higher beings handwriting headcanons

I’m inflicting this on all of you. Some of them have no hands to write. I’m ignoring that.

The Pale King: This motherfucker writes like a doctor. W&G readers know that I’m convinced no one can read his writing except him (and maybe not even him sometimes). He writes microscopic as well in order to fit more onto the paper including in the margins. (TBH, same)

The White Lady: Her handwriting is immaculate, people weep over the curvature of her letters, we are all convinced she does calligraphy but it’s actually just incidentally pretty.

Grimm: Actually DOES do calligraphy in his spare time but his normal handwriting is almost as bad as PK’s.

The Radiance: When she tries, her handwriting is quite pretty. When she doesn’t try, you can tell she’s related to Grimm, but hers can at least be read. Also she writes really big and it’s inconvenient for everyone.

Unn: Has no hands. Irrelevant. Writes neatly but it looks like you’ve been doing one of those elementary school work sheets. She’s okay with that. She probably puts hearts over the i’s though.

Shade Lord: Everything is smeared together, when they bother at all. They will not apologize. Somehow still more legible than Grimm and PK.

Talking to Lurien in a dream

I'm sticking with the Godseeker ending, with a number of headcanons of my own

For example, that the Dreamers were aware of themselves and their surroundings the whole time they were in the Dreaming. And they could also keep an eye on the real world through the reveries of the not yet infected bugs

So, Herrah slipped into meditation, a dream within a dream, and didn't follow the real world, as she didn't see the point of it, since she couldn't affect it in any way anyway (Herrah didn't even follow her tribe or Hornet. She was used to controlling her life and always fighting for it, so when control was taken away from her, she simply withdrew into herself, for there was no point in aimless watching)

Monomon was mostly absorbed in Quirrell's dreams, following his wanderings, and her own musings on the nature of the mortal world and the dream world. The dreams of ordinary bugs didn't bother her much (Her biggest problem was her inability to write down her ideas. After a while, she even tried scratching out words on rocks, but that was hardly possible for non-existent objects. Especially if you only had soft tentacles)

Lurien, living up to his title of Watcher, had been watching the world through the bug's dream all this time (and since the King's plan went to hell, he's been subjected to the inevitable self-digging and self-loathing for giving his life away for free for a shitty plan by a shitty ruler) He's just too damn tired and frustrated, forgive him

And, after the ending of Godseeker, the Dreamers wake up from their slumber, and try to do something about the ruins of their kingdom. Working for free again ¦D

#I wanted to portray Lurien as less pathetic but he still looks pretty darn pathetic...#I'm sorry #In fact in my mind he's not so insignificant #He was an unassuming and withdrawn individual before becoming a Dreamer #But two decades spent isolated in the middle of nowhere while your King's plan cracks at the seams has awakened his resentment and anger #At least he realized he didn't want to live such a dismal life again if he could survive after all this of course #hollow knight #Hk #hk dreamers #hk little ghost #hk lurien #hk herrah #hk monomon #lurien the watcher #herrah the beast #monomon the teacher #hk the knight #hk ghost

Not Dream and Not Want or else she #will fall to the infection. I guess you could make the argument that being a demigod grants her immunity but that's less interesting to me #The fight to remember her life and herself through the years of stasis while also shutting every emotion down. I think what we see of her i #the game—esp her emotion towards the end—is the cracks in her armor that she deliberately doesn't fix because she knows one way or another #all of this will end. the burden is off her shoulders

ik people like menderbug hegemol theory/headcanon, but have you all considered:

lurien's butler hegemol. thematic significance. hegemol and lurien can be implied to be working together in some capacity, such as the statue by the city gates and hegemol having the key, hegemol just. disappearing after his armor was stolen.

it would also account for the soft voice thing since the butler is a cowardly husk whomst is v smol, and politeness is grilled into butlers.

i also think it would be incredibly funny but also incredibly sad since he waited at lurien's side even as infection overtook his mind.

also, it would make sense for lurien to have a highly trained fighter to guard him at all times, and for that highly trained fighter to be lauded by the king for protecting an important figure

anyway this was me rambling a random theory that doesnt have very good legs, lmk all your thoughts

So I was inspired by this post by @bluegekk0. The vessels just a mass of tendrils and roots are pretty sick. But for some reason, my mind immunity thinks about the Ents from Lord of The Rings when I see the design. It would be fitting to consider that Ents are most likely the most powerful creatures in all of Middle Earth and the pure vessel fight can be absolute hell.

I did the lost kin fight again and I just.

even as a spirit, even as an entity between the living and the waking, as an entity of dreams, the vessels cannot talk. Lost Kin, after it all, bends down to look at their sibling, and then disperses into essence. The only prompt is Accept.

and out of all of the dream bosses they give the most essence. They were the youngest. They had the most potential and the most dreams. And then all they could do was offer their sibling those dreams, silently.
