her favorite animal book to her. Clarke and Lexa chuckle because they've already read this same book about 20 times to her. Their daughter is just obsessed with animals

What's even more adorable is that Madi still has trouble saying the names of the animals. She just makes their sounds whenever her moms point to one in her book. She growls and says "Rawr" when Clarke points to a lion. When Lexa points to an elephant, she puckers her lips and blows making a trumpet sound.

Little does Madi know that tomorrow is a special day because her mom's are planning something special for her. They've been planning on taking Madi to the zoo so she can see her favorite animals in person.

Madi is super excited at breakfast when her moms spill the big surprise. Madi squeals with laughter as bits of chocolate chip pancakes fall out of her mouth. She reaches out for them from her high chair wanting to kiss her mommies as a thank you. When she's in Lexa's arms and being hugged behind from Clarke, Madi let's out an adorable "I wub you mama and mommy!" 🥺

It's a bright and sunny day at the zoo when they finally arrive. Madi begged Clarke to let her dress up like Lexa. Like her mommy, Madi is wearing a cute explorer's outfit complete with the khaki shorts and large bucket hat. Clarke opted to wear a flowy summer dress. They are just the cutest family at the zoo.

They go from exhibit to exhibit looking at all the cool animals. She "rawrs" at the lions and tigers. She "oo oo ah ah" at the monkeys. She chirps and whistles at the birds when they land on her head and arm, drinking from the sugar cup in her hands. She blows bubbles at the dolphins when they spin in front of her in the tank. She waddles like the penguins when she sees them. Her favorite exhibit is the petting zoo where her moms show her how to gently pet all the animals like the cute goats, pigs, lambs, and ducks. She even gets to ride a pony with both her moms taking turns with her.

Before they leave, Madi is allowed to buy one toy from the gift shop. She has a hard time choosing only one because they're all so cute. Clarke and Lexa snap a photo of Madi thinking deeply about her decision. Madi finally chooses a soft lion plushie and names him "Mrs. Rawr." She's beaming with excitement as she babbles nonsense to her on the trip back home.

When it's bed time, Madi starts a new tradition where she reads her favorite animal book (with her moms' help of course) to Mrs. Rawr. She dreams of her special lion family that night.

Lexa and Madi dressed as explorers 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 Lexa definitely has a lot of fun facts (that's she's definitely not reading out of the little booklet they got at the ticket lady) that she tells Madi and makes her think her mom is the animal kingdom master.

Mrs Rawrs is one of those plushies that stays with Madi all the way until college. Lexa and Clarke thing she got rid of it ages ago during her 'too cool for stuffed animals' phase, but then they go to visit her at her dorm, and there's the little stuffed lion, sitting on her bed. She holds it when she misses home or when she feels a little too overwhelmed and wishes she could get a hug from one of her moms
