yep, they’re back at it again! let’s have a look at the latest bullshit takes, fresh from the comment section on the most recent shipping poll in r/strangerthings

i don’t know about you guys, but i never never expected this sub to go so low. thankfully, the majority of people (who saw these comments) seem to be sane, as shown by the upvotes on my comment and the downvotes on the offending comment.

but wait, it gets worse!

i literally cannot with these people. somehow, a toxic mlvn (at least i’m assuming they’re a mlvn) managed to make a discussion about shipping steve and robin into a byler convo. i literally do not understand this. steve doesn’t have a canon sexuality but is heavily implied to be straight (or at the very least having an extreme preference to girls), and robin is a canon lesbian. there is no way this ship would work unless you want to erase a huge part of robin’s canon identity and make her attracted to men in some fashion. it is completely different with will and mike. will is canonically gay, and mike has no canon sexuality, so this could work. some say mike is implied to be straight but he could even be bi or some other flavor of queer and it would still work! it is not the same, as nobody’s erasing a huge part of his canon identity just to make a ship work. these two ships are in no way comparable! they. are. NOT. THE. SAME.
