spoilers for season five of the hotel podcast

so i feel like this might be common knowledge already but whatever. So in the 3 episodes where the new staff were introduced, the Manager was paired with the Bellhop (the lobby boy’s “other”), the Lobby Boy was paired with the Concierge (the manager’s “other”), but the owner was paired with the Auditor (the “other” of himself)

and i feel like this sort of shows something about the three og staff. The Manager and Lobby Boy care about each other, their greatest fear is losing the other, thus they met the new staff equivalent of each other instead of theirs. Meanwhile, the Owner’s biggest fear is he himself being replaced or getting rid of, hence why he met the Auditor.

Ok so the other day I read somewhere a hc about Alastor ─ that he found out about podcasts, started listening to many of them and this is how he knows modern slang.

Now imagine. Alastor's fav podcast type being true crime podcast.

BUT.

He only listens to podcasts talking about his own crimes. It feeds his ego that people, even after so many years, still talk about his misdeeds. It's so entertaining for him to listen to a random person trying to solve his victims' cases. Oh, how much fun it provides him. Yes, yes, let them talk more about how gruesome his murders were.

It looks like he has found a new hobby. Charlie should be pleased ─ after all, it's nothing macabric. Just listening to some podcasts.
