As the chief gardener he was the one responsible for all of the plants, herbology, vegetable gardens and aesthetic purposes.

The family he was serving was one of the most powerful of the country. Y/F/N.

The family had gotten extremely rich due to trade of alcohol, tobacco, riches. And finally had married their eldest daughter to one of the duc of the kingdom.

Their family had gotten even more influent and powerful.

The criteria Gydneria was over 100 acres. More than 45 bedrooms and 15 bathrooms. They were powerful. They were rich and they wanted even more to assert their powers.

Yn was the the second daughter of the family and the expected next to have a grand wedding. As, or even grander than her sister.

However what they did not know was that their daughter was often slipping away and enjoying the calm of the gardens since years.

He had taught her everything and after years the mentor relationship had developed onto something more fragile and important.

Love.

Each day they were meeting in the secret of the gardens. Hidden behind the trees and plants.

They talked about everything and nothing. Simply holding hands, playing with each other fingers. They thought they had forever before them.

"What will you do"

"What do you mean ?"

"After this? I mean do you want to stay the head gardener of my family forever .. ? Do you have any plans?"

Jiwoong was left pensive for a few moments, still playing with your fingers, tracing over them with his calloused hands.

"I do. Soon I will have enough money to buy myself a little domain. I will grow plants there and sell them. I will be my own man."

"So you do not wanna stay?"

Jiwoong turned over to look at yn and slowly tracing over their freckles on their nose.

"Well I thought during a long time that I would stay here forever. But I there was this desire to be my own boss and now... well things are different."

Jiwoong kept tracing over your freckles but now he was going on the cheeks, on your collarbones that was getting out of your corseted dress.

"Now things are different ?"

The black haired man waited a few minutes before keeping himself quiet and telling her to just forget about it, suddenly feeling shy.

"Tell me Woong. Please ?"

You knew that Jiwoong always had been the softer one in your relationship. A pretty please and sparkly eyes and he would give up to you

"I mean.. now I have someone I will have to care for and put food on the table for. So I have to be my own man and keep my own money, at my own place"

What Jiwoong told you left you speechless, the man was looking up at the sky, lost in his own thoughts, looking at the clouds.

"You mean ..? "

As Jiwoong slowly got up, you followed him in his movements.

"Once I'm established enough and I bought the domain and started everything.. I will ask for your hand. I will ask you and if you want me I will declare myself to your father and I will marry you"

A smile formed on your lips. You could have wished for nothing more than to marry Jiwoong.

Eyes sparkling and without leaving one more second you took Jiwoong uniforms collar and placed your lips on his. There was an eagerness that had only ever been met between the two of you a few times.

The kiss kept getting deeper and more intense. His hands was running on your hops on your corset, and yours on his torso.

Without completely wanting to, Jiwoong pulled away.

"We shouldn't do that"

"You said you will marry me, we could."

"My love I wanna give you everything. When we will do that, we will do it as husband and wife."

"You don't want me.."

Slowly pulling from him you started to feel insecure, yes he wanted to marry you, but did he want you ?

"No no. I want you. I want you desperately. I respect you too much to do that here on the grass, maybe later we could.. but for the first time I will give you everything you deserves."

Before even letting you the time to speak, Jiwoong stood up and took up by his side placing your hand on his heart

"See this beats for you. I beat for you and I will give you everything you deserve my love"

"You are getting married."

Slowly blinking at your father you looked at him without understanding. It had only been a month since you and Jiwoong had talked about your plans. Had he already been making the needed arrangments? What about asking you first ?

"Sorry?"

"To prince Sung Han Bin. In three months time"

Your father had left you speechless. How could he .. not only you were speechless but your older brother Zhang Hao, and your little brother Ricky were as well.

Before you even had the time to understand the situation your father told you that the arrangements had been made and that you would leave in two days time for their countryside residence to meet with the Prince and learn about your duties as the future princess.

The marriage of your sister had been the stepping stone they needed to get what they truly wanted since the beginning : marrying into the royal family.

"Listen YN you have a responsibility. Ricky is not married yet and with his looks, our money and your new status he will be able to marry well. You need once you are married to give the throne an heir quickly. Do you understand ?"

Not one word could begin to leave your mouth. Why would this responsibility fall onto your shoulders ?

You knew that your father did not know for you and Jiwoong and you could only be left to think about what would happen if he learned? Would he keep on the marriage or would he want your hapiness ?

A part of you knew the answer and you didn't like it.

As soon as your parents freed you and your brothers you left without a second thought for the garden where you knew you would find Jiwoong. He had told you what he had to do for the day and you went straightly to see him.

As soon as you saw his tall figure, working the truth imposed itself to you : your father would never allow you to marry him and would force you toward the Prince.

Feeling someone eyes on him Jiwoong turned away and met your eyes.

Seeing you, a smile escaped his lips and he went straightly to you. Placing his hands on your lips he placed a quick kiss on them. Stepping away and looking at your face he understood something was wrong.

You told him everything. Your marriage. The greed of your father. The responsibility you had for your brother.

Jiwoong was left speechless a few seconds before he quickly found a solution. Completely engulfind your face on the palm of his hands, Jiwoong rested his forehead on yours.

"I will make the arrangments, I know someone.. Just pack your things, everything you need and we will leave. Tonight."

"But Ricky? "

The man slowly breathed and responsded "Ricky will be fine by himself. As your father said he is handsome enough to have everything he desires. And once he will know, he will understand, he loves you to much to leave you in a life of suffering for him"

Slowly you agreed. You knew he would be fine.

"Tonight, you will meet me in the gardens, at midnight, at the foutain with the roses. We will leave."

You accepted, and you knew you had to prepare everything.

Leaving Jiwoong side he left one last kiss on your hand. Telling you everything would be alright.

Midnight.

It had been 15 minutes that Jiwoong waited for you, sat on the chair, a bouquet of roses in his hands. You had a tight schedule. You both needed to leave for the countryside, hidden somewhere your father would not find you.

What Jiwoong had not planned was that you would not come, minutes were passing by.

When suddenly a sound came out from the bushes. A tall figure came out of the bushes.

"She won't come"

Looking up at your little brother, Jiwoong questionned him.

"They know. Her maid told them. They took her away Jiwoong. You will not see her again."

Feeling his knees giving out the tall man fell on the floor. The roses falling with him, leaving petals on the ground. How could he have not thought about it ? Her maid... Everything was ruined because of the maid..

Now what could he do ? How could he go back to you before your marriage with Prince Sung Han Bin ...
