Release: August 6, 1990
Lyrics:
Calling up the promised land
Johnny Seven's coming over the sea
He's taking your time
When you want to be free
Holding out a helping hand
Are you ready for a real career
Will you be so cool
When it's happening here
It don't say nothing that I haven't heard
If what I hear is true
You won't keep the law with a broken word
So what are you gonna do
Heart like a wheel
Turning away
From anything that's real
Heart like a wheel
Changing in time
Beating colder steel
Pass the message around the world
The medium is in retreat
The power is here
And packing some heat
Sell your soul to a holy war
Set the captive free
We make no promises anymore
But it isn't fooling me
Heart like a wheel
Turning away
From anything that's real
Heart like a wheel
Changing in time
Beating colder steel
Ohhhh
You can't keep the wheels turning anymore
With anger, blood, and fear
Or make any friends with an M16
When you blast your way through her
Heart like a wheel
Turning away
From anything that's real
Heart like a wheel
Changing in time
Beating colder steel
Heart like a wheel
Turning away
From anything that's real
Heart like a wheel
Changing in time
Beating colder steel
Songwriter:
Heart like a wheel
Turning away
From anything that's real
Heart like a wheel
Driving the world
Is gonna be a steal.
Jo Callis / Eugene Reynolds

I'm feeling slightly under the weather and obviously that means rereading my own fics
One time I wrote a fic about an unnamed offscreen character wherein the research notes were like a solid half of the word count, and I LOVE IT

Some say a heart is just like a wheel
When you bend it, you can't mend it
And my love for you is like a sinking ship
And my heart is on that ship out in mid-ocean
They say that death is a tragedy
It comes once, and it's over
But my only wish is for that deep dark abyss
For what's the use of living with no true lover
When harm is done, no love can be won
I know it happens frequently
What I can't understand, oh please god hold my hand
Is why it should have happened to me
And it's only love and it's only love
That can wreck a human being and turn him inside out
That can wreck a human being and turn him inside out
Some say a heart is just like a wheel
When you bend it, you can't mend it
And my love for you is like a sinking ship
And my heart is on that ship out in mid-ocean
And it's only love and it's only love
And it's only love and it's only love
And it's only love and it's only love
And it's only love and it's only love

1975
🧃Good album, very much Eva Cassidy vibes, what my father would complain about as ‘wailing women’, what I love to sing at karaoke. I do like it. Good album!
👻 You’re not good sounds familiar, sounds like a famous song, that’s good. All the songs sound somewhat similar. Linda has a good voice. Good album, not bad. Seems to be a good political person also, gay rights, environmental, something about immigration laws. Called George Bush an idiot. Nice

You still taking fic asks?
For the Want Your Midnights series, how would have Willie trapped the PeterPatterLina trio in a closet? -something I still secretly wished happened, because I thrive off fictional drama.
Also which fic has been your favorite to write?
i definitely am still taking asks!
OMG bahahahahahahahaha truly a fantastic question. I imagine that some as-yet-unforeseen ghost magic would be involved (and we already know Willie can do things like set off car alarms, etc, so why not closet-trapping LMAO) BUT also it could be something as simple as trapping *julie* in the closet and telling luke & reggie to rescue her/sit with her while they figure out how to get her out, aka a little bit of trickery, which we also know willie is good at. obviously flynn would be involved with planning and/or getting julie into position. alex would probably facepalm a lot but he'd be fed up with the ot3 so he'd definitely help.
as for favorite to write...a difficult question!! i have trouble picking favorite anythings but here we go.
i am still absolutely bowled over that i even wrote for love's sake only in the first place, AND that people love it, so there's that. The initial story is 47k words! i wrote a BOOK. and it's not a bad one! hahaha. also i love historical romance so it's kind of a love letter to that genre.
and then there's leave the light on, which is like 10k words of emotional devastation. i love exploring past canon and exploring more adult themes, and also finding love again when you thought your heart was done.
want your midnights will always have a special place in my heart because it was my very first jatp fic (and actually my first published fic in about a decade.) and it just went from there!
finally, heart like a wheel my secret and forever beloved. exploring womanhood & motherhood through the lens of a character we don't even see onscreen: will read and write every time, hahaha. i would love to find the inspiration to finish emily patterson & sarah mercer's versions of this. we'll see!
