#taylor kare#jatp#julie and the phantoms#bobby shaw#art#mine#i draw things#I’m so proud of this#I’m so happy he saw it and shared it too#the reference photo was in black and white so like#the colours I’m especially proud of#i love the orangey red glow when sunlight hits the skin#and the tiny sliver of highlights around the edges of his lips#and on his Cupid’s bow AH I’m obsessed with the lighting there#also idk if tumblr will have preserved enough detail for you to see the KNITTED ROWS ON HIS TURTLENECK#and the shading there is so fucking good#for how dark the colour is#I’m so impressed i managed to make it look soft and round#yeah :’) this was a good piece#i love looking back at old drawings like this#i hope i can make more this year#but also I’m experimenting with simpler things that don’t require so much attention to detail#it’s very easy to get caught up in details#while impressive. it’s also unsustainable physically#ANYWAYS#this is fucking awesome and i love drawing
