Karkat's planet would smell so fucking rank. I'm sorry but it's covered entirely in blood AND you're walking around through mist? How much of that is blood particles. I'm not generally grossed out by blood but I have smelled a room with a ton of blood drying in it and it was a fucking challenging experience, sensorily.

Jokes aside, Hivebent has a totally different feel compared to Homestuck. Homestuck was
"4 kids are chilling out and playing a game :) but something's gonna happen..."
Hivebent is

And judging by how sudden the mood shift happened (and how compelling the trolls seem to be), it's no wonder so many fell into this trance over it.
