I’ve been sketching Sburb people a lot lately (midnight crew, the felt, the exiles) i find them really facinating and i felt like finishing this one

I feel like since the game folks never speak directly with anyone (as in, speaking in textbox with any player instead of the “you do this, you go there” dinamic) we kinda forget they’re normal people.  I love the lore around the carapace and i really want to explore more about them in the csau epiloge

Day 10 - I feel like the Exiles are very underrated characters in Homestuck. I love these goobers :) (Also, I STILL haven't finished Homestuck 😭 please no spoilers )

Thinking about how wv and pm are the ones that threw the rings into the volcano. About how act 7 OPENS with wv and pm. About how they were there from the beginning and they were hurt so much by this game they were hurt so much by their role in it but-- but here they are. They made it to the end. They survived. It cost them everything, but- but-- but they finally have a chance to try again. To start over and fulfill the dream of a democratic world that wv championed.

It's the fact that they're the ones who threw the rings, not the players, because they're the ones who were going to really truly create this world. They lost everything, but they're the ones who ended up actually properly WINNING. I'm normal.

You can really tell that Andrew Hussie wasn't really sure what to do with the exiles post Act 5, so he killed most of them in Cascade. Which by itself isn't bad, they were tertiary characters at best, but it's pretty obvious WV was saved because he was a fan favorite. Similar problem with Spades Slick post Cascade, and just with Homestuck as a whole. Instead of being their own, fleshed out characters, they are dragged around the narrative for no real reason, until one is pointlessly killed off(Slick) and the other becomes practically a dog for the main cast(WV).

Karkat and WV.

Both were leaders who nearly led their comrades to their goal — and then Sovereign Slayer appeared.

Both blamed themselves for that.

Both were the lowest a member of their species can be.

Both shouted at Egbert in all caps! And both ended up on good terms with Egbert!

And both spent three years on the meteor moving from the post-Scratch troll session to the post-Scratch kid session.

I also realized, though, Karkat could actually avoid WV, at least for some time, because *he created Sovereign Slayer*. The death of WV’s comrades and friends is just more for him to blame himself for.

He is now within the grasp of my grubby fingers.
