daenystheedreamer my friend . i have unending curiosity about your occasionally mentioned asoiaf ocs . Please …….. illuminate me i beg of thee
MWAH okay so the thing with my ocs is they mostly live in a big extended universe called omaegorverse and its less of an original character as it is an ensemble cast of original characters i like to play with. ill put those under the cut but i have a couple who arent:
jeyne whent, lady companion to danelle lothston :) helps orchestrate the capture and execution of danelle by snitching to her family. marries her something-or-other cousin who spearheaded the operation and got the lordship. matriarch of house whent of harrenhal /|\ ^._.^ /|\ she and danelle have an inadvisable relationship w each other ^_^ her kids are born with red hair and high cheekbones and look rather like dead lady danelle.......
aelyx son of jon. failed at being a maester fired as the town crier now spends his days drinking at the IATC ranting about how the targaryens are sexually deviant lizard people and the maesters are lying to us. keeps getting arrested but his dad pays them off with his dentistry apothecary money. his sworn sword is outlaw knight ser rogar stone. has a bulletin on the local notice board called wisdomwars. maesters are rats to him and he only listens to local crackpot eddard grouper-tongue. other associates include robb of dewton, lyanne of dewton, teddard son of anders, daven knight (who isnt a knight) and local crazy nobles lord ronnel and ser randyll of house paul. gets into melees with jordayne and danwell across the river. this is a paragraph to be understood by MAYBE two of my followers. Hi guys ^_^
okay omaegorverse characters. God. here are some of my faves theyre all the gorls + viserys:
VISERYS TARGARYEN: canonical character, brother of rhaena, jaehaerys, alysanne. visenya tyanna and maegor use valyrian blood magic to turn him mpreggable and maegor takes him to wife. yeah i know. also in this universe the targs start being born with various physical abnormalities called the dragon trait ^_^ probably thanks to the valyrian blood magic
VISERRA TARGARYEN: daughter of maegor and viserys. really really REALLY wanted to marry her older brother so she could be queen but got thwarted (brother was engaged to aerea daughter of rhaena, and a hightower). she was born with a forked tongue that the maesters sewed up but later in life she cuts it back open. has seven husbands like that booktok character<3 flies into the sun and dies. rider of vhagar
DAENYS TARGARYEN: daughter of maegor and viserys. born with stubby tail and wings which were removed and she was left with scars. phantom pain :) she is haunted and a lesbian. marries a stark after a stark rebellion and he sucks. ends up killing maegor with viserys<3
MARIS HIGHTOWER: wife of the son of maegor+viserys, jaehaerys. betrothed to appease ceryse and the hightowers over the mpreg thing. she is also a lesbian sorryyyyy i cant help it. has six children all of whom she outlives. somewhat neglectful to her younger three children due to the elder three being kind of crazy.
HELAENA TARGARYEN: eldest daughter of maris and jaehaerys, called the beauty literally all her life since birth. her elder brothers, twins aegon and aerion vie for her affection. aerion murders the high septon at like 14 after he finds out the guy was abusing helaena, and refuses to confess in order to protect helaena's dignity and he gets exiled to essos for it. later on after aegon is crowned, aerion does a paris and helen and kidnaps helaena. blah blah blah both die in battle against each other and helaena retires and later marries a nice hightower man. has one son with aegon and two with aerion. her daughter aerea later weds aegon's son jaehaerys. rider of dreamfyre
DAENERYS TARGARYEN: second daughter of maris and jaehaerys. one of the younger three who are a little neglected. after aerion was exiled, maris left with aegon helaena and her younger daughter maegelle to the hightower, leaving daenerys and her younger brother viserys alone at the red keep. daenerys later marries lord velaryon. after both her brothers die on the throne, she swoops in as queen regent for her great-nephew and rules for a decade. reconciles with her mother :)
DAENAERA VELARYON: wife of maris and jae's son aegon, maegor made polygamy legal for targs with the exception that they can marry one valyrian bride in the valyrian tradition and one westerosi bride in the Faithful tradition. she's the valyrian bride. has three sons, monterys lucerys and jacaerys. after her husband is killed she steals them away to dragonstone and besieges the island, refusing to leave or let her sons leave (her son monterys is the heir). various tragedies happen to her sons :)
JOCASTA LANNISTER: wife of maris and jae's son aegon in the faithful tradition. she is the daughter of viserra targaryen by her second lannister husband. super mad about being a sister-wife and especially mad cos since she's half targ she's more related to/more valyrian than daenaera, who is half baratheon and half lesser velaryon. has five children with aegon: rhaena laena jaehaerys helaena and viserion. after aegon dies, she remarries to a baratheon cos she wants to garner support for her son over daenaera's. she does win! her son does end up on the throne but only after aegon's brother viserys, daenerys, and daenaera's grandson daeron. boymom to the nth degree
ALYSANNE 'ANYA' TULLY: wife of jocasta's son jaehaerys, betrothed to garner the support of the riverlands. jae's wife-in-the-faith, opposite the wife-in-the-blood aerea daughter of helaena. she's very headstrong and has crazy-eyes. great-granddaughter of aenys targaryen through his daughter vaella targaryen (who survives in this au). bullies her second sister alyssa targ and her husband's later mistresses: jeyne storm of tarth, jeyne pryor, and alysanne hawthorne. she probably had the two jeynes killed.
ALYSANNE 'ALYSSA' TARGARYEN: second valyrian wife of jaehaerys. she's a targ through her grandfather viserys-son-of-maris even though viserys was gay (his wife alyssa arryn was mega nutso, did some turkey baster pregnancies and got in with r'hllor dont worry about it). last of her family branch so she's a little haunted. gets bullied by anya tully a lot but they sorta team up against the mistresses. alyssa has a lot of latent anger which she will never release of course and will only die with regret.
ALYSANNE 'RED ALY HAWBERRY' HAWTHORNE: young minor noblewoman who is kidnapped by the ironborn during a huge rebellion-raid thing thats quickly crushed. all the girls who got kidnapped were taken to the red keep to be treated (propaganda). the king takes a liking to her (shes 16, hes 34 🤢). she's naive and kind and sweet and loving and despised by her lover's wives. she's called the hawberry as a cute nickname but its morphs into everyone clearly saying it as whoreberry..... ends up unknowingly surviving several assassination attempts by the alysannes marrying the king! when he dies the illusions are fully shattered and she runs away with her two bastard daughters. she has strawberry blonde hair and wears pink flower crowns and loves everybody in the world (she's getting fidel castro'd so hard right now)
anyway thats wayyyyyyy too many jesus christ my bad my bad. thank you so so so much for your love and interest in my silly thoughts mwah mwah. i hope this is a fun read! im gonna finally release my long awaited much derided omaegorverse family tree soon :) KISSES

ilībītsos (little sl*t) │Deal PREVIEW 2
terms of endearment ‘verse: see my Masterlist for the correct series order!
Hey all, please have this second preview in lieu of an update - it is 4am here and I just canNOT keep my eyes open long enough to finish this off the way it should be done, and I refuse to deliver anything but my very best. I'm sorry, but it'll be another day still - but hey, 10 000 words for the win!
Tumblr media
“… Put quite simply, Your Highness, the Seven Kingdoms has presented nothing of value. Why should Dorne entertain the demands of a King who insults us by offering an expansion to trade, when we have received the very same promise from the East? They offer none of the threat that House Targaryen has waged upon the Dornish people and our ancestors.”
The Sun Room plays host to the talks between Dorne and the Iron Throne; a cheerful, airy chamber facing outward toward the city, the view beyond the open gallery is a sprawl of sandstone, painted in shades of beige and ochre so vivid beneath the sky that it hurts to cast your eyes upon the landscape. Within, the very same colours are more muted in tone, carrying through the warmth of the Dornish standard with every deliberate choice in hue.
You have grown fond of the room – the golden light that softens the stateliness of the painted draperies on the walls, the plush cerise settee opposite the door, the centrepiece ironwood table with matching chairs – in the way you imagine that reluctant settlers accustom themselves to the reality of their new lives. You have spent so long arguing the same points with Prince Qoren and his representatives that you sometimes feel that you might as well spend the night abed on the divan.
“Is it not considered worthwhile to entertain a rapport of harmony with the kingdoms that coexist with you upon the same continent?” you ask mildly, directing as placid an expression as you can manage toward Qoren’s primary advisor, Lord Lewyn Uller, a madcap fellow of unpredictable energy. You are mightily proud of yourself for veiling the exasperation you feel, for speaking with Lord Uller is akin to going around in circles; he is most objectionable to the cause of alliance. “I should think that trade would be easier upon shared land.”
“Be that as it may, Princess,” the far more sedate Olyvar Jordayne – Sarella’s own brother – asserts, “Dorne has long nurtured a mutually beneficial link with the East; mere convenience is not enough to break bonds that already exist.”
At that, his gaze flickers cagily toward your husband, suavely sprawled in the seat beside you. Daemon had been stony-faced throughout these proceedings, chiming in only when able to offer a worthwhile response or acerbic witticism, choosing instead to allow you to lead. Although he had promised such on the journey, you are nonetheless pleased by the conviction he has placed in your ability to secure a satisfying conclusion to these events.
“Ah, yes,” your uncle voices sardonically, “the Triarchy is known for splitting the spoils of the Stepstones with their former allies, after all. Tell me, Your Highness” – he directs this to Prince Qoren himself, silent and watchful – “which half of those islands are yours now? I can’t recall.”
It is a worthy argument, if characteristically uncouth – you can see the line of Qoren’s jaw flex with tension at the question.
“None,” the man admits through his teeth, smiling too widely from across the table. “But that is not the point we are here to discuss. I do not see how Dorne can expect surety from an agreement with the Seven Kingdoms.”
You have been waiting for this opening – so much of the previous days had been spent prevaricating and hedging, and now it seems the Prince has finally lost the patience to conceal his reasons for delay. In the weeks leading to your departure for Dorne, you had devised an offering that could not possibly be refused; it will be a risky move, for you had sought no approval for the proposition save for the blessing of one. You hope that the scheme will not backfire, for it is already sure to cause a stir within your family.
“If it is surety you wish for, Prince Qoren,” you say, heart pounding in your chest, “then let this be a solution..."
TO BE CONTINUED!

A TRIAL, A LOCKDOWN, AND A LESSON IN DORNISH TEMPER;
when the party of volantis were spotted on the horizon of the dunes, they were awaited by the court of sunspear: adorned in white. a shade of peace, anywhere but dorne; for in dorne, white was a shade of mourning. the greatest of men had been cremated, his ashes sprinkled within the rivers of dorne: and yet, they awaited them in his home.
it were supposed to be a joint effort, the trial to condemn those who had been behind the brutal assassination of dorne's justiciar; and yet, when the greetings and pleasantries were spoken, the tone changed. expressions in the room changed, the air turned thick when four men were presented to the court of sunspear. chained. the agreement was a trial. now it were an execution. there came hushed whispers in the crowds as there was sudden movement by the martell prince, pulling the first minister, the second minister and the high commander to the side whilst the princess regent addressed the volantese.
she need not have looked behind her to know this was not to happen. "there has been a mistake, my lords. a trial is not an execution in dorne." only, it were painfully obvious that the dornish were not supposed to be part of the trial. how could they trust such actions taken were enough to bring justice for the death of rashid jordayne? it was then the prince of house martell stepped beside her, hands behind his kurta as he looked upon those who gave them men as though they were offerings. myriam quietly noticed the old bruising on them, the branding.
they exchanged a small glance. slaves. heated discussion went nowhere, and finally, there came the words that had been agreed by the group behind myriam should this go nowhere. "lock the palace down." came the words of the martell prince - and whilst the princess regent inwardly wondered whether they were jumping too high, too quickly, she nodded. "lock the palace down, high commander."
what happens in lockdown; (whilst myriam and the other courtiers remain trying to stress the fact dorne requires a trial to happen, including dornish judges and for evidence to be reviewed)
joy manwoody leads searches of the belongings of items be longing to the volantese in which she finds letters addressed to lord wylliam swann and lord deimos velaryon. the letters themselves remain blank, but joy is forced to restrain a man when she takes the empty letters into her custody. why did he react in such a way?
later on, joy is walking back to the main great hall when she finds a volantene in an area of the castle that should be locked off, close to the entrances of princess loreza martell's apartments. what would the man have wanted with the former wife of rashid jordayne?
baashir dayne finds a heavy pouch of westerland gold, imprinted with the symbol of a lion upon within the belongings of a man who resorted to violence. the moment his blade drew, baash was forced to cut down the man. why would they have westerland gold on them? what are they being paid for?
amaia sand sees zahra sand speaking with a woman she does not recognise, dressed in volatene fashion, outside the main halls of sunspear's hall. the conversation appears tense; but this woman is a paramour of one of the lords of volantis.

HOUSE MARTELL
Nymeria, the warrior queen of the Rhoyne, brought her ten thousand ships to land in Dorne, the southernmost of the Seven Kingdoms, and took Lord Mors Martell to husband. With her help, he vanquished his rivals to rule all Dorne.
The Rhoynar influence remains strong. Thus Dornish rulers style themselves “Prince” rather than “King.” Under Dornish law, lands and titles pass to the eldest child, not the eldest male.
Dorne, alone of the Seven Kingdoms, was never conquered by Aegon the Dragon. It was not permanently joined to the realm until two hundred years later, and then by marriage and treaty, not the sword.
Peaceable King Daeron II succeeded where the warriors had failed by wedding the Dornish princess Myriah and giving his own sister in marriage to the reigning Prince of Dorne.
The Martell banner is a red sun pierced by a golden spear.
Their words are Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken.
The principal houses sworn to Sunspear include Jordayne, Santagar, Allyrion, Toland, Yronwood, Wyl, Fowler, and Dayne.

THE NIGHT THE MOON WENT DOWN: THE END OF THE QAMAR OF THE TOR.
In the heart of Volantis, the ancient city brimming with juxtaposition and intrigue, Lord Rashid Jordayne of the Tor found himself entangled in a web of political schemes. His mission, meant to renegotiate peace and trade treaties initial set by Prince Mors of House Martell between Volantis and Dorne, had drawn the attention of shadowy figures with divergent interests to the entirety of rulers of the mighty city.
As the moon cast its silvery glow upon the sprawling city, Rashid attended a grand banquet in his honour, hosted in a lavish estate adorned with tapestries depicting the history of Volantis. He was unable to look away from the scenes depicting brutal slavery upon it; the whips, which seemed to become all too real. To many nameless slaves in the room that waited on him, their only depiction of their ancestors were the enslaved souls on the tapestries.
There was one moment in particular where a slave girl's hand shook as she offered him a drink, trembling as though she feared he would bestow something upon her.
Unbeknownst to him, whispers of dissent slithered through the halls. The night took a treacherous turn when Rashid, known for his vehement opposition to slavery and unwavering commitment to social justice, voiced his concerns about Volantis' reliance on the slave trade. His last words during the banquet had only been "We Are All Made Of The Same Clay" to bring a civil end to a no doubt tense discussion. His impassioned words resonated with some, but invoked resentment in others who thrived on the city's economic foundations. Those who believed Rashid's own opinions were a representation of Dorne's: and their involvement in the ways of Volantene governing.
Underneath the veneer of diplomacy, a clandestine plot unfolded. As Rashid retired to his quarters, he was ambushed by a group of masked assailants wielding concealed daggers. None would know the way in which he looked upon them when he turned, his intuition correct - for there came a strange, accepting sense of calm to realise one only had some moments left. "You had me wondering."
The flickering candlelight cast eerie shadows as the attackers, faces obscured by dark hoods, struck with lethal precision. A deadly silence enveloped the room as Lord Rashid Jordayne, advocate for change and a voice against the chains that bound men, succumbed to the cold steel of betrayal. His body, now a pawn in a deadly game of power, lay lifeless as the conspirators melted back into the shadows.
Only minutes later, that very same enslaved girl was the first to stumble across the corpse of the light of Dorne. Her tears came not only from a place of shock, but a place of mourning, for a man she had only known for the course of a banquet. We Are All Made Of The Same Clay. In the hours that unfolded, there was a rush by the Voltanese rulers to figure out what divergent group of extremists had done such a thing.
And a dispatch was sent to Sunspear, to inform them that the moon had gone down.

ooc information:
myriam would have been the one written to, and it would have been her who broke the news to the council and his only living family left, his wife the princess loreza martell and a single sister, who now rules the tor.
once returned home, rashid's body is embalmed with oils to keep it's state. many swear it looks as though he is merely sleeping, and can smell perfume and musk from him. he is kept to lay in state, first in sunspear for those to pay respect to the first justiciar of dorne, and then onwards to his lands of the tor.
rashid's cremation takes place within the sept of the four doors, a location of high religious significance within dorne. his ashes are then scattered into the river torrentine, as per tradition.

what; open starter when: moments following a mystery knight attempts to grievously harm king graham royce of the vale, armaan yronwood gets into an incident. ooc notes: he's about that life, y'all know he will fight - if you reply with a woman, pls know he's not gonna fight her, he's probably about to jump on someone she knows ugiudf
a rider had surely broken some sort of rule regarding the rules of jousting, considering the king of the vale was sent into the dirt with such force it felt as though all watched in momentary shock as he narrowly avoided by crushed by his own horse. there was chaos in the moments that followed, the knights of the vale seemingly to leap over the stands onto the main course, the queen of the vale and the dragon king standing in seconds.
there seemed to be so many people walking that the bloodroyal knew he wished to take the moment to seek out a certain lady grafton who was in charge of ensuring payment was secured into the riverlands: it were not as though they had not seen one another, with their gaze meeting throughout the tourney being held in kings landing.
armaan yronwood's mood, was not exactly at it's best. truthfully, it was beyond foul - and the one man who would have been able to at least be able to do something about it had been murdered at the hands of slavers. slavers that walked freely, proudly, and greatly there. armaan did not care for having to associate with slavers - those who murdered rashid of house jordayne?
Tumblr media
another matter entirely. perhaps because of the fact they were in this place, this new valyria with all it represented, perhaps because he did not appreciate the information he was acquiring from the lady of raventree hall being disrupted. his line of information was something sacred in his life, for it preserved something even more precious than the gods themselves: his gold.
bump, someone he had walked into or had walked into him, armaan of house yronwood cared not for. but the bump was there, and was not acknowledged as the man looked with a sense of fixed, sudden, impulsive anger. everything had confounded, and the bloodroyal's violent fury had found a victim.
some words about an apology was enough to cause no reaction at first, and then, the man did what he always did in these situations. he saw red. he were a snake that rose to the challenge, rather than deescalated. "you'll get no apology. the fuck you gonna do about it?" armaan asked, high on something; it was anger. there was no personal space, he had stepped forward and was directly in the man opposite him's face. face to face, provoking. take a swing. "you wanna stand there and look at me yeah? watch me nut in your mother, cunt."

| @myriamas | | setting :: some time after returning from the vale bash and myriam discuss their plans going forward as bash adjusts to his position as her first minister. | banter length
"I scheduled meetings with members of the council, chances to discuss with them the plans moving forward. There are still conflicts out there. I believe the Manwoody's are currently experiencing a conflict as well as the conflict for the Jordaynes with the Toland's. I have men prepared to join my cousin and help him deal with these concerns should he need further assistance. Shouldn't take much to handle. The Jordaynes are a force of their own. And, of course, my family." And of course, the blood of the Dawn Age would fortify the greatness of any house.
"The little Princess should have guards around her at all times. My brother will join her household upon his return from Alayim. I've informed him it's time to come home." The brother who travelled out while Baashir took his role as the the ruling lord seriously and now it looked as if that would mean something different as well. Dorne needed the unify. The great house needed to protect their princess.
Tumblr media
Bash closed the door to her office. Her office. What a strange thought. With her stewardship over the Princess it makes her the most powerful woman in Dorne and he was glad to serve her. Some would whisper though none would be fool enough to whisper in his hearing. The Princess wouldn't kill the late Prince nor would he have done so using poison. In his mind it ruled them out. And made everyone else the main suspects. Did he care enough to investigate? No. Let someone else take on the task.
"Princess." He pulled out the chair for her. "I'm going to eat now." Bash moved to his own seat, removing his gloves as he started to pile on his plate. "What are you doing today?"

ghost hill / house toland lore dump
key history
the tolands were a lordly house of some strength by the time of nymeria’s Conquest, some thousand years ago as one of the main allies of mors martell and princess nymeria (a shrewd move on nymeria’s part to forge an alliance with a key landing point on the sea of dorne). it is not noted whether they were orignally first men or andal in origin, but as mors' house was founded by an andal, i like to think they were andal. over time, however, the tolands' origins have been lost to time thanks to marrying into rhoynish families, and the tolands of today are considered to be rhoynar.
the tolands successfully resisted the dragons of aegon the conqueror during the first dornish war. the lord toland at the time sent out his champion to face aegon. After aegon slew the man, he learned that the man was lord toland's mad fool, and that lord toland himself had escaped.
once a mighty house, house toland has suffered through two generations of poor leadership. devani's father was rather uninterested in the life of a ruling lord, and his wife, devani's mother, is known to overreach her position and regarded as a social climber. once he passed, lordship fell to her brother aditya, the current ruling lord, who has made a sequence of poor decisions including a feud with the jordaynes. devani's sister, pallavi, married doran uller and was later executed for her role in trying to assassinate him. aditya's current heir is devani, who has spent most of her adult life missing after running away as a teenager and has only recently returned.
devani's paternal aunt married into house manwoody and is the mother of joy manwoody and her sisters. joy's position in court gave the toland's some protection, but after her death, they are once again in a precarious situation.
castle
their ancestral seat, ghost hill, lies on the southern shore of the sea of dorne, near the broken arm.
located atop a hill, ghost hill has chalk-white walls that shine against the deep blue of the sea of dorne. there are towers at the corners of the castle, which has a great central keep.
despite the name, ghost hill is a bright, welcoming castle with beautiful architecture and overall a pleasant place to be, if you can tolerate the ruling lord and his mother. devani toland is rarely found within the walls of ghost hill, as she is one of those who cannot tolerate their company.
sigil and words
prior to the dragon, the toland banners displayed a ghost. in later days, the tolands would take a new banner, showing a dragon biting its own tail, with the colors green in gold in memory of the motley of their brave fool - a mockery of the Targaryens’ vain attempt to take the Toland seat
there are no canon words for house toland - however, i like the idea that their words are "the spirit is stronger". the word spirit has a double meaning - both in the literal sense of the spirit of the tolands, and a reference to their ancestral seat of ghost hill.
unique customs
house toland is known to value wit, trickery, creative thinking, and unconventional solutions to problems, and is incredibly proud still of their history in doing so.
a notable custom of house toland is in their mourning practices. after a body is cremated of a family member, or other significant person, a chalk ghost is made to represent them and left in the grounds of ghost hill, open to the elements. the mourning period can only end once the ghost has eroded away. tolands of the past have been known to strategically place the ghosts depending on how they felt about the deceased - due to the shame devani's sister brought upon the family, for example, her ghost was positioned so it would constantly feel the spray of the sea of dorne, and thus was eroded within months. in contrast, devani's great-grandfather built an alcove in the walls of the castle for the ghost of his daughter, and it still stands to this day, almost a century later.

who: @nylajordayne where: the chambers of the princess of dorne in highgarden; it had been some weeks since the birth of her nephew had been announced, and myriam did not attend the namkaran of the child.
this night she wished not for the usual folk songs that played throughout the mosaic tiles of her chambers, reflecting and bouncing from one of the many domes across the fortress of sunspear. this night, the sounds of classical singing were ringing out from the chambers of the princess consort of dorne; her dark raven curls laid out upon her cushions upon her bed as she read some old poetry. words of old poetry from her time as a girl within godsgrace, words of poetry she would hear being sung into the night by wanderers along the greenblood.
the weight of the gold upon her ears had begun to ache, and so wordlessly, only with the jingling of her wedding bangles that remained on her wrists, she removed those gold earrings.
she could recognise the voice of nyla jordayne, even through the pulled curtains; it had a certain strange wisdom to it, wisdom that was beyond her years or even her usual nature. as though something else came over her when she opened her mouth and sung. as though she sung with the voice of her ancestors, all the women that came before her, before them both. she lowered her book of poetry as she listened to the singing, dissociating slightly at the words. the candles lit at her private shrine seemed to flicker and the idols of the seven remained watching upon her.
Tumblr media
she felt their eyes on her. felt their judgement. was she too wrapped up in the cultural pride of their ways, had she forgotten them? how could she forget them?
rising to her feet, she walked over to the separation between her personal chamber and the audience chamber, where the ladies were gathered. wordlessly, she locked eyes with the lady of house jordayne, before motioning for her to join her in private. a slight smile as she pushed through the curtain of flowers, marigolds to be specifically, brightly orange. “you have improved, you know?” she asked the lady as they crossed back into myriam’s personal chambers, her book of poetry remaining open. “it is as though someone else comes over you.”
she reaches forward, ensuring there is a space for the woman to sit beside her as she brought her closer. “i must ask you something...and i trust you to tell me plainly what you think of it, nyla.”

ooh I saw we were doing asks so what would be your ideal obscure house in westeros .... excluding any of the great houses, velaryon and hightower!! (Sorry cant make it too easy. Answer at your convenience m'lady, 💕 and 💋)
Greetings my lady 💋💋!
Thank you for your ask💕. To be honest I'm a total noob at asoiaf so I had to go through their wiki to search for houses and I narrowed it down to two.
1. House Ambrose of the Reach
Tumblr media
Their slogan: Never Resting looks so unique, along with the lines of ants it kind of symbolises tenacity which would be a good quality to strive for as a house, very much like a never give up motto. I think it also signifies striving to achieve things people might think you're incapable of and proving them wrong. A very underdog succeeds thing and I love it.
I'd also love to live in the Reach, surrounded by the lush fields and green gardens so that's a bonus.
2. House Jordayne of Dorne
Tumblr media
Again I love their slogan. They seem academically inclined, are one of the principal noble houses there plus Tor is located overlooking the southern Dornish sea, very picturesque. A well to do family, a fine castle and a poetic motto, count me in!

REGION SPOTLIGHT :: THE KINGDOM OF DORNE
The winds of change never stop blowing in Westeros and the same can be said for the region of Dorne. From the death of their Prince, Mors Martell, who ruled for his father to be murdered at the start of his own reign leaving his daughter a monarch all too young. An ever changing court of Lords and Ladies answering the call of the Widowed Princess Myriam Allyrion. Will this new small council be able to handle all that comes with ruling in the stead of a child? Will their courtiers have trust in their Widow Princess? Her council? Or will whispers and accusations of murder grow louder?
Recent Plot Drop: The murder of Lord Rashid Jordayne within voltantis is bound to have severe consequences for the relations between the two realms. will the tolands of ghost hill take advantage of the tor's recent mourning and strike the tor hard?
Houses can be found here. Beneath the cut will include the Small Council of the reigning sovereign of Dorne Princess Leila of House Martell
Wanted Connections: 2 Sisters and 1 brother (Lord of High Hermitage) of House Dayne, sisters of House Manwoody, Sister of House Jordayne, and many more! Come join us in Dorne where they remain UNBOWED, UNBENT, UNBROKEN.
THE SMALL COUNCIL OF DORNE:
current regent, with stewardship over the princess: princess dowager myriam allyrion, wife of the previous prince, mors martell. (if someone picks up a martell, i'd be down for there to be tensions regarding them thinking they should be the regent considering they are a martell)
the first minister of the realm: lord baashir of house dayne, the sword of the morning. this is the equivalent of the 'hand' only they are not called such a thing in dorne, for to consider someone a 'hand' is believed to be degrading. baashir sees over a large stretch of affairs in dorne: but is more military and political rather than social or economic.
the second minister of the realm: dante uller. this individual oversee social conflict within dorne; they are settling regional disputes before it goes further up the chain. they do answer to baashir, tho traditionally the first and second minister work well with one another. they hear audiences and petitions, etc.
the high commander: lady joy of house manwoody. her position is that of strategy and overseeing the standards of the armed forces of dorne, which have now become a standing army. could be a controversial move. she also decides the standards of the armed forces, and their regime.
the master of laws: lord dastan allyrion. he is the voice of justice, and works closely with the second and first minister. dastan will be the judge on trials, working closely with a jury. it is he that is responsible for ensuring the laws of the lands are upheld. drafting new ones, removing old ones, etc. master of whispers: lord doran uller. he is responsible for keeping up to date with what is happening beyond the borders of dorne. his official focus is beyond dornish borders.
master of whispers: lord doran uller. he is responsible for keeping up to date with what is happening beyond the borders of dorne. his official focus is beyond dornish borders.
the master of coin: armaan yronwood. this individual is mathematical minded, and is focused on dorne trying to have a source of sustainable income, inspired by the reach. he knows they need something regular and steady. setting up the likes of banks, multiple branches across the country. he also wants to raise taxes, oof, drama.
the court granthi: OPEN. oh wisdom. this character is the one who can look up ancient lore, does a lot of consistent research of all things knowledge. excavation, unearthing long lost buried structures. this person is also considered to be the holiest person in all of dorne, and is dorne's link with the seven. naturally, due to their differences, this person has a lot of feelings about the rest of westeros and their version of following the seven. knowledge is power, and granted by the gods.
NOT ON THE COUNCIL BUT POSITIONS NONETHELESS:
the web: amaia sand. works closely with the keeper of whispers, and the master of laws. they are the ones who are the flies on the wall, the spies who know how to find themselves in the situations they need to be to hear things. they are referred to simply as 'the web' for they can find oneself tangled. once they have what they need, they tell the master of laws, and it goes further up the chain.
court astrologer:` zahra sand. astrology was huge in india, and i wanna bring it here. they consult the planets, birth charts, to advise on decision making dates and announcements.
finally, we have the justiciar of dorne, who is rashid jordayne. he works alongside his wife loreza martell as almost a 'last chance' way of trying to settle an issue. he is called into dealing with matters should talks have broken down, and any trials are either not able to happen, or have proved to be inconclusive. they are an objective perspective, who present their findings after an investigation directly to myriam.

who: @ofsandandblood what and when: set during the dornish plot drop with sunspear in lockdown. amaia has seen zahra sand, the court seer, talking to a woman from volantis.
as soon as he had heard the word lockdown come from the lips of the regent and the martell prince alike, the bloodroyal of yronwood had quietly sent for an increased presence of guards to be stationed in two places. one, where his twin sons were located within the fortress and their apartment chambers: secondly, his personal quarters where his correspondence and money meant to preserve the connection he had forged in the riverlands. his knowledge of any forthcoming attacks upon the lyseni, for as long as willow blackwood was able to have any inclination that something may be planned to strike back against the attacks on the river market.
armaan played no role in the diplomatic negotiations as tensions continued to reach dizzying heights, sat as ominously as a panther in the corner of the room, seated comfortably upon the steps of the throne leading up to the martell's throne. kiaan was not sat in it, and armaan knew the reason he kept himself in such a position was directly to remind himself why he needed to ensure he kept himself cool. at a level, rather than allow the rage he felt at such a snub to come over him.
they had awaited the trial after having made it clear they expected involvement in sentencing those who had committed the most grievous of murders.
Tumblr media
it was not like armaan of house yronwood to idealise any human, but if there was any who deserved, it was rashid jordayne. and so, he remained sat upon the steps of the throne, as if to remind himself what it was rashid had died for - there was not an inch of him that believed he would not have known what was coming. what was brewing. he prayed that when rashid jordayne had died, he died in acceptance. vital, considering armaan yronwood hardly prayed.
there was a spider watching him. not a literal spider, but a person who was able to be in the corners of rooms and sneak around in a similar manner as one. another uller, this one a bastard, finding her way around; it were not as though he did not know of amaia sand - for she had ended up in his bed multiple times. he merely fixed his stormy gaze upon her, as though to silently ask her what she wanted.
still, he said nothing. she wanted something, and it was not him. not now, of all times; neither of them were that stupid.
