I’m still really obsessed with upgrading my airsoft sniper because I really want it to perform well. Like, since it’s bolt action, I can understand every moving piece in it, and I can upgrade nearly every single piece. In fact, I have plans to upgrade a lot of the parts.

I’m kinda fueled by the sheer number of people on airsoft sniper forums that will tell you to not waste your time with the model I use. That, and it was a gift from my parents, so I really want it to shine.

Ironically, I wanted it since the other brand, Tokyo Marui, is notorious for requiring players to replace every single piece for it to perform even remotely well. The striker didn’t seem like it was that way, only to learn it kinda is but not really. A lot of the stock parts are good, it’s just brought low from it’s Achilles Heel: low cylinder volume. Low volume = less air = less energy = less range and a bunch of other things. By tuning it around its unique issues, it can be mitigated, which is what I’m hoping to do.

550mm inner and outer barrel > 310mm

By tuning the cylinder volume to barrel volume ratio, you can ensure that the bb has enough energy and air to leave the barrel properly and travel long distances

6.03mm > 6.01mm diameter inner barrel

Less wiggle room and affects the barrel ratio

Replace hopup with aftermarket one

Unsure of its effects, but I’ve heard it’s an improvement and one of the first upgrades to make

Replace Allen wrench hopup screw with a dial

Quality of life mod, screw is stuck underneath scope and is inaccessible on the field

Upgrade piston to endure higher power springs

Stock piston is not strong enough to withstand higher power springs, which is part of where a sniper gets its range.

Upgrade cylinder head to rubber nozzle

Unsure of its effects, might increase the air seal around the bb and increase efficiency

Upgrade cylinder to single-piece high volume, if not just high volume.

Major issue is low cylinder volume, increasing it drastically betters the range among many other facets. Single-piece simply lowers the risk of issues occurring

Upgrade bucking to probably 70* stiffness from a better brand

Bucking increases backspin on bb and thus increases range. Higher quality brand bucking typically performs better in range and consistency than other brands.
