7. three words from your native language that you like the most?

Okay let me add that I’m weird and I always laugh at random words but when I have to conjure them, not a single one comes to mind. So this is just three random: mese (fairy tale), aranyeső (a type of plant), korona (crown).

10. most enjoyable swear word in your native language?

I’ve already shared some but here are two from an old Hungarian movie/novel that I absolutely adore.

Az isten rogyassza meg (god may make them... fall? I don’t think there’s an exact word to cover that)

A kaporszakállú, öreg isten sistergő mennyköve csapjon belé (may they be striked by the sizzling lightening of the dill bearded old god)

21. if you could send two things from your country into space, what would they be?

There’s more than two politicians that I would love to send to space. Two is a very low limit

11. favourite native writer/poet?

Dragomán György - a writer whose books I absolutely adore

József Attila - because yes I’m edgy and basic, whatever

Pilinszky János - the man knew what’s up

30. do you have people of different nationalities in your family?

My mom said that there’s little to no Hungarian family who has only Hungarians in it and I agree because /mini history lesson, because I can’t help myself/.

Hungary is shit at wars, so we had to repopulate the country from other nations so many times I’m not sure it’s even possible to have purely Hungarian families. We also don’t know who the Hungarians were and where they are from, so there goes that. It’s really more of an identity thing anyway.

But people who identify as different nationalities in my family?🤔 I mean in my extended family I definitely have Swabians (I hope I found the right translation here). But otherwise I don’t think so.

10. most enjoyable swear word in your native language?

Daaaang this is a hard one. Also because Hungarian swearing is complex™️ and you can make such long swears, it’s glorious. But also I’m weird and I like to use completely normal words as swear words. Nevertheless I’ll mention some below. But only the ones I enjoy, so there won’t be a lot of ‘a büdös kurva anyád húzzon a retkes gecibe’ and the likes

a kuuuurva (with a high note on the u)

A fejed a [instert something here]. (this is basically the Hungarian version of the your face is stupid comeback)

Te retek (this just means you radish)
