I've had this idea for a month just sitting in my head when I listened to the song on repeat. It can represent whatever you want it to represent, but the piece is called Whisper of Solace and it's supposed to evoke comfort and love, laced with some sadness and desperation. The way I sort of interpreted the song is that they just didn't have enough time to get to know each other. Perhaps the person passed away or is alive, but a distant memory, but there's still love there. As with most Hozier's songs, they can offer a sort of open interpretation, but I know this isn't the real meaning of the song - it's just how I saw it. Anyway, Unreal Unearth is Hozier's magnum opus - utterly beautiful.

I’ve been listening to Unreal, Unearth by Hozier on repeat. Originally this piece came from De Selby Pt2 - really loved that hook in the chorus - but became a lot more as I was creating it. I wanted it to embody both songs, like a tapestry. Art is slow because this music makes me want to take my time and imbue it with meaning.
