and damn rewind is hardcore. i mean i know you find out later why he wanted that footage but still

seriously whirls backstory is so nuanced and interesting, and like, layered with politics and implications and GAH i love it

also, i see that reference to A Certain Prisoner....

phewwww, this one was heavy! we got lots of lore and character stuff, and we got a tease for one of the series big plot points - overlord. plus, rung just died. or did he....? guess we’ll find out next time!

hghghgh forgot I had these sketches

wanted to make a piece to go along with the Giggle x Mouse but with Mr.Trickster x Mouse but I’m slow as heck and easily distracted so I never finished it hHHHHH

for some clarification Tricky comes back to life after killing himself to help out Mouse I mean he’s a demon he can p much do whatever the hell the wants

Mouse ends up hardcore falling in love with him (although it’s probs just more she feels she owes him considering well..he LITERALLY died for her so yea... :v)

At first Tricks was happy to fool around not really seeing any harm in it, he already fell in love with Giggle it’s not like you can fall in love twice right?? lol

what a fool

He doesn’t really know how to properly deal with how he feels toward Mouse. She was just supposed to be Giggle’s play thing, she was meant to be temporary but now he’s really torn. He knows he shouldn’t be falling for humans and he’s already made the mistake once.

He’s kind of uncertain what he wants to do with Mouse either keep her human and immortal like Giggle, which would cost him a looooot or turn her into a demon like him and the rest of his clown crew which would be easier and less of a hassle. Problem he just took her out of a similar situation. Dragging her back into a world where she’s trapped and caged doesn’t fully appeal to him. But he’s gotta make a choice at some point.

tbh I’m not sure what I want to pick for Mouse’s fate either.

I want her to be happy but also going the clown route I could technically make it all work out and have Mouse become Veneno. It makes sense enough but ahhhhhh

idk :’’v lolol

I’m sure I’ll figure it out at some point but for now Mouse and Venny will be two separate characters.

we hop away from the lost light for a bit to meet the scavengers, which is something i totally forgot happened around now

[sees cover] OH SHIT I ALMOST FORGOT ABT THE SCAVENGERS!!!!!

i love them I'm so excited

ah yes and of course tarn and the djd as well

god i consistently forget but tarn is like. SO much. like the whole decepticon mask...the two fusion canons...the tank treads...his entire personality...like, dude.

the rest of the djds alt modes are super creative imo. like, a dude who turns into an electric chair?? a sniper rifle?? that fucks

now that i think about it this story has a surprising amount of characters who fall into the category of ‘was injured and slept thru most of/all of The Big War.’ i mean that's 2 characters (maybe 3? idk what cyclonus’s deal is tbh) but still, weird that it happened twice and all that

is spinister holding his helicopter propeller thing like a big staff? love it

them having a still-alive autobot as their fire fuel is. a lot lmao. i feel like the scavengers were a lot more cold-blooded/hardcore in this first little arc of theirs than in the rest of the story

i fucking love the little text reveal that the scavengers are on clemency, which is where we know the djd is heading next. hoooo boy who’re they after?

HHHHHH POOR RUNG POOR RED ALERT....who even is that, i actually don't remember who stole that little flash drive from rung’s thumb socket

godddd i fucking love hearing the like, decepticon rank&file soldier talk, its so cool and interesting w/re: to worldbuilding to get to see The Other Side, and how they talk about the decepticons, and how its very similar to the autobot soldiers in a lot of ways

genuinely took me a minute to think it thru when fulcrum said ‘torch,’ forgot that was the british word for flashlight and i was like why do they have a fire torch

i love that they keep dropping ‘k-class’ but not telling us what that means...yet another of many examples where i was like ‘is this a thing i should already know, or new information we’ll get later?’

love fulcrum feelin that post-war euphoria bc to him, the war Just ended like, yesterday

a lot happened this issue! we got to meet the scavengers, our favorite plucky band of decepticon randos, and see some sinister shit start to happen on the lost light. we also get introduced to the djd, who are A Lot and will continue to be A Lot throughout most of this story. great stuff!
