“Finrod and Amarie fail to form a romantic relationship after his re-embodiment” as a part of my quiet “You can never go home/What each of them longs for cannot be gained in an enclosed, stagnant realm of clueless, passive, unwilling deities/Revolution is brewing in Valinor” agenda.

Uk im just thinking about it but like, how would our Bill react hypothetically if after this is all said and done Dipper Flinches when Bill reaches for him? Like ik that shits gotta be traumatizing and it would make sense for Dipper to react like that for a bit right after but i’m just dying to know what Bill would think about that or how he would cope with those reactions knowing why he’s getting them
:3c
This is fun because Bill is great at nightmares, torment, and all kinds of nasty shenanigans - but reassurance is so far outside his wheelhouse he couldn't see it with a telescope.
Once Dipper flinches, Bill's going to be stuck with his hand in the air, not quite touching Dipper. Definitely not smiling anymore. And experiencing a rare moment of having absolutely no idea what to do.
....So I give it about a minute before his frustration boils over and he defaults to finding something to obliterate.

So you said a while ago underfell was your favorite au before. Is that still true or?
Also who’s your favorite character from whatever au you like?
damn, you were around for that? :'D
yeah, underfell used to be my favorite! i think it was smth about being really edgy as a kid, or maybe it was because red was my favorite color. idk man, even now i gotta admit those designs slap really hard.
i'm not really sure if i have a favorite au now though. i do have some ideas for underfell that i like, but i think i see the appeal of most aus bc i just like making new scenarios.
i like the big three a lot (classic, fell, swap). sans is my favorite in classic (predictable i know) if you're not counting gaster, since he isn't technically a canon character. i like both fell paps and fell sans equally, and swap paps is cool. i'd be buddies with that guy.
(i also really like asgore in undertale. the tragedy of the grief-stricken ruler who kills even though it's against his nature for the freedom of his people but also because he's long past convinced he's in too deep is really compelling to me, and by proxy i'm interested in the theoretical stories of all the fallen humans including frisk. also the whole thing with their broken family and chara and—
—whoops the ask is about aus not canon lmao, sorry!)

i wonder if noelles crush on susie is at least partially inspired from a desire to be more like her? prior to chapter 2, it seems like noelle couldnt stand up for herself at all. she backed down when berdly talked over her about having a group of 3, and it was only when her friends were in danger that she found the courage to tell queen she didnt want to go along with her plans
susie acts so unbothered by everything, shes blunt and speaks her mind more often than not, people are afraid to stand up to her! shes tough and rude (as a result of people stereotyping her as a bully and not giving her a chance to show her softer side, or as a defense mechanism to avoid being vulnerable, or a combination of both) and appears not to care how people think of her, a stark contrast to noelles timidity and the pressure she likely has from her mother
noelle might even be drawn to susie bc she feels like susie could stand up for noelle better than noelle could stand up for herself! and we know susie was never mean to noelle bc of the way she smiled at her when noelle lent her a pencil, and i wonder if maybe susie wishes she could be more like noelle too?
noelle is top of her class, shes the mayors only remaining daughter, shes overall quite warm and friendly and likely has lots of friends! shes probably viewed quite favorably by everyone in town regardless of how well they actually know her
meanwhile susie is an outcast and viewed fairly negatively, nearly all the kids in school and alphys are scared of her, and she even feels like people actively dont want her around based on her telling kris everyone wants her expelled, and telling lancer "why would anyone really wanna be my friend anyway?"
its possible susie secretly wishes she was as liked and approachable as noelle. she wants to be included in things!! theres no doubt monster kids story about her "creepily" watching them play kickball was actually about her feeling left out :( susie is lonely and doesnt know how to ask to be included, and/or feels like she cant bc shes treated as a bully despite monster kid even saying theyve never actually seen her bully anyone
either way i think theyre drawn to the traits that they feel they dont have and see in the other. noelle thinks susie is cool and tough, notably not mean! susie thinks noelle is kind, probably nicer than anyone shes ever met but before the events of the game nobody gives susie the chance to be nice. her best attempt is simply not being mean to noelle, who showed her kindness first. during the game, susies given that chance when despite everything, ralsei has faith that she can be a good person. lancer looks up to her and she cant bring herself to be mean to him either, and she starts learning how to be nicer and shows it her own way
in conclusion: i think they are very cute together and could be good influences on each other with susie helping noelle be more assertive and not letting people talk over her, and noelle helping susie be more open and making friends in the light world too

this might be a Hot Take, but I don't think Cypher has a death wish or suicidal ideation, as used in a bunch of cypher angst fics.
I'd argue that he shown more of a desire to stay alive than a desire to die.
For one, he has two lines "I must survive to protect my family..." and when he survives a round on low HP, he says "Nora, I will see you again".
Furthermore, there's also the line "I will stop anyone who tries to come through. I must keep my secrets with me" and "My truths stay hidden for one day more" He can't really protect his secrets if he takes the chance to die....
In the reddit QnA, the devs said "Off-screen events have occurred that have spared those three [Omega Cypher, Jett, and Viper] their lives… this time". It implies that even with Sage and Skye and whatever "tricks up their sleeve" both Valorants have, the threat of death is very much still present.
In any case, I feel like Cypher has far more incentive to stay alive than to indulge in any desire to get himself killed, even for a glimpse of seeing "them". If anything, I feel like Cypher is more likely to abandon the mission and save himself instead of going for a sacrifice play. (which isn't to say he'd ditch at first sight of risk; his clutch voice line says he plays "high stakes". Rather that if the mission's looking impossible, I don't think he'd be the one to hold onto hope and try to go for a last second defuse or lucky kill. I think he'd try to cut his losses, a "live to fight another day" type of mentality)
More rambling under the cut
This is just unrelated, but also, Cypher just seems to enjoy living? If you listen to his voice lines, he clearly enjoys holding power/having the advantage over his enemies.
I guess the flippant way he treats the life-or-death battles can read as him not taking things seriously or holding his life in high regard. However, a lot of his lines seem to show an expectation of survival? Like "I wonder if they have any parts I can salvage. Hmm, implants? I need those!" He's already looking towards the rewards of victory; "Let's close up shop. I have things to do" Again he has goals to achieve and dying only hinders him. He also does show that he understands the gravity of situation and takes them seriously when he says "Spend like there is no tomorrow! Because there just might not be…" He's fighting to win, not to throw his life away for a mere whim.
Lastly, if we read his questioning of Sage's resurrection ability to imply that he wants to revive some people, then I think this just solidifies that Cypher doesn't have a death wish at all.
He loves living. He doesn't want to join the dead; he wants the dead to join him.
