do not even talk to me about any "my fav is doomed by the narrative" shit unless u witnessed the Sylvanas Incident of 2018-2022 because that was my final straw

#infodump in tags #not even the narrative. she was doomed by the narraTORS #Edge of Night is one of the most powerful and beautiful works ever added to the WoW canon.#and then it got retconned for alien lava worms. all because we needed a way to get to the shadowlands.#a truly morally gray character turned into this weird poster figure for some antagonistic force the writers werent sure how to handle yet #i am actively exploring the reality where EoN is still canon and she never became warchief #i miss her bickering with garrosh it was such interesting tension for the horde and also was a very interesting way to characterize her #like how she stuck up for kul tirans and didnt approve of the theramore attack but still did everything she did to gilneas #THAT was some REAL ethically questionable shit that i will actually find interesting.#not whatever the fuck bfa/sl was.#she makes me so sad.#warcraft #sylvanas windrunner

geniune question, did i miss the horde apologizing or paying reparations somewhere for teldrassil or did blizz really coerce them into helping the nelfs make a new world tree and went eh that's good enough? i havent finished the amirdrassil patch and havent played my hordie through dragonflight yet, but it feels weird that we've gotten this far and everyone just seems to have moved on without so much as an actual apology, i feel like i must have missed something somewhere. like did they ever just....say sorry LOL
