I just started reading the svsss volumes (and re-read them again because A LOT IS GOING ON) but like. This shit is so hysterically funny I don't even know where to begin.

It's one thing to see people joke about sqq and lbh being unable to communicate but it's on a league of its own when you have to read HUNDREDS OF PAGES of sqq's inner monologue be like 'that's my darling boy. my baby. my sugar plum pumpy umpkin you're my sweetie pie' but on the outside he says "get lost binghe" and somehow deems that an effective expression of his affection that lbh will surely understand. 'Why is lbh whining and crying and tugging at my sleeve like a plaintive wife, why is he so angry?' Sqq asks, the entire circus, as lbh is about to fling himself off a cliff for attention--

okay so i’ve been gone all day so i’m finally posting my fionna and cake initial thoughts. and since i’ve seen only a few people talking about my second favorite alternate finn, i’d thought i’d share the big thing i was thinking about during episode 5.

how the fuck does farmworld finn have that many kids???????

so i’ve always thought that farmworld and ooo operated on parallel timelines, and the show seemed to follow this too, but literally how does a 29 year old have a dead wife and a preteen kid, especially fw finn, who i seriously doubt was mentally and emotionally ready to start a family so soon after the crown was destroyed. so unless the show changed its mind and farmworld is suddenly farther in the future than ooo, i have no idea how fw finn has such a big family (cause like. the show clearly wants us to think that they’re all biological kids as opposed to adoption).

let me share my initial theory for who jay was. when i first saw him i thought he was going to be little sibling.

i mean. the years match up perfectly here, so i have no idea why they went with the option that completely messes up the timeline.

also to clear up a misconception the flashback at the beginning is almost definitely during the year ice finn spent alone freezing people (between jake the dog and crossover) before prismo's meddling destroyed the crown in the nuke, so that part holds up at least.

i could be missing something that makes all of this make sense. i'll probably rewatch this episode tonight if there's any info i missed i might add it idk

overall i really like that space sweepers has next-to-no romance in it; like, even the grieving father never had a partner, he was a single dad. bubs isn't boy-crazy, just super girly, and we know nothing whatsoever about tiger's romantic history (i think he's gay, specifically in a belligerent 'whaddaya got, a problem? a brutally violent cartel hitter can't be gay? get off my ass' way). and i think this opens a lot of room up for other interesting kinds of relationships. but i also love that the only person with what MIGHT be a sexual history is captain jang, with a stereotype of a Lovelorn French Man who she POSSIBLY had a one-night stand with and he's still thinking about it years later while she behaves as if she's never even heard of him to such a doth-protest-too-much degree she is almost certainly also, sometimes, thinking about it. it's a very minor subplot but at the same time i got the distinct impression that jang doesn't really hate him per se, he's just, like, her embarrassing ex-friends-with-benefits who she wishes wasn't actually a pretty nice guy

My thoughts are that Neelix is a silly goofy little tragic clown of a man and Tuvok thinks he's so much better than him but in actuality whatever they're up to makes them both look stupid <3 /affectionate Neelix having a crush on Tuvok is canon to me - what Tuvok's response to or level of knowledge of that is changes by the day.

idk like ships are fun and all but when I talk bisexual Steve I am not talking about wanting Steve to date this guy or that guy I am talking about the fact that making Steve bisexual would have been the most incredible way to complete his character arc that's been building since season 1 and I've wanted it since the beginning, idgaf about Jonathan or Billy or Eddie, bisexual Steve should be canon even if he's single all the way through. It makes sense. It's stupid not to do it. He would be the best fucking character to bisexualise. The entirety of season 4 and his issues with dating felt like it was building up to it. I literally can't believe they're not doing it, my brain does not compute, I can't see any other way for his evolution as a character to not lead to a bisexual awakening.

I think despite his overconfident nature Max is very aware of the things he lacks, he often makes up for it with his other qualities but it's definitely something that nags at him at times. I think it got especially bad during the aliea arc bc while he seemed to be (according to the games at least) one of the last raimon players to turn to the rock he did eventually do so. I see him as having a bit of a gifted kid syndrome and that's definitely not me projecting or anything haha what?? A bit of an angst hc there but there you go

Fudou

This guy... this fucking guy. Okay so here's something I think is really interesting about Fudou- He never apologizes about the shin teikoku thing. Like he's on a team with Kidou AND Sakuma, they bring it up multiple times and he himself never did until Kageyama showed up. He's a jerk, plain and simple. One who refuses to hold himself accountable for his actions and easily deflects the blame to others. And this never changes. Like it's such an interesting contrast to almost every other character in the show. I wish they did more with him tbh bc Fudou really stands out as a character imo

no no i'm not at all emotional knowing diluc treasures and keeps all of kaeya's letters to him in his house. or that kaeya kept in contact even after everything went down just to take care of diluc, in his own way. or that they knew each other so well kaeya instantly knew diluc was the one behind the dark night hero appearance. or that diluc probably holds dear in his heart that kaeya grieved their father's death as well in his absense. i'm totally okay. this event didn't make me emotional at all... i don't even care that much about kaeya and diluc
