long rant incoming lol sorry u can scroll past if u dont care but I am so fucking irritated rn lmao ive complained/joked before about how bad the english captioning is on hbo's streaming service but like, fine, whatever I only use captions cus my auditory processing disorder so it hasn't been a huge issue for me personally that the captions sometimes are outright wrong because I can still hear whats being said (though I find it horrible that any person who is deaf or hoh wouldn't know whats actually being said, but thats a different story). however I just ran into a huge problem watching a show thats normally almost all in English but that now has a lot of french mixed in where theres no captions AT ALL for the french parts. n i was like....wait what, the shows gonna be in french a lot from now on why the hell isnt it translated, like im sorry but my understanding of french is very limited so i can at best only understand some words here n there which makes for a very confusing watching experience. then i realized that there's a translation if I switch to Swedish captions but not if im using English captions????? but like, I don't want to use Swedish captions... even though im Swedish and watching it in sweden. because its just super distracting for me to watch something thats primarily in English with Swedish subs, the reason im using English captions is because it makes it easier for my brain to follow along but if I need to switch between listening in English n reading in Swedish it just makes it more difficult to follow along?? and removing captions all together doesn't work either cus there's still no translation for the french parts im gjcbslxnzlfjxksödl im so annoyed wtf why haven't they added an English translation for the french parts i wanna kill someone. i googled it and apparently a lot of people (primarily form English speaking countries it seems? so I think its a general problem not specifically hbo in sweden) have run into the same issue withother movies/shows on hbo that has other languages mixed in with english which 🙃 wtf
