Time to start a new drama! I know nothing about this one except my beloved Liu Xueyi is in it and looks excellent. I have definitely watched drama for lesser reasons so let's go.

God, okay, here we go. I'm so anxious. I remember how Heroes ended and how much it broke me

Well, we're off to a good start. Li Lianhua is practicing his martial arts and imagining Di Feisheng is there with him. I'm definitely not crying less than 5 minutes in
It's okay though because Fang Duobing is there to take care of him and make sure he keeps warm 😭
Okay, I suspected he rigged the mechanisms to be easily seen and destroyed because Fang Duobing mentioned it but I didn't realise the whole thing was him trying to take down Jiao Liqiao from the inside. I feel bad(ish) for him now
Oh shit! Well, it wouldn't be Mysterious Lotus Casebook without one final (I hope) dramatic poisoning

I have to laugh because the alternative is crying even more. But I love all these randos know that Di Feisheng is in love with Li Lianhua and they're acting like him not showing up at the beach is like jilting him at the altar (even though they're already married)
His stoic but clearly sad face 😭

Very much enjoying Fang Duobing and Di Feisheng working together to protect Li Lianhua. I hope we get more of that.

This really is the worst kept secret in the jianghu. I think Fango Duobing is the only one who doesn't know at this point
Oh my god is the wine made of people?
I was going to make a joke that Li Lianhua plays up being pathetic when he's got two big strong men there to protect him. But actually it's probably not far from the truth. How many times do you think he's had to stay awake, or at least on guard, for fear that someone might figure out his identity and come looking for him. Now he's with two people one of whom knows his identity and one who has sworn to protect him no matter what. It's actually safe for him to relax and get some sleep so he's going to do just that.
Oh my god. Fang Duobing offered Di Feisheng some bread and Di Feisheng took it! I'm crying.
AND THEN DI FEISHENG SHARED HIS WATER WITH FANG DUOBING. Are they in love now? Is that's what's happening here? MY HEART.

Our house is getting inspected tomorrow (the joys of renting) so this is my reward for mopping the floors on a stupidly hot day considering it's nearly the middle of September.

Okay, I really shouldn't be doing this, but I keep seeing gifs and how am I supposed to resist two of my DMBJ boys in the same drama. Especially when one of them is Cheng Yi who I love.
Also, I promised @xantissa I would check it out and report back.
I'm only going to be watching this in slow time because I really want to finish The King's Avatar, but on a weekend when I have a bit more free time I can squeeze in an ep here or there. So there won't be regular updates for this one.
Also, I don't have a VIP iqiyi account so I can't watch it too fast anyway :D
I think I read that people involved Blood of Youth and Love and Redemption were involved in this? Or it has similar vibes to them? Either way I loved both of those dramas so I am hopeful for this one

I know nothing about this situation is normal but imagine performing an autopsy on a body that's wearing your face
She fell off a roof so I'd love to know how her organs are still all intact

I love that they keep playing sinister music whenever he's on screen now. Like we've seen the opening credits multiple times now we know he's not a murderer. Whoever described this as a gothic romance is 100% correct though.
I love that she's acting like he's going to stab her with a hairpin in the middle of a store full of people

I didn't watch one yesterday as I was visiting friends so it feels like forever since I watched this

Well this has blown my 'he's going to give Li Lianhua the elixir so he has a worthy opponent' theory that I had a couple of episodes ago. Come on dude you can't kill him now he's all weak and pathetic. You were literally just complaining how sad you were about having no one worth fighting left in the world

Why does this feel like Li Lianhua has just reunited with his ex-boyfriend who is still bitter about their breakup 10 years later
I still haven't decided whether I think he's dying in the way that Su Mengzhen was dying or if he's dying in a 'it'll be okay they'll find a cure' kind of way. Heroes kind of made it clear from the first episode how it was going to end. This one is less clear. I don't think I want to know so no spoilers please but I may change my mind on this later
