S i g h .
(not decided yet if i can resubscribe 🙃) but
Since we're already speculating and manifesting, here are my predictions:
- K drinking shots from H's belly button (who of course will stick his belly out and spill everything)
- K pretending a palm tree or cactus is his boner
- recreation of finnish lakeside double moon on tropical beach
- both trying to climb and sit on frank in tandem in the water (absolute chaos)
- bath slipper spanking (💀 idk everything seems to be on the table. Again.)
- guest star jukka popping out of the water (ei vittu etc. etc.)
- if cute: buried in sand to the waist with sand-sculpted mermaid tail, showing off the boobs
- if on brand: buried up to waist and head is a penis tip or *something* breaks through the sand (maybe jukka lmao. With a snorkel. In someone's crotch area obviously.)
(This is by no means a whishlist 😂 i hope he'll make some different posts, too. Like. Under a waterfall or just going to town on a juicy mango. He could ride a surfboard in the string 😂 He could get a *new* holiday string 🤩🍍)

𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘐 𝘴𝘯𝘶𝘤𝘬 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘦
𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘮𝘺 𝘧𝘢𝘵𝘦.
It was Alexandra's third summer in a row on the Outer Banks. Paradise on earth, that was what some people told about those islands in North Carolina.
It had now become a tradition: the entire year spent between Switzerland, where she studied at one of the most prestigious universities, the Principality of Monaco, her homeland, and, obviously, several trips throughout Europe; the summer, those three months, spent in the mansion in Chapter Hill, where her mother's new and third husband was native.
It was during her first American summer that the young Monegasque discovered the existence of what kooks and pogues were. It was Topper Thornton, son of the current 'stepfather''s sister, who explained it to her. The young blond man was very adamant in telling her to stay as far away as possible from the pogues, the dregs of society.
But if there was one thing Alexandra hated, that was being told what to do. Although, at least for the first summer, the girl with long dark hair listened to her adoptive cousin; After all, who wanted to get their new Loubotins dirty in the mud of the Cut? Surely not her.
During that first summer, locked in the luxury of Figure Eight, Alexandra made friends with the most influential young people in the area, among them the Cameron siblings. Rafe and Sarah. Sometimes Alexandra even doubted they were real siblings, Dow how much different they were. Sarah was weird, to stay at least, according to a kook standard; and Rafe was… Rafe was simply Rafe.
However it was with the oldest Cameron that Alexandra bounded more. There was nothing romantic between them, they didn’t like each other that way, still their companion was not exactly disturbing to each other.
When she returned to Lugano, the young girl even managed to stay in touch with her new friends, and, when summer knocked on the door again, returning to the Outer Banks was less harrowing than the first time, even almost pleasant. But it was precisely that second summer that suddenly turned her life upside down.
It was during a late afternoon in mid-August, when Alexandra went to a beach, alone, to have some fun on a surfboard. The sun, close to setting, with its rays made the entire beach a picturesque, even hypnotic, panorama. Alexandra felt a weird yet calm feeling about it.
Placing her bag and clothes near a palm tree, the girl grabbed her surfboard and ran towards the water, that day the waves were truly beautiful, just ready to be ridden. Alexandra loved surfing, ever since her father took her to the Gold Coast on holiday as a child; she had never stopped since then and she was waiting for the summer with trepidation for it.
Unfortunately, her new kook friends weren't into surfing, no, they were into more 'refined' sports. So screw them, she was going alone.
Masterfully she began her ride, only to fall when she heard applause coming from the beach. Who dared to scare her and make her fall?
It was when she came up from the water, and pushed her hair back from her eyes, that her dark eyes fell on the figure of the boy on the beach. A boy she never saw before, but now she wished she did.
To say he was handsome was an understatement. Blonde locks of hair, sparkling blue eyes, an athletic figure and a smile which could light up a whole room.
But she had to remember she was angry at him for scaring her. “Are you fucking stupid?” She yelled in his direction. “I could have died!”
Was she being over dramatic? No, she wasn’t, there was not such a thing.
“My apologies, princess!” The boy chuckled with a shrug. “Couldn’t help but show my admiration for such a goddess!”
Alexandra had to fight to urge to smile at his compliments. “Next time wait to face me to actually talk to me.” She said with a roll of her eyes. She grabbed her surfboard and made her way to the shore.
Now, coming face to face with the boy, she had to admit he was even more handsome. There was something of malicious in his eyes, but in a good way. Everything about him was so different from the rich, wealthy boys she had to deal with every day; which led her to understand he was what they called a pogue.
Although, he looked too handsome for a pogue.
“Not yelling anymore, Frency?” The boy teased her, snapping her back to reality.
“I’m not French.” Alexandra snapped back. She knew Americans were geographically ignorant, and that boy, even though his beauty, just confirmed her such a theory. “What are you doing here?”
Just then, the girl noticed the surfboard at his feet. Obviously, what else was he supposed to do at the beach? It was too late to get a tan. “Your same reason.” He said, holding out a hand in her direction. “JJ, my pleasure.”
They always told her not to trust a single pogue, that they were bad, unreliable people, and yet that boy seemed like a good guy; could his angelic appearance divert a diabolical personality?
Despite this, Alexandra shook his hand anyway. He was just being nice now, what could go wrong? “And I’m Alexandra.”
“Mind a surf battle?”
“You know what? Let’s do it.”
That meeting was only the prelude to what would happen to her in her last two weeks in America. She never told her kook friends about that, she was sure they wouldn’t have approved; plus it was nice to have a ‘secret’ for her only.
JJ and her met almost everyday, at same hour, at the same beach, where they knew they couldn’t be bothered. In so little time they managed to create such a beautiful and deep relationship, sharing things they never told anyone but each other.
They were each other’s secret, and it was okay; at least for that summer.
The day Alexandra had to leave, to return to her life, JJ gave her a bracelet, as a memory of him and those secret moments they shared which they would have reminisced forever. He even gave her a passionate kiss, to quote his words ‘for not forgetting the American dream she never knew to have’. He was smiling, but his eyes were telling another story.
He did not want her to go away, but there was not much he could do about. He just had to wait another summer.
And now, finally, June just came, Alexandra’s family private jet just landed in Figure Eight, late in the night.
Her third American summer, Alexandra was excited about it, feeling that sensation that her life would have changed forever.
Pt.2 coming sometimes soon.
Imagine dedicated to my bestie @namelessalessandra 🌟🌟 now waiting for you to join kooks side!!✨✨
English is not my first language, so I’m excused for some mistakes. Now people, don’t come stealing my masterpiece, ‘cos I’ll come for you. You’ve been warned. Use your imagination, if you have one. Kisses, toodles.💋💋

@waveofstars
“No offense,” he said, turning his body toward her as they walked down the busy boardwalk, his iced coffee swishing in its clear plastic cup, “but I just don’t get the appeal of living somewhere that’s all summer, all the time.” Joey and Chey were in California, her neck of the woods, for the holiday season—or at least, part of it, until they figure out when the O’Connors’ annual Christmas party is—and he was finally getting the tour of one of her favorite beaches. Their fateful road trip to Tennessee wouldn’t be for a few years; this was a warm winter memory, literally and figuratively, bookmarked with a polaroid of the two of them on this day still tucked in the back of Joey’s wallet.
(Once in a while discovered by Penny when she’s told to grab a tip or a credit card or something.)
It was a bright summer day, too hot for the day before Christmas Eve, as physically disorienting as the time difference between here and his home. “We’re supposed to be cuddled up to a fire, drinking hot cocoa, or fuckin’, I dunno, ice skating or something,” he teased, snickering. “Not—” he weaved past a surfer wearing a Santa hat— “taking me to a surfing lesson.” At least, he thought, that her tree at home was filled with gifts they had for each other and each other’s families.
He threw away his coffee, holding his surfboard tighter against his chest and cracking a smile. A signal to show it was all in jest, and he wouldn’t give this up for anything in the world. “But at least you’re in a hot-ass bikini. Damn, woman. Christmas came early or what?” He pinched her side.

The Ledge #599: Annual Christmas Extravaganza!
Every year I spend the last few weeks of the year searching for new holiday songs for The Ledge's annual Chirstmas special. Inevitably, every year I find more than enough songs to fill over two hours of broadcast time. This is the perfect soundtrack for this year's festivities. A little bit of punk, a lot of power pop. Some veteran acts return with new tunes (Brinsley Scwarz, The Sensible Gray Cells, The Dollyrots), mixed in with plenty of brand new discoveries whose future releases I'll definitely be investigating.
Just because it's a Christmas special doesn't mean we're ignoring the "52 Weeks Of Teenage Kicks" series. This week's version is truly a Christmas present, as Dos Enchiritos is a collaboration between my friend of almost 50 years, Craig Stenseth, and a previous contributor, Brent Dowell. It's a great version that I can honestly say is unlike any I've played the previous 50 weeks.
Obviously, next week will be the conclusion of this series, but I'm still in the hunt to round out the year with yet one more new take on the tune. Please contact me if you are looking at contributing!

After our two days in Te Aroha at the start of the week, I took the rest of the week off and we went to Kaitaia. On Friday it is a public holiday for Martariki/ the Māori New Year. The Māori are people who like many tribes, live by the moon, the tides and the planting season, so as we head out of winter and start to sew the seeds for summer, the Māori year begins. This day also coincides with the arrival of a star constellation in our skies called the Seven Sisters or Martariki. But for us, it just meant a good excuse to take a long weekend and head up to see Grant and Jill in Kaitaia!
The idea was to also follow Jamie up to Kaitaia to give him the proper send off for starting his van trip. It has been long delayed, I think he was initially supposed to start his trip after his birthday in May, but despite the setbacks, he has now started and it worked out pretty well for us too. On Tuesday night we drove up to Ellerslie to stay with my Aunty and Uncle as we were also taking Jasper with us. We had a nice dinner with them before having an earl night as we were planning on hitting the road early. We woke up at 4.30, Jojo, my Aunt, also woke up as she had the flower market, so at 4.30am we were all up, had our morning coffees and then we were on the road. Starting in Ellerslie and before all of the traffic was a great call, by 7am we were half way there and the trip was pretty fast. We had a break at half time and went for a walk in Whangarei near the waterfall and surrounding New Zealand bush. It was a stunning walk and a lovely way to start our morning and stretch our legs. The New Zealand bush is really something that you don’t see anywhere else, it is so dense with vegetation, every layer of the bush has something growing and competing for light. Benoit and I love walking, checking out the wildlife, flora and faun and doing our best to identify as many of the trees as possible. Once we arrived at Grant and Jills, we had lunch with everyone, as always the first shared meal is a long one, full of catch up stories and laughs. Then Jasper, Benoit and I headed out to the bach to get unpacked and check out the surf. Jamie had bought all our surfboards up for us, so luckily we didn’t have to drive 5 hours with them on top of my car, but so worth it as we had a great time playing in the waves that first day. I was actually surprised with myself, I was keen to get in the water and use up some energy, and try catch some waves. That first afternoon we just surfed outside the bach as the waves looked pretty good and we were happy to just have a play. But since then, Benoit had his sights set on the well known surfer spot, shipwrecked bay. Like the name suggests there is what is left of an old shipwreck in the bay. What remains is only the boiler room, but at low tide you can see what isn’t buried by the sand and years of salt water erosion. The bay is small with a near perfect left hand break. The waves were small for the rest of the weekend and the conditions were perfect for beginners. We spent a few hours every day surfing, enjoying the clear cold water, the sun on our faces and a the feeling of gliding along either while paddling out or catching the occasional wave. We were all happy with our progress and I think a few more days and a few of surfing sessions would have been appreciated.
Apart from surfing we spent time with Grant and Jill, we helped Jamie with some serious repairs on his van. He is currently tackling quite a few projects on the van and is slowly regretting the fact that he built such a masterpiece in a van with so many problems. We spent a significant amount of time grinding out areas that were rusted through, painting it with rust kill, priming and re-painting them. It is a long process and one that really makes your realise how much rust was already in the van, but one that is luckily fixable. While Benoit and Jamie were doing that, I wrote ‘The Travelling Wood Turner’ on the Vans sides, first in pencil and then I went over it in paint. He did want to have one of his friends do it in spray paint, but he ran out of time, so I was on signwriting duties. It was a fun task and much better than grinding out rust. Grantie had the task of building a lathe attachment to the back of the van. The idea is to turn wood during his travels and raise money for suicide awareness, so one of the integral parts of the trip requires the capability to be able to turn his wood. He bought a little lathe that is smaller and lighter than his existing one, and then Grant and Jamie designed and welded up an attachment to the back of his van to support it. It is quite a large box despite being one of the smallest lathes he could buy so it is not an easy task. They plan to attach it to the towbar but they are still in the development phase so I am not yet sure how it turned out.
On Sunday morning we left the winterless north, with slight tans on our faces from the hours spent in the salt water and sun and with a heavy muscle fatigue from surfing and the sea air. It is always a treat to head up north, to see family, to enjoy the quieter and more simple side of life. One where most problems are solved with a beer at the end of the day, and simple pleasures like a good meal or a win for the All Blacks is all that you need. We were so blessed with the weather these last few days, it almost felt like summer, maybe we should come live here for a while?

Independence Day Hawaiian Shirt
youtube
An Independence Day Hawaiian shirt is a unique piece of clothing that combines two distinct cultural symbols: the Hawaiian shirt and the American flag. This shirt is typically worn on the 4th of July, which is a national holiday celebrating American independence. The Hawaiian shirt is known for its bright, bold prints that often feature tropical motifs such as palm trees, hibiscus flowers, and surfboards. These shirts are popular in Hawaii and other tropical locations, as well as among tourists who want to embrace the laid-back island lifestyle.
When combined with the American flag, the Independence Day Hawaiian shirt takes on a new meaning. It represents the fusion of two cultures and celebrates the idea of diversity and inclusion. It is a symbol of patriotism that honors the history and traditions of the United States, while also acknowledging the contributions and influence of other cultures. Wearing an Independence Day Hawaiian shirt on the 4th of July is a way to show pride in both American heritage and the spirit of aloha. It is a fun and festive way to celebrate the holiday and bring people together, regardless of their background or origin.
