Now that the video is posted, let's discuss the details. First of all, let's talk about this hat 😍 we received this Badlands Rancher in sage as a collaboration piece from @tworoads_hatco and the quality is just astronomically high. The Australian wool is to die for, it has a beautiful leather sweatband, and heck, even the packaging was unique and thoughtful! Now, the design. We wanted to try out a few ambitious goals that we were sure could be pulled off in the right setting; themed/fan art, heavy blacks, and glow. This is the perfect piece to pull those together. Inspired greatly by @someb_ooks now cult classic Over The Garden Wall, we wanted this hat to hit on a lot of pieces of the show but still be visually interesting to those that haven't seen it. The design features Beatrice the bluebird, a peach (referencing Send Me a Peach from the soundtrack by @blastingcompany ), Greg's frog and the teapot piece of his costume, the Beast's lantern, oak branches to reference the edelwood trees, near invisible web and thread detail, and Adelaide's scissors. We worked hard to make the all black lantern readable while trying to keep as much detail as possible. The lantern and left crown have invisible UV paint details that, when lit and then plunged into darkness, show the lantern light revealing the Beast's true form. To achieve the look of the web and thread (a reference to Adelaide), we burned them into the felt and then meticulously worked the burn out without sacrificing the hats structure. The double eyed peacock pheasant feather was specifically picked to reference a possessed dog with crazed, shiny eyes mistaken to be the Beast.
