onjo's dead first wife had actually guessed his favorite bird which is why he married her. doryeong's marriage prospects have historically been turbulent, mostly because he's kind of a shithead; it goes like: ennobled family(++) firstborn(++) external adoptee(-) dubious astrological stats(-) high scores on civ exams(+++) spousal rumors (---) filial irreverence(--) filial piety(+++++++[would literally scheme/murder/die for his dad]) a bit too disrespectful (---[esp. after the bellia trip])
khanh/xuan is still dealing with her own issues but the visiting scholar that taught her the neo-daixanhese script really made her feel nice. she also is wary of arranged marriages because hers in her youth went incredibly wrong and contributed towards her family's expulsion from Yulguk. Which is not!!! Nice!!!! Her mother is attentive to this fact and as a result has not pushed marriage on her since despite her nickname now being Madamoiselle Épineuse/Miss Thornback (even though she's not even a standoffish person, usually).
