What if Tiffany from @thesoftboileddetectivepodcast was in BG3? I plan to have her as a Tav soon, but I did this in the meantime! (I have to wait until my access to the game changes.)

Tiffany will be a High-Elf Wizard who focuses on necromancy. Instead of her cybernetic arm, she would have a prosthetic that is brought to life via magic.

What if your Tav was a recruitable companion, instead of the main character? (contains major spoilers for the game, and for some dark urge runs as well)

General

Where can your Tav be recruited? Are they first encountered on the Nautiloid, or in the Nautiloid crash region? Or are they not recruitable until a later act? She'd be in the Nautiloid crash region.

Do the other companions have special comments or reactions upon recruiting your Tav? Gale would make some comment about having two wizards around. And if YOUR Tav is also a wizard: It's getting a bit crowded, isn't it? Astarion would probably have something to say about her being a necromancer. Shadowheart would be unimpressed, but fine with her joining.

Does your Tav have any comments or advice when you recruit other companions? Astarion: "Are we sure we want to recruit a man who held a knife to your throat? Seems like kind of a stupid move." Gale: "I guess another wizard couldn't hurt. I don't think it'll help either, though." Karlach: "I like her. And it's good to have the person who could snap you in two on your side." Lae'zel: "I've never seen a githyanki in person before. I've only read about them. Can't wait to see her fight. As long as it's with us and not against us." Shadowheart: "Kinda moody, but I'm not turning my nose up at a cleric. We're probably gonna need one... or five." Wyll: "He's cute. He's probably going to get himself killed, but he'll be adorable while he does it." Minthara: "She's kind of a bitch. I'm here for it. Let's see what she can do." Halsin: "Did you see those arms? Gods. I'd be okay with him just wrapping them around me and... Sorry, what did you need?" Minsc: "Can we put him back where we found him? Please? We can keep the hamster." Jaheira: "You know, I like her. She might not like me, but that's her problem, not mine."

What sort of general actions raise or lower their approval? She's a good deed girlie, but she would love the smarmy and sassy replies too. She doesn't want you getting too soft.

Are there any instances where your Tav can permanently leave the party, depending on player character actions? If you turn on the Grove, she'll leave.

Do they have any secrets that can be revealed? What are the prerequisites for this secret coming to light? Her father is a corrupt member of the Flaming Fist. He's been terrorizing the citizens of Baldur's Gate for years. She never knew how to stop him because he surrounds himself with powerful allies and he's her dad. It's tough. It's revealed when people recognize her in Baldur's Gate for better or for worse. Some are friends of her father's and others are victims. You can run into a friend or victim or both in Baldur's Gate. They'll reveal the truth that makes Tiffany come clean. If your approval is high enough, she'll also reveal he's the reason she's missing her arm. He beat her so badly as a child it had to be amputated.

Do they have their own personal quest that spans the course of the game? Can it take different branching paths depending on the choices the Player Character makes? She wants to take down her father now that she feels like she has allies who can do it. If you kill him, she's relieved but sad. It's bittersweet. If you help her father instead, he can grow his power and Tiffany will leave the party. She'd rather be a mindflayer. Or you can help her father kill her. If you don't do anything about it and go about your business, the Jaheira's daughter, Rion, will deal with Tiffany's father. It'll be a good ending, but not as satisfying. It'll only be said in dialogue. If you never get Tiffany to talk about it, you'll only see a headline about a corrupt Flaming Fist being killed (by Rion).

What do they say when the Player Character asks them to stay in camp? How about when the Player Character asks them to come adventuring again? Staying in camp: Alright. Guess I could use a break anyway. But don't expect me to stay here forever, got it? Come Adventuring: Gods, it's about time. I was starting to get too comfortable here.

Does your Tav have any escalating conflicts with one of the other companions, like Lae’zel and Shadowheart’s knife-fight? She picks on Gale a lot. She actually likes him. She just feels compelled to keep fucking with him, especially as a wizard. Nothing serious though.

Are there any unique NPCs associated with your Tav that can show up during the course of the game? HBD and Hans (also from Soft-Boiled) could totally make an appearance. I have no idea how though. Her father would be an NPC. She also has a half-sister, Megan, who could join the NPC ranks. Megan sided with their father and she was the golden child. There are also friends of her father or his victims in Baldur's Gate. If you kill Megan and loot her, she'd probably have a lot of cool shit.

Are there any moments in the game that trigger unique dialogue for your character? (Like Gale’s anecdote about the barfight after you save the goblin prisoner) I can't think of anything, but I might come back to this later.

Story Specific

How does your Tav advise the player character when it comes to the Dream Visitor? "Let's not totally blow them off, but we should be careful. We don't actually know whose side they're on yet." She would want to tread carefully.

How do they advise the player character on Raphael? "You know we can't trust him, right? Only an idiot would believe anything he says."

How do they react to Astarion biting the Player Character? "I'm embarrassed I didn't peg him as a vampire before. It feels really obvious in hindsight. You know, if he wanted to bite me, I wouldn't stop him...."

How do they react to the Player Character letting Abdirak whip them? "Hot."

How do they react to the Player Character taking their first tadpole power? "You sure that's a good idea? What if it turns you into, like, a giant squid face? Or causes some kind of brain damage? Just think about it first, okay? We can't afford to lose you."

Will they stay with the Player Character regardless of siding with the goblins or the tieflings, or is it possible for them to leave the party permanently? She would leave if you side with the goblins.

What can they be found doing at the tiefling/goblin party? Goblin Party: She'd be gone before it started. Tiefling Party: Happily drinking and trying to sleep with someone! Who she spends the night with changes based on the PC's choices.

Do they have comments on who the Player Character chooses to spend the night with? Wyll: "I get it. Wyll's a real prince charming, isn't he? I wouldn't mind being swept off my feet like that." Astarion: "Astarion? Aren't you lucky? I'd be lying if I said I wasn't envious. Just make sure he doesn't suck you dry." Lae'zel: "Really? I figured she'd bite your head off mid-coitus." Shadowheart: "Huh, you know, now that I think about it... she has her own charm. The 'I didn't grow out of my broody teen phase' charm, but it counts." Gale: "Oh Gods, him? Really? ... How was it?" Halsin: "Listen, if you didn't go after him, I would. Congrats."

Do they have unique dialogue if the Player Character lets them die when they steal the Blood of Lathander? "What the fuck was that?! What did you think was going to happen? When do they not have some kind of trap for this stuff?!"

How do they react if the PC licks the dead spider in the Gauntlet of Shar? "I'm trying to be supportive, but you keep making it really hard to do." Second time PC licks it: "Oh my Gods, put the spider down, you freak!"

What do they say if the PC tries to force them to go up on stage with Dribbles the Clown? "I think I read a story about a clown that looked like that. He killed an entire family in their sleep." If the PC volunteers her: "No. I don't have a humiliation kink. Sorry." PC tells her to go up: "So, this is how our friendship ends."

Is it possible for your Tav to be kidnapped and replaced by Orin? How is Orin's deception revealed? How do they react to the PC rescuing them in the Temple of Bhaal? Yes, she can be! She'd have Tiffany's obsession with death go beyond the normal into treating her like she's in a death cult. (She just likes studying death and death rituals.) She'd go the attempted murder route with it and reveal her hand. Tiffany would be relieved. She enjoys death, but murder isn't her forte. She'd be grateful and ready to get out NOW. I haven't gotten to this yet so this could change the more I learn.

How do they react to the PC either allowing Astarion to ascend or convincing him to spare the 7000 spawn? She believes letting him ascend is a terrible, terrible idea, but it's not her choice to make. She just feels really sad about it and misses old Astarion. She's hesitant to free the 7000 spawn, but believes they deserve a fighting chance.

How does Tav react to the PC becoming a mind flayer? Can they offer to become one themselves? Does their reaction change if they’re romanced? She would offer herself as sacrifice. If the PC did it, she would support them. She'd have to get used to their new look though. If romanced, she'd stay by their side no matter what they looked like.

How do they react when the Dark Urge first reveals their amnesia and murderous thoughts to them? She'd be confused, but once she got her bearings, she jump into action. She'd do what she could to restrain the PC for safety and then reassure them that she'll help. I'm still working on Dark Urge stuff.

How do they react to the Dark Urge killing Alfira? It's not great. She would freak right the fuck out at first. Once she realized what is going on with you, she'd go into problem solving mode. Protecting everyone would become her first concern on top of helping you.

If romanced, how do they react to the Dark Urge trying to kill them in Act 2? She will do everything in her power to save you. She'll be openly terrified, but she's confident you can do this together.

Romance

Is your Tav a romanceable character? Are there any specific requirements to romancing them? She is 100% romanceable.

Does your Tav need to be flirted with to start the romance, or will they approach the PC themselves if approval is high enough? Flirt with her first. Once she knows you're interested, she'll start making moves. She reacts best to bluntness.

Are they a polyamorous or a monogamous option? She's a polyamorous option, but she will require reassurance at first. She's been burned by love before. Once you reassure her, she's down to clown.

Do they have a special romance scene at the tiefling/goblin party? She'd have a tiefling party sex scene, no doubt. She'd come in hot and slowly learn how to be more romantic.

Does the romance have different branching paths, or just one route to take? She'd be pretty straightforward in the romance. It'd deviate only if you side with her father and she'll break up with you.

How do they react to the player character breaking up with them, or choosing another character over them? She tries to keep a tough face on and pretend it doesn't hurt her. But you'll see, just in the way she looks at you, that she is devastated. She wishes you all the best, even though she wishes you'd found happiness with her.

What questions can Zethino ask the PC about Tav in the Love Test? "Listen. Think. The heart is fraught, so let us begin with the joyous. When is she happiest?" 1. When she's at a big, lively party. 2. When she's surrounded by death. ★ 3. She never is. She's always moody. 4. When she's with me. ★ "We often gaze through a veil of roses, but love accepts both the petal and the thorn. Tiffany - what is her greatest flaw?" 1. She shuts people out to protect herself. ★ 2. She's a wizard, need I say more? 3. She fears she's not enough for anyone. ★ 4. She's too obsessed with death. "Life is full of victory and loss. You cannot have one without the other. Tiffany - what is her greatest failure? 1. Not stopping her father when she had the chance. ★ 2. Never finding a way to bring her mother back from the dead. ★ 3. That outfit, yikes.

If they’re poly, do they have a reaction to the PC engaging in a relationship with Halsin? She'd be equally hot and bothered by Halsin. There'd 100% be an option for a threesome.

How do they react if the PC has sex with Mizora? The Emperor? Haarlep? She doesn't trust them. She'd be miffed about it, but it wouldn't ruin the relationship. She won't tell the PC who they can and cannot sleep with. She makes her opinion known and leaves it at that.

Will they join in with the PC and the Drow Twins, or no? She definitely would. You could even throw in Halsin and make her happier.

What are Tav’s plans for the future? Do they propose to the PC, or is marriage not something they’re interested in? She wants to get married. She'd be scared to propose and, if the PC says yes, she'd be so relieved and elated. She'd try to play it cool, but everyone can see through her.
