“Are you-” Buck turns away from Natalia and kind of hunches over the phone, making his voice quieter. “Are you having a penis problem?”
“What?” Buck’s never heard Eddie that high pitched. Loud, too, enough that Buck yanks the phone away from his ear and Natalia snorts with barely contained laughter behind him. When he brings the phone back in, Eddie is making a lot of blustery sounds, which Buck waits out until he finds words again. “Wh- No! No, I don’t have- I’m not having a ‘penis problem,’ Buck!”
Buck shrugs at the air in front of him. “Okay, Eddie, you’re the one who’s hiding in a bathroom and said you needed my ‘guy help,’ what was th-”

the fact that when rei asked “do you think we can change?” and kazuki gave a very cheerful “I dunno!” is because rei was in his feelings about everything with his family so he was obviously asking if it’s possible for them to change the things they do and their way of life because he’s more afraid then ever of ending up like his father, but kazuki’s answer wasn’t as tone deaf as it seems because he had no idea rei was given the birthday gift from hell via his father, and instead kazuki probably thought they were still talking about their dynamic! of course he doesn’t know if the two of them can change the way they act or how they care for each other, because it’s been this way for so long and it’s working!
