Voor het eerst een foto uit Duitsland. In het Ruhrgebied zijn tientallen slakkenbergen te vinden. Slakkenbergen zijn enorme hopen mijnafval, voornamelijk uitgegraven grond. De meeste slakkenbergen hebben een recreatieve functie gekregen, veelal gekoppeld aan het mooie uitzicht op naastgelegen steden. Bij Duisburg is op een van de slakkenbergen dit kunstwerk gebouwd. Het kunstwerk heet Tiger and Turtle en doet denken aan een achtbaan. Het is ook mogelijk om de baan af te lopen, al bleek de looping wel een brug te ver! —————- A first time posting from Germany! When we were in the Ruhr area we visited “Tiger and Turtle”. This work of art has been build on top of one of the many hills in the area. This hills are remenents of the mining history. They were erected by creating artificial hills from the ground which was came from the earth when the mines were dug. This artwork resembles a roller coaster.
