Do Not Grow Up Cause It Is A Trap!

現在的我，正在享受第十天的學校假期。這也代表十五天後我又要重返那個充滿規範的校園，在一片苦悶中蜻蜓點水式地學習藝術。先別提那些令人沮喪的事吧！讓我告訴你在我完成第二個學期的藝術課，遠離天天見面的老師和同學之後，我腦袋裡生出了怎麼樣的念頭吧。

首先，也是我最重視的問題。就是 "藝術品對於香港當代社會有甚麼用處？" 由於大部分的香港人都是資本主義下的勞動階層（或者是'腦'動階層），也是消費主義下的奴隸。在工作上經常得不到人類應有的滿足感或尊重，他們十分樂意把辛苦賺來的微博薪水消費在超出實際所需數量的衣物或吃一頓令身體超出負荷的大餐上。從而安撫那份沒被滿足的空虛感。所以這些人們會否消費在藝術品上我是非常質疑的。因為藝術品不能像衣服一樣能穿起來炫耀，也不能用來填飽肚子。若然沒能擁有自己的畫廊，人們就只能把藝術品靜靜掛在客廳牆壁，待客人到訪時才能好好作一番介紹。但以香港寸金尺土得「劏房」盛行的情況下，誰的家還有空間招待客人哩。更枉論有否位置去安放一件藝術品了。

因此，我認為藝術品對於香港當代社會最大的作用就是推動經濟和維持社會地位。在這個世紀，藝術家們已經不再像文藝復興和巴洛克時期那般為宗教和中產階層服務了。反倒成為商業人士的傀儡，為他們創造更能增加市民消費意欲的作品和成為國際買賣的投資工具。而為了生存，我們也沒有像十九世紀末革命性畫家的勇氣。拒絕參加享負盛名的畫廊展覽而創作當時大眾認為違反道德觀念的作品；大膽質疑宗教力量而選擇透過畫筆讚美農民貢獻的壯舉。雖然來到二十一世紀，在文明都市中已經再沒有人會因為言論激烈而被處死。但同一時間，也代表人們變得更安靜和膽怯怕事。沒有人再願意為自己的觀點挺身而出、沒有人再願意為別人爭取公平和自由、再沒有人抱持清晰的立場和主見了。為了少製造一點麻煩，人們放棄自我建立價值觀的能力，而願意毫不過濾地接收從學校、新聞和廣告所發放的資訊。又或者放棄有影響力的發言和溝通的機會，以免要解釋更多自己未知的範疇而被公開批評。在這裡，人類已經畫地自限了。叫藝術如何在社會上再取得一席之地？不為消費主義服務的純藝術到底能有甚麼存在價值哩？

最後，讓我最困惑的是 "值得為藝術而製造更多的環境污染嗎？"。在剛過去的學期裡，我們開始學習雕塑。為了理解我們所選的物料特性，我們要大量購買、破壞和重組它。從而理出一套我們自己的視覺語言。而當學期完結後，這些物料也就同時失去它的功能了。或許在不久將來它會再被使用，但暫時性來說它們還是被浪費了。就像大多數的展覽結束後，由於沒有多餘空間存放作品，它們都有很大機會面臨被銷毀的情形。本來有用的物料因被製成短期用途的藝術品而最終被送進填田區，除了能加快填海和水位上升的速度之外我還未想到有其他用處。

由於藝術的存在價值已經變得如此模糊，它除了能令我們加速消費外還有沒有別的理由而值得被創造哩？我還在尋找答案，而且相信藝術能成就比起增加消費更有意義的事情。如果你們也在這方面有見解的話要告訴我哦。不論是認同或否認的，我都想多聽聽其他人的智慧。
