#chrissy speaks #to ramble in the tags a little #uh all the titles have like a lower level and an upper level #and the title above senior is principal #whiiich... id estimate maybe 30% of engineers ever make principal?#thats including manager so like. for non-managers. maybe 20%?#anyway the point being that most engineer tap out their career inside senior #either lower or upper band #and even the really good engineers i know who made principal quickly #still had like 3-4 years between making senior and making principal #and i made senior last year #so i was expecting at LEAST a 2 year gap between making senior and making upper band #was not expecting to make upper band with such quick turn around...#so im now one level below principal #wahoo

#simblr #ts4 legacy #valentine gen 4 #fun fact for context on why i care so much abt him finally choosing to play the piano on his own #but it's gonna get Long so strap in #basically. the guitar he used to have had been with him since he was like...... my god. probably about 15 #he bought it at a yard sale for pennies from an older woman #it belonged to her late son originally and it wasn't even . supposed to be a part of the sale in the first place. she just took a liking to #devin and figured that really it's better in the hands of someone who would use it than for it to collect dust in her garage forever #and he couldn't really practice at home. his parents... are not exactly the kindest people you've ever seen #he was too afraid of them destroying or throwing it away so he'd sneak off to god knows where and learn how to play it from old #youtube videos on his busted up phone #it quickly became Everything to him. his most prized possession. and it wasn't a shitty guitar either. the son was a professional musician #that's how ellie and devin met in the first place. he was playing at the market she used to sneak out to in the evenings to #and she instantly knew . this boy is going places and really they might as well go together #enough backstory of the backstory. long story short: he was struggling to make rent eventually and was out of vinyls to pawn off #so he had no choice left. it was either that or he'd get kicked out along with his sister. who was still struggling a lot w/ addiction #so he sold it. and it broke him. he's literally just not been the same since losing it #his sister stole him a guitar from a music shop she'd go to sometimes but it just wasn't the same and he had not played an instrument since #until now anyway #still not a guitar. but maybe someday #or he can find his old one and buy it again.........#lmfao if you made it here congrats. you win nothing bc im broke but i do respect you

#the dragon prince #tdp #aaravos #gif #aquanutart #hi i would like to thank everyone who said on my last pic 'i am reblogging this for the puffballs'#as well as 'your tags have murdered me' etc #truly made the whole experience worthwhile. i still can't tell if anyone got the joke but i no longer care #next in our series of 'it's 2022 why don't you make a brush' i should really make a star brush #instead of sitting there going dot dot dot dot dot dot dot dot dot dot dot ...#even traditional art has a shortcut method for this (it's called putting masking tape on everything and then: splatter)#(advisable to do this first before drawing anything else...)#the good thing is it doesn't actually take a long time to do the dot dot dots it's just kind of repetitive #and you get bored and start writing about it in your tags and then it takes longer because you're not working #i listened to the ff8 soundtrack while making this #i had actually planned to listen to the triple triad music the entire time but #it turned out i couldn't take it for several hours #even though i quickly realized my mistake i ended up having triple triad stuck in my head the whole time anyway. i did this to myself #anyway i was determined to finish this before season 4 dropped #because i also had the idea three years ago and i need to post it before the new season possibly makes it obsolete #threw a wrench into my own schedule by deciding at the last minute that i needed to animate it and i don't know how to animate #then tdp kind of also threw a wrench by releasing the first episode a week early but it's okay i'm still basically in time #i'd personally like it if aaravos were someone who warps and twists the truth and/or has a warped perspective rather than outright lying #i'm convinced there's a meaning to the upside-down star arcana and maybe rotating the key of aaravos can unlock something ??#saying this suddenly gave me flashbacks to the rotation keys in skyward sword rofl what if he's being held in prison #by his own startouch marking being upside-down because it's out of alignment with the universe or something #TWO MORE DAYS let's GO i've been waiting three years to have my theories blown apart

lower decks is the best star trek show. i'm not taking constructive criticism at this time

#HOLY SHIT #no spoilers but. oh my god the latest episode is SO GOOD #i knew we were going to get at least a part of mariner's backstory this season and IT DOES NOT LET DOWN #really season 4 has been banger after banger #A Few Badgeys More was the only episode i was kinda eh on #if you asked me how i would rank lower decks after just watching the first two seasons i would probably say like. high mid #it's funny but not that deep #but in the last season it's quickly rocketed to be one of my favorite shows. certainly my favorite of new trek #idk it's just rare that a show seems to perfectly straddle being largely made of references and specific star trek jokes #while also having incredibly strong characters. not just of the main four but also the bridge crew. t'lyn. even compelling one offs #tbh i think the reason it's so successful is because it actively avoids the BIG GALACTIC DESTRUCTION plots that disco picard and prodigy do #(though prodigy much less so)#it just. let's the characters exist and builds plots around the characters instead of the other way around.#anyways sorry for rambling. the latest episode just. gave me feelings.#lower decks #my posts

#rotmmpr #mighty morphin power rangers #mmpr #power rangers #my art #had one of those moments where i had an idea that i fully don't quite have the skill for and decided to give it a go anyway #was truly just messin around and made something i really like!!#look at the cool thing i made!!#its essentially just a mock promo image/poster for the show #could've probably cropped it to just have the helmets and the logo but i liked having the team walkin away from them as well #also i was listenin to the rise playlist i made while drawin and it's such a vibe #oh!! also this is a good time to quickly explain how the helmets work in rise - since i've only ever drawn them completely morphed #essentially they're just the top part when not worn (for portability - they can also be stored on the back of the suits or on the belt)#and then the white underpart and mouth cover materialize/pop out in a ranger colored shimmer #the mouth piece is essentially skin-tight and allows the rangers to emote and understand each other's speech #while distorting their voices slightly for anyone unmorphed - kind of like in the '17 movie for lack of a better way to describe it

Me: I'm gonna stop procrastinating and create a Les Mis comic! Finally, I'll draw something related to the main story! Me: Okay step one is doing in depth research on the historical boats of the period (similar to the Orion), what these ships and their harbors would've looked like, and creating an extremely high-effort historically accurate 3D model reflecting that research-- Me: oh god. this is why Victor Hugo does all those history tangents...ive been in the fandom long enough to attempt to start making my own Digressions

#really though I think blocking things out in Blender has made illustration 200000000000 times easier for me #so if I adapt the ship Orion sequence #itll take some time to model a ship #it'll take a Lot of time #but once that's over I could crank out a comic adaptation relatively quickly?#because it's just doing yeah some painstaking handmade linework #but the general lighting/color palette/perspective of the background would be there #and the model wouldn't have to be perfect if I'm just using it as a base/painting over it #my other Easier adaptation I might do as a test first #is Jean Valjean's weird trippy dream sequence before Arras #v beautiful evocative imagery that would be fun to draw #and it wouldnt be complicated either #because it's just 'a town where all the houses are the same'#anyway

#merlin.txt #w/ the new computer the rest of act 3 went by super quickly #honestly i dont think my computer and my sanity would have survived all those cutscenes #ANYWAYS initial thoughts:#cried like a baby. ending credits songs really really good. i can't WAIT to start a new playthru. HOWEVER:#oh my god the ending felt so fucking rushed. i was expecting like a typical rpg ending slideshow at LEAST but nothing???#like you only get One cutscene with your romanced partner (a short one too) but i don't get to see what everyone else is doing??? hello??#gale is literally like 'lets celebrate' and we don't get to see the celebration??? or at the very least a chance to talk to everyone again #like in act 1 and 2????#imo i think the most satisfying one was lae'zels. god i love her #also act 3 is hella buggy especially towards the end. a lot of broken dialogue. but ah well #OK NOW SPOILER THOUGHTS SAMMIE DONT LOOK:#the game Really wants you to turn illithid but i ended up just letting karlach do it ... i felt bad .. but like #i found the arc of my tav like. getting So close to going full power hungry and martyr and hero only to finally be humbled like -#'you dont have to always play hero' was really interesting. like doing that and then hearing the post credits 'the power' song. gshldgksmal #guy who is soo miserable abt the fact that all their cool illithid powers are now gone. has to go back to being normal #ALSO. I see a lot of people I knew from school posting pictures on their social medias with all their friends doing various fun things together. Meanwhile, I'm sitting at home wishing I could take a group photo with all my Tumblr mutuals to post so I can brag about having the best friends.

#too much of my social life is based on Tumblr but i really don't get out much since I don't have a job and i made like 1 friend in school #so i don't really know anyone to hangout with other than my siblings and my one friend #and i don't go out much exept for occasionally to the library or the store so i don't get the chance to meet new people #i used to have all 5 of my sisters at home and that was all the company i needed #but now they've all moved out except for my younger sister and im realizing that im very deeply lonely #i need to get a social life! but how!#Also i think this is part of the reason I jumped into things too quickly with my ex gf now my best friend #like I was so excited that i had found someone who was just as interested in being friends with me as i was with her #that i misstook my feelings for her as romantic ones cuz i was so lonely and she was such a good friend #and i was so scared to tell her cuz I didn't want to ruin our relationship. it didn't. we're still besties.#but i think im so lonely idk if I'll be able to know the difference between platonic and romantic feelings #and part of that definitely comes from being ace as well #anyways there's my tangent for the night about why I need a better social life and maybe a bit of therapy too #haha that got super personal oops 😬#might delete these tags later
