Nother HC/AU ramble about these two under the cut
Since these two basically have nothing about them it leaves me all the room I want to ramble about what I think their relationship would be✨
As I said in my original HC post, these two start off as rivals, Insomniac re challenging Samurai to a fight when he lost his winning streak to the new guy (Samurai) n got salty. Being they fought half drunk in a night club, things eventually got out of hand and a sword stab to a generator later both got electrocuted, messing up their heart beats. This put them as the perfect candidates for the new rhythm doctor program and what put them in the first chapter.
Samurai was fine when the program was used on him, but Insomniac’s much more effected heart beat (this is what you get for wearing no armor) ended up causing the development of the virus. It’s hard to explain but basically the rhythm doctor program’s ticking of the beats going down the line was Ai doing so and the Insomniac’s heart beat corrupted it into only following the extreme- creating the virus that separated itself from the original program. It’s not really malicious! It’s just trying to get people to follow the beats it was taught.. being really fucked up and possibly deadly beats but beats nonetheless.
Anyways, after Insomniac and Samurai got taken care of, Samurai continued having mild relapses each day, steady and predictable. Insomniac instead ended up stuck with extreme episodes that would appear in sudden bursts, first of these showing up in X-1N where future ones will likely only get worse as the virus Ai conforms more to being insane as he has episodes. A cycle of oh no.
In the meantime they have their own time to hang out n meet the other patients. Samurai being in the west for the first time has him curious about everything and everyone, just wanting to be a part of whatever was happening. Insomniac chose to be distant from the others to continue focusing his time on training but still had to get Samurai sometimes if he wanted to spar with someone. He always had some group with him, usually Logan and Hailey, on weekends it be Cole and Nicole. Insomniac doesn’t mind Cole n Nicole, they don’t bother him much and if they did have a question they weren’t dumb. The kids on the other hand he was probably exploding in his mind if they interrupted to ask if they could touch the sword.
Samurai and Insomniac also share a room for the sake of space and sparing. The only language they both know is English but it’s both their second language so most conversations are simple and dependent on their tone. Insomniac always talks about training or honor but Samurai is much more interested in talking about the new things he’s learned or discovered. Insomniac has been in the west for a few years now so can’t help but find it a bit childish and his demeaning view of Samurai isn’t helped when he finds out he’s not a fighter for his family or honor but just. Likes to sword fight. (insert “stop having fun” img here)
After X-1N, Insomniac was pretty shaken up to say the least. Without anyone else to open up he decided to be vulnerable and talked a bit about life to Samurai. Insomniac wondering what Samurai’s personal propose was if wasn’t fighting for anything. Samurai simply corrected Insomniac, he was fighting for something, his own fun and joy of experiencing life. Sword fighting just being one of his favorite deep outlets of this. Despite it being a bit corny and being said as Samurai was failing but continuing some crochet he wanted to learn, it did strike a bit of a cord with Insomniac.
Slowly Insomniac opened up to the others, placating the curiosity of the kids a bit, going to the cafe n trying the tea there while also teaching Nicole how to make some specialty ones he can make, and eventually when Samurai was talking about learning baseball, Insomniac took initiative and asked to join him. Samurai n Insomniac were finally able to come to a understanding with how the other thoughts and worked.

For not the first time since he'd moved back into the house, Peter briefly wondered just how he'd gotten away with coming and going as Spider-Man without being caught by his neighbors. Of course, at the moment, it was a bit more of a hazy impression of a thought as he clumsily mostly-fell through his bedroom window. It being the dead of night probably helped. Oooh. Bad choice of words, he thought to himself- unable to turn off the jokes even with the rather large gash in his side. Or maybe that was because of the rather large gash in his side. Either way, said gash really needed something done about it which meant getting up from where he'd fallen onto his bed and into the bathroom where he kept all of his first-aid supplies.
He'd webbed the wound up, of course- wouldn't do to be bleeding all over the city as he swung home. So maybe... maybe it could wait just a few moments? Surely? He felt a bit dizzy and his heart was racing but closing his eyes for just a bit seemed like the best idea possible at the moment. Yeah- yeah that's what he would do... Unconsciousness seemed like an amazing thing right now.

Own Rhythm doctor AU, Military Doctor is here
Military Doctor has the setting that the original Rhythm Doctor's hospital was created for wounded soldiers
Edega, Ian, and Ada also has a few traumas(I will explain later)
In Military Doctor, the characters are divided into organizations. There are five organizations in total that I would like to introduce.(See the first picture, plz)
Samurai and Insom are belongs to S.A.R.S,
Lucky belongs to SCALES...etc
We can't forget about Cole and Nicole, can we?
In this AU, they're an intelligence officer and a bodyguard, respectively. They do different things, and they met through business.
Cole is a pretty weak character, but that's not to say he doesn't carry a gun.

He doesn't get along with anyone, including Lucky.

when I say SD!Mysterio & Insom!Mysterio have similar design aspects to their costumes I am NOT Lying:
10/10 design. I like it. It's really subdued and not as flashy and gaudy and flamboyant as other Mysterio costume designs, but it's still good! I really dig the skull & claws..
the fact it's kinda subdued also fits his character within the game, too. and not just in a more "realistic" costume design sense compared to the others either.

Welcome back to SirWow rambles about Rhythm doctor thoughts, this time more just spitballing a ton of thoughts. Per usual cut to not flood TL
First off Samurai and Insom in the baseball arc; Samurai is generally someone who has hitting stuff come natural to him. Insom is still suffering from insecurity and jealousy deep down towards Samurai. As such he’s trying to do better then him and despite being a better 2nd pitcher with Nicole, Insom keeps pushing Lucky to be a main hitter. Lucky however felt Insom going down the same path of fame chasing he went down so took him aside while Samurai was hitting. Insom chilled out and let go of his pride to celebrate Samurai’s winning shot. Lucky and Insom also getting a strange but silent understanding of each other.
Lucky and Miner I see becoming surprisingly good friends with a lot in common (just bros, sorry minerscales fans!) Lucky is a brick wall and generally won’t shove on his ideals but Miner is very open to change even if he’s a bit too trusting sometimes. I need to write more about them but a silly thought I had with them was them being the ones to help set up the talent show Iv been writing. Miner constantly trying to make Lucky laugh with silly party things and the thing to get him being a inflatable anvil taking 3 slow seconds to fall on him.
Logan and Hailey.,.. Logan finally admitting his love for Hailey over playing (Nicole’s) guitar behind their school late into the evening. Lucky and Nicole teamed up, giving Logan monotone but genuine support to go for it.
Now then.. I think Iv finally settled on my ages and other stuff for everyone so long list time

Happy Birthday Kenneth Campbell "Ken" Stott, born on October 19th 1954 in Edinburgh.
One of my favourite actors, as hard-drinking Detective hero of Ian Rankin's popular book he was Inspector John Rebus to me. Ken's Father was Scottish and a teacher, his mum a Sicilian, he went to the famous George Herriots school before going onto to Mountview Theatre School, where the distinguished actor Sir John Mills was president. Fellow Scot Douglas Henshall was also a student of the school. Before leaving Edinburgh Stott had been in a band called Keyhole some of the members of the group would later join the Bay City Rollers.
Ken went on to work with the Royal Shakespeare Company but the pay was poor and he subsidised his earnings by selling double glazing. His first TV role was in Secret Army for the BBC, parts in TV shows throughout his career have included, Taggart (of course) The Singing Detective, London's Burning, Your Cheatin' Heart and Silent Witness. He was insome good films too, The Debt Collector (with Billy Connolly) , Shallow Grave, (with Ewen MacGregor) and Plunkett & Macleane (with Robert Carlyle).
My favourite shows of Ken's have been the brilliant BBC Scotland series, Takin' Over the Asylum in which starred as Double Glazing salesman, but aspiring disc jockey
with David Tennant and Angus Macfadyen,The ITV series The Vice was also a cracking series where he played DI Pat Chappel and The BBC show Messiah, where again he played a cop, DCI Red Metcalfe where he learned sign language for scenes with his screen wife,and Rebus of course, when the show was resurrected in 2006, Stott was a first choice for many as D.I John Rebus, John Hannah had the role in the first incarnation, mainly due to it being made by his own production company.
On film Ken is probably best known for his role as the Dwarf, Balin in The Hobbit trilogy. He is a popular choice for voice work, as narrator for series such as Trawlermen, a documentary following North Sea trawlers, and Send in the Dogs, following the work of Police Officers and their canine partners.
One of my favourite stories about Ken Stott echoes the no nonsense approach of Rebus, on stage during Arthur Miller's A View From The Bridge, he halted the play when a group of teenage schoolkids were misbehaving and disturbing the show, switching from his stage American to his native Scots accent he told the teacher responsible for the children to remove them, or the play would not go on.
The house lights were switched on and there was then a 15-minute stand-off as discussions took place with the offending youngsters.
The audience took the side of Stott and even resorted to chanting 'out, out, out' in extraordinary scenes. Eventually the three culprits and an embarrassed teacher was forced to creep away before the play resumed at the Duke of York's Theatre.
Recently Ken was in the TV series Devils playing professor Wade in the show. Look out for The Dig, a decent Netflix film about an archaeologist dig in England in 1938 also starring Ralph Fiennes.
Ken reprised his role as Chief Superintendent Bob Toal in the second series of Irvine Welsh's Edinburgh set cop show Crime.
Nominated for many awards, he was lifted two Scottish Baftas and a Laurence Olivier Award.

im a little lost on what exactly is harmful about drawing japan in hatsune miku get up? he's canonically an otaku and would like that kind of stuff. it's a silly show and not everyone likes historical stuff
the wording on that post was kinda more in a joking manner, my point was in the tags. there’s nothing wrong persay with the hatsune miku getup in particular, I was just using it as a joking example of the kind of behaviour I don’t really like seeing.
To say hetalia is just a silly show is…not a take I agree with. The very concept of personified nations is nationalistic at best, straight up propaganda at worst. If use them in human or non-nation AUs, that’s a whole separate thing, and not what I’m talking about here. Additionally, POC fans who use the characters/nation OCs to represent their own heritage and history is also not what I’m talking about. What I am saying is to attach certain personalities and headcanons to characters who represent nations can lead to dangerous perceptions
For HWS Japan in particular, the soft boy-ification of him insome fan content is not great in two areas:
1) even outside of the nation context, there is a history in the West of the infantilization and emasculation of Asian men. Which, you know, is racist. I often see Kiku get infantilized a lot in ships with the white men of the show (AMERIPAN, but I have seen it with us too Asakiku fans so please stay alert with the content you make)
2) completely erases what Imperial Japan did
That last part actually isn’t entirely the fault of the viewer, if they are simply taking hetalia at face value (pleaseeee don’t). Because Himaruya himself, at least when he began Hetalia, was a Japanese nationalist. And one of the goals of Japanese nationalists is to cover up all the atrocities of the Japanese empire, often utilizing soft power.
Japan’s soft power image, a lot of the cultural exports like anime “otaku” type beat, was very much originally engineered to change the world’s image of the country. So it’s important to recognize that in Hima’s characterization choice to make Kiku into that.
Himaruya has had a history of nationalist and anti-Korean sentiments. Just look up how the South Korean government banned Hetalia for the depiction of their country in it. Look up MOEKAN, which was an early comic by Himaruya which features a Korean protag whose entire point is to show that Koreans are unjustified and should just get over what Imperial Japan did to them.
Hetalia is not just a silly show when Himaruya’s characterizations are directly impacted by his own political ideas. Without deconstructing the way he wrote HWS Japan is to replicate some of those nationalistic choices that he made.
TLDR: The concept of hetalia is so steeped in history and nationalistic biases that even if you “don’t like historical content” you can’t ignore it. Ignoring it when writing personified nations can lead to dangerous perceptions about history (which you know effects real people, especially the people who have directly been victimized by the actions of a lot of these countries), especially when solely relying on Himaruya’s characterizations, because he VERY much writes the characters with his own biases in mind.
