DRAGON FIVE: Seol Hyeon Dae
More FD Bench, now with reserve DF Hyeon-Dae. Unfortunatey the one I have the less of, but I still like him anyway </3
Tumblr media
He has three younger siblings who are eager for cinema as him, and they beg for in an appearance in his future movie. Hyeon-dae always keeps his promises, though he can't guarantee how good will their appareances be. (They are in dire need ofimproving some acting skills...)
At least they are good supporters of his soccer plays, so he appreciates that.
...He's actually the nicest guy of the whole group. He has no resentments, no self-pressure, no pettiness, no actual anger... He's just a guy with huge ambitions and that's it, as "vanilla" as that might sound. But that doesn't make him an outsider from the other benchers; in fact he does help keeping the group around most of the time.
Ji-Nan grew a liking for him because of that, and they like to hang out around the town when practice is over. Chung-yoon also likes to join in at times, liking to talk with Hyeon-dae (And to keep an eye over the keeper).
Sung-Joon is slightly harder to interact with to due to how much of a show-off he is, but HD did just fine by convincing him to appear in one of his movies; his future award being a "new step for Korean media" (At least that's his choice of words). Both a blessing and a curse, now SJ won't stop talking about that whenever he's with Hyeon-Dae, and how great of an actor he will be...
And while HD does know a lot about korean movies, he isn't very interested on K-Dramas. SJ is the one to talk with him about that.
...Meanwhile with Jung-Won he talked just a bit, but they seem to be in good terms. JW offers a lot of interesting technical information about cameras, surprisingly, so maybe a collaboration could happen in the future.
I guess he could be the "leader" of the benchers? Sung-Joon tends to claim that title himself given he's older, but all the rest believes Hyeon-Dae fits the role better. Even if he doesn't always know what to do most of the time (?
Final thing for now, but midway the asian eliminatories, he had quite the curious encounter in a japanese camera shop: With Adel Siddique, a bencher of the Qatari team with the same exact dream as his (Read their profiles pls). After having a nice conversation about filming equipment the two decided to keep in contact -be it phone numbers or the few social media of the era-. They are still on good terms in the future, but the truth is that they are now focused on their individual careers. Does this mean that they could end up competing for an award? Most likely. I won't say who gets to win the Oscar tho (?
A random tidbit that I want to add here to end is that, for some reason, Hyeon-Dae's 3D sprite made his pupils look like literal minuses ➖➖, similar to those of a goat. The anime went with an approach closer to his actual sprite; pupils still "blocky" but more normal-looking.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Source for the pic)
Honestly the latter medium made him look so much better overall. That bowlcut can't be fixed tho, I'll say that (? 😭🙏

OC Files: White Bull; or EL TORO BLANCO
It is March already; almost a year since this blog started. Figured it was time to finally go to the point and do things I've been holding on for a long time already. Here goes nothing, I guess...
...
When Red Matador (Or locally, Matador Rojo*) was formed, it was obvious that there'd be some controversy. Not everybody was fond of bullfighting being the face of a youth soccer team, and one that even represented Spain aganist the world. Complains both online, written and on TV were made, but nothing seemed enough to do any change. The team still would proceed like normal, and so did the resigned country during the Euroleague. However -and with the start of the FFI-, let's just say somebody decided to protest this... In a very different way.
Tumblr media
Meet the White Bull, or in its original language, El Toro Blanco. A mysterious figure that started to appear itself to the Red Matador players. It's style is quite interesting, with clothes that resemble a mix of the "traje de luz" (Matador uniform) yet with some curious modifications, to the point it resembled something entirely different. However, the most notorious part of its design is the huge bull mask it wears, covering completely its face and hair.
Don't let such elegant attire and mysterious looks fool you, this dancer is actually also quite good at soccer. And nothing has proved it better than its first encounters with RM, in which he completely swept the floor with the captain and his two buddies. And the moment information about him leaked to the public; feel free to guess how the media reacted to this. Needless to say, nor Querardo, nor the coach, nor -almost everyone- at the spanish team are really fond of him. To make things even worse, Toro Blanco seems to be clear set with their objective: To prove the world how weak a matador truly is.
...Things didn't seem to look so bright for this team with that dancer around, at least on the Qualifications time. However, as the FFI progressed and Spain got stronger, soon they started to find few ways to counter Toro Blanco (I'd like to say with the use of Matador Feint, but... No, that causes them to react in a different way). Other point was to discover his many weaknesses, such as its limited vision field in distance (Proved by their horrible shots), or his dislike of bright lights. With the power gap between RM and TB decreasing eventually, at least their relationship did grow for the better. Toro was seen less of a nuisance, but more instead of as a rival to grow alongside.
But no matter if its in Madrid or Liocott, one thing is still unanswered.
Who is under the mask?
Tumblr media
----
(*That's regarding the original name. On the dub universe the actual team would be "Matadores Rojos", which leads to the shortened version "Los Rojos" that everyone uses instead.)

I think something that changed me is finding out french and spanish people don't seem to get on well. Like, digging around on spanish Xitter does bring you to some jokes/memes aganist the French and all. Example:
Tumblr media
Not sure if this is reciprocated from the frenchies, but it already was HUGE for me.
...Though to my surprise turns out it wasn't something because of history (I mean... Napoleon) or similar, but because... Streamer rivalries? Not sure. Other than that, this doesn't seem to be that strong, not even on soccer. Though ngl... I'd love to see FFI Spain and France have something going on >:D
I think that for the most part, it's a healthy rivarly. Most of the players of either team don't hate the opposite party, though it is true there is some resentment coming from RM towards RG due to previous experiences with them in the former Euro League (1 tie and 1 french win).
The tension is most promiment on the captains overall. They like to keep it fair and square in the match; two opposite defenders who are willing to prove one another who's the best leading their team. But at the same time, well... Let's just say that Pierre has had some weird fascination with the lion for a long time, even before their current teams were formed. Whatever is the reason why, it always ends with Pierre taking any chance to tease and provoke him. Even if he doesn't hold any ill will aganist Que, with his typical self-centered atitude he can become a nuisance quite fast. At least Que has his goals always set: To kick that stuck up french's ass at ANY chance.
Of course, the relationship between captains isn't all that bad. When France and Spain were both mutually eliminated, Pierre and Querardo were able to put their tensions aside and support each other in a moment that had left the two distressed (Plus Jonas could be a nice mediator. Emphasis on could). I think their relationship improved quite a bit thanks to that. Who knows, maybe they left Liocott as friends :)

KOQ HCs: Gareth Barrett #2
Gareth and Friends:
Like I said, because of the low image he had of himself and his struggles at socializing, Gareth spent a huge chunk of his life lonely. But at least things didn't had to be so grim for him.
For example, as a child he soon befriended Clover Fortune, daughter of the family the Barretts served. She was slightly older than him, just by 2-3 years, but that didn't stop on them being very attached to each other. Having a superior similar on age meant an easy way of learning butler skills; but even if Gareth tried very hard to serve Clover she didn't like seeing their relationship as master-servant. In fact, despite not being related by blood nor documents, she considers him deeply as a younger brother.
Aside from the main mansion, Gareth would also have some opportunities to meet new faces; such as in one of the many parties done by the Fortune's and their contacts. Being given the very simple task of serving little pastries to the invitees, that night he stumbled upon a girl who would become his best friend, Sienna Hayley. Being of similar circumstances, the two bonded quickly as both desired to make friends. Since she was a fan of baking, the two soon developed the silly passtime of having tea parties together, even at local school of Oldfolk. The procedure was simple, Gareth would serve the food Sienna would make, giving his friend time to eat by herself. However in many occasions she also offered him to join in too, not wanting to see him just standing there "like a pillar". A bit unusual for a butler, but it at least made his friend happy. Plus, Sienna's muffins are the best!
However, not everyone seemed on par with this idea, as one day both friends were sorrounded by some other Oldfolk students who had no good intentions at all. While Gareth was ready to try and defend Sienna, soon the rascals were scared away by a mysterious jockey that appeared out of nowhere. His name was Dale, and while he didn't care much about the two nor their parties at first, he couldn't stand seeing injustice nearby. With the surprising offer from Sienna to join them in, soon Gareth made yet another friend.
But like shown before, Oldfolk school did not always bring him friends. Although Gareth wasn't a person to make enemies, his cold exterior would give others the wrong first impression. And plus, the closest thing to a rivarly he would had was with the child of the Rotten, Lance. Though it was mostly because the helmet boy often tended to act quite snarky to others, boasting about his ties to royalty, but also specially towards Gareth due to their shared knight naming motif. IN FACT, knowing the tragic fate of the knight Gareth at the hands of Lancelot, this often gave him a sense of superiority, constantly joking about it to the keeper. However, for better or worse, Lance is one of the few people Gareth's not afraid of standing up to.
Despite everything at least, their rivarly never went too far. Specially with both boys knowing a stuff like a fight could damage intensely both the reputation of the Rotten, the Fortunes, and the Barrett all at the same time. Besides, they found a better way to express their rivarly without much harm: Soccer. I'll talk about Gareth's entrance to this sport separately, but let's say that both players are always striving to be better than the other, and often tend to have 1v1s.
However, there's a strange factor that also tones down their shared tensions, and that is... Clover herself. Whenever she's nearby or when she spectates any of OF's soccer matches, Lance's bickering atitude towards Gareth is reduced exponentially. The butler assumes is because she's older and thus more intimidating, but there's times where he notices Lance often staring at her way too much. Just in case, he's keeping an eye on him.

OC Files: Estela Aguilar 🦅
More RedoMata girls ~~~
(Using yet another Picrew as a main reference, original here - Created by @ ri_osa_mu on Twitter)
Tumblr media
She is the daughter of a bullring president over at Seville; the same one Querardo's father has performed for a huge chunk of his life. Like an eagle in the sky, the president's duty is to look from above at the whole spectacle in the ring, and be able to determine the fate of both the bullfighter (By choosing whose awards to give them) and the bull itself (By choosing to spare its life -'Indulto'- or not). Like little Que admired his father since childhood, young Es has often daydreamt to take over her father's position when older. However unlike Naval she never developed any second thoughts, in fact her goal is still clearer than ever.
Estela and Querardo, although separated, did have some interactions in previous trips from Navarre to Seville. Their relationship had always been in decent terms, although both León and Es' father have joked many times about their children marrying as adults. Hell, in many occasions it had been remarked to Querardo over and over again how much of a "perfect bride" Estela could be for him. I mean, she has a fine appearance, she's clever, has good reflexes, and overall supportive of future matador Que. Add to this some slight feelings he actually had for her on the past, and you got a perfect couple. Or so it seems.
Although Querardo admits Estela is pretty, truth is he has been losing interest on her for a long time. In fact, his ever growing conflicting feelings for bullfighting as a whole also have affected his view on her for the worse. Estela is aware of this, but she isn't willing to accept it. Within Querardo, she sees a great matador inside, a man that could even surpass the legacy that other famous figures left behind. For him to leave it all, just because he can't bring himself to finish the bull... How dare he!?
...I'll actually confess that while I do like what I wrote with Estela, I actually have NO idea if she'd be part of the line of events I've written with Red Matador's story. I have a lot of mixed feelings about adding her to the plot, and even more with the ideals she represents 🫤 Nonetheless, I'll confess that I like her as a little drama machine. That's why I wanted to briefly talk about her despite her irrelevance </3
An idea that I had for her though was that she could be a manager for RM; being sent to Liocott due to her superb observation skills. But I'm not sold yet. Then again, Episode 102 made us clear that the spanish most likely don't have any managers around... Sad 😭
Bonus, more art. Reusing a discarded WIP since I cannot draw much. Her eye shapes are heavily based on the picrew image above; I just really like how they look on her. Though there's still things I'm not determined on her design, such as her hair color (either red or almost fuchsia) and texture.
Tumblr media
Fun fact, but her flower is loosely based on the Carnation, one of Spain's national symbols.

No offense, but there's no way L5 put two players in DL with the same exact surname (Ismail), yet did nothing with the concept or let it be treated as a "coincidence"... 😭
Majidi and Rajab are brothers to me idgaf
---
(And yes, one could argue that their designs aren't that similar, specially on the eye shape, but... Believe it or not, the anime coincidentally did make Majidi's eye design be closer to Rajab's....)

Last Minute Bonus: They do appear together on the bonus DVD BOX poster!!!!! I don't think that's their actual height difference, buuuuut 🥺

KOQ HCs: Gary + Philip post-FFI
While I've written in a previous post about Gareth's future and what could lead up to it, truth is that I've also written other futures for some other KOQ members besides the GKs and Lance. Some went fairly normal, others changed in some way, and some even went in an entirely different direction than the kid you'd see back at the FFI. Today I'd like to focus on two of my favorite outcomes, the culinary oriented Gary and Philip.
Both never changed on their ambitions, Links kept making scones, and Philip kept trying to improve his recipes. However, both did the interesting big step on trying to make their skills more known... All by entering those cooking contest shows.
You know The Great British Bake-Off? Well, Gary ended up joining a show similar to that. He pretty much ended sweeping everyone at the competition, with an obvious (and deserved) win at the overall program. He took well advantage of the prize money, and used it wisely on his own start-up, pretty much a bakery shop. For now its one of those "online shopping + takeaway" types of business, but he has already adquited a physical location with the winning prize too; so... Who knows. Expect a specialized bakery there someday.
As for Philip, I can see him joining a cooking show more specialized on anything than just bakery. Maybe British Masterchef (?). The road to the finals wasn't easy for him -nor to any other contestant-, but at least luck was on his side, it seemed. Overall him joining was a well received choice, since not only the former soccer player was an already good chef, but he was also a pretty respectful participant. He liked to cheer on his supposed "rivals", and if he even had some spare time, he'd help anyone struggling (Even if the judges were not always fond of it). His overwall sweetness (and looks) made him gain some fame on social media, with the show's fandom starting to root on him more and more loudly as the program went on.
However, for everyone and for himself, things took a sour turn at the final competition, where he was eliminated right at the last second. It is to say that Philip took it well, had no ill will towards the actual winner of the show, and wished them well. The ones who were NOT happy with this were his fans. And trust me... It all became a shitshow. Pretty much every single social media of the channel and the program became flooded with the hashtag "#PHILIPWASROBBED" to such an extent it became national news. It also didn't help that his former KOQ teammates (Edgar, Gareth, even Gary too, etc) ALSO joined to support Phil, which caused even more uproar.
The directives of the channel were set, the winner had been decided and no changes would be done, at least till a supposed next season. However, knowing the huge impact the movement gained and all those potential wallets they could get income from, they decided to instead do something even bigger with Owen: Give him his own cooking show!?
In the end, everyone won. The channel got the income/ratings they wanted, the fans were happy to see Philip again on TV, and even the chef himself was eager to share his recipes to the people of Britain -And even worldwide-. He also got to participate in other cooking shows -as to cash in some more-, the most known being "Bad Chef, Good Chef". Picture Hell's Kitchen with Gordon Ramsay and its IE equivalent, but with Philip also being there and giving some constructive tips for the participants. Whose chef they choose to listen to, it's all their own choice (?

KOQ HCs: Gareth Barrett #1
Background info on Gareth. My emo butler boy (? <3
(Experimenting with a different type of format than the typical bullet list I tend to use here. Mentions few OCs.)
The Barretts carry a very interesting legacy when it comes to their servitude. In the past, it was even rumored they helped to serve the royals themselves. In actual times however, the family has decided to step down a bit, although still within the world of the privileged.
Currently, they reside on the simple village of Oldfolk, located within the english plains. Despite its lack of fame, it is still the residing place for many wealthy families at their mansions; including the Fortune. The current family the Barrett serve.
Gareth's father, Gawain, is the main butler of the house, helping to lead the other servants and organize events. He's aware that the role of a butler is losing more and more importance in the modern world, but he still tries to hold on the history his family carries. At least he can rely on his wife Liz to help him out.
Though she also has her fair share of controversies, being originally the maid of the Rotten, a nearby household. Their first meeting is attributed to a party both families attended a long while ago, plus some random encounters they had on Oldfolk down below. With time, the attraction they had became way too apparent to hide, and it led to a discussion over what would be their future together. After talking about it, Liz decided to move and live with her lover's family; a choice that was accepted by the Rotten although with some tension. Nonetheless, things went quite good enough, and later on the maid was also given a little temporal residence on Oldfolk as to take care of their newborn.
...Gareth, Gawain... Yeah, the motif is a bit notorious. Gawain himself claims his birth name was simply a regular choice with nothing behind it, but it did inspire Liz when thinking about baby boy names. Gareth himself doesn't mind nor care about being named after a round table knight; though things could later get tense as he had to convive at school with another boy also with a similar motif.
The little butler's childhood was quite decent, actually, living peacefully with his mother in Oldfolk. However once he was old enough, Gawain convinced his wife to start bringing Gareth to the Fortune mansion, as for him to know and maybe learn in the future about the way of life of the Barrett. A strange choice, but something that had been normalized in the family. Until now, none of the male members had even refused the offer of being a butler for the rest of their lives. Would this be any different?
Gareth's raising as a butler was pretty simple at first. He was given very easy tasks, such as organizing little places, tiding up clothes, cleaning one room at a time... If he ever felt in need for help, Liz was always there to help him. Gawain preffered to give him space instead, a way for him to learn, but it did cause some distance between father and son.
Overall, Gareth's relationship with his parents (and the Fortune elders) was so and so. He never had any feelings of dislike for them, but as he was growing into teen years he started to feel a little distaste for the future butler life. Sure, it did give him very good skills on life -and a huge attention for cleaniness and detail-, but the though of him spending life inside a mansion's walls felt... Overwhelming.
Whenever he visited Oldfolk's village, his day always got better. It was such a small, simple place, yet it always gave him a sense of wonder and curiosity. The world outside the Fortune mansion was so big, and he himself wondered if he could go one day and see it properly...
And besides freedom, Gareth also soon started to crave friendships. Even if both Oldfolk village AND school gave him opportunities to meet new people, he struggled a lot on social skills, specially when putting his feelings into words. To make this worse, a strange belief his father would impose of him is that "If possible, don't stand out too much. The butler's thoughts shouldn't matter much". An unfortunate toxic mentality that made Gareth be even nervous on speaking out at times. But honestly, seeing the other kids playing together while laughing gave him a saddening jealously...
Fortunately worry not, he at least has the current Fortune heir to give him company. He'll also meet other people too in the future and even more thanks to soccer, but uh... Let's end this here.
------
CLARIFICATION: Gareth's name written in japanese is ギャレス (Gyaresu), while the knight!Gareth's name is ガレス (Garesu). This means that these two "Gareth"s are completely different (as names), and the reserve keeper was not named after the legendary figure. However, I still wanted to put the idea here because... This is Knights of Queen, DUHHHH-
I wanted more knight references (?)

April is an interesting month for me, in a way or another. Two years already, back on April 7th was where my hypefixation with BW started; and on the following year, 6 days after things would instead switch towards the spanish team instead.
...Unfortunately I've already missed the first date by quite a long margin, but I'm still not giving up on posting something related to it. So, just like I did with BruShine, I'd like to share a JeanQuin draft too ;')
Tumblr media
----
While Geology isn't Jean's thing at all, he enjoys to see Quincy getting all enthusiastic with it. Seeing the value of the soil and its minerals wasn't he ever expected to get into, but Quin's passion was enough to hook him in. Now when the two are apart, even the simplest things such as tiny rocks at the beach remind Jean of him. So when re-meeting in Perth, he likes to bring Quincy collected things that could be of his interest.
One day, within the things brought there was a little blue stone. Jean had seen many similar to those since he was a child, but he never had the interest of knowing what they were (And its not like Reef or Nice had actual good answers either). Now with a rock expert at hand, he finally wanted to get an answer.
...Though for his surprise, turns out these stones weren't a natural wonder, sadly, just glass that once fell in the sea and ended differently on the shore. Despite the dissappointment, Quincy decided to reveal he also had been collecting them a while ago. So, they decided to collaborate by merging their collections together; increasing as reunions go by.
Time passes and passes, and in one meeting, Quincy brings a surprise for Jean: A seaglass bracelet made with the stones from their private collection. Turns out one of Quincy's younger sisters had gotten into jewlery recently, begging her brother to use such a pretty material for her craft. Quincy accepted, but as long as she also made a gift for his boyfriend.
Warmed by the gesture, Jean went and put it on his right arm, maybe with some help from the blondie. And for the cherry on top, Quincy himself shows off his matching one!
So, from now on, those adorable crafts serve as reminders of each other when they are apart.
----
Jean barely takes off his bracelet. Perhaps maybe before a match or hard training of course, since he's rather afraid of it falling off and/or breaking. But during his everyday life, he just brings it wherever he goes, no matter how casual it it. Perhaps to the point even his friends notice it too. Reef for example points it out at every occassion, enjoying to call it a "huge colorful wedding ring". While at first Jean would shun him off by the dumb joke. with time he came to like the comparison. It served as a good reminder of something he wanted to do later on.
Quincy meanwhile likes to show off his bracelet too, tho he does take it off during his Judo classes, rough excersive routines, or in any of his possible Outback trips. At some point in between his geology classes, the bracelet almost dissappeared from its sight and it made him go almost in full panic mode. The campus became a hell of a mess that day. Fortunately the object was found in decent shape, turns out it just fell due to a loosely tied knot. He needs to be more careful with that...

DRAGON FIVE: Cha Jung-Won
Tumblr media
The final bencher for now. I like his red glasses 👌
...Also, apparently, I was wrong. He's the one I do have the least of. Unfortunately I can't really develop him further because I don't even have time anymore, so... For now, enjoy what I have so far :(
He has a very slight rivarly with Hwan Woo-Myang due of being from the same city and two growing businesses. However it is rather mild, and for the most part it doesn't mess up their relationship as teammates. On the business side, yeah, they are going to be very aggresive in their marketing competition.
He adores kimchi, and one of the products he plans to distribute on the future are kimchi coolers.
With access to latest technology, Jung-Won posseses the latest phone models at hand. His future brand has a main focus on domestic life electronics, but its true that he also desires to invest in smartphone research and production. He already has the latest mobile phone models at hand; but he believes that the best way to improve on them is hearing and writing down ideas in person. Some suggestions written include longer battery duration, adding videos to calls, more space for music, and... Being able to touch the screen!? (Reminder, IE happens all during 200X, flipphones are very prevalent on the series.)
Besides writing about the characters I believe its important to also talk about the korean context as a whole. Koreans mostly overlooked the japanese soccer for the most part, not interested on seeing what their chaotic neighbour was doing, but when the Aliea menace hit Japan let's just say panic evolved the whole country. Following the situation upclose and finding out about Raimon's victories, this led to many korean children interested eventually on japanese football, Jung-Won being one of them. I think he'd like the idea of Jung-Won checking out various Football Frontier plays, eventually stumbling upon the infamous Megane Crash move of Raimon vs Shuuyou Meito. At first he was horrified with the whole concept, specially for a person that valued his glasses a lot (And with a reason, those things ARE quite expensive); but ironically that gained knowledge would turn out to be useful.
...Basically in the rare occasion that both he and Sung-Joon were sent to the field, things were getting complicated for Korea to score; specially with one less pretty boy to carry the team on its attack. It was there when JW realized that performing Megane Crash seemed to be the best outcome. Taking advantage of his -already complicated- relationship with him, he begged SJ to shoot at a very particular spot. Even the korean forward was confused, but his own desire of winning got in the way. And so, this created the only goal either players did in the whole FFI.
(Maybe this happened during the Red Viper match? Because I'd like to see Seong-Jun scoring something too than have all the goals made by *those three*).
Does this improve their bad first impressions at first? Partially. What ends up uniting them though is their shared love of... K-Dramas. Picture these two sitting in the sofa sharing tissues while a very overly dramatic scene plays at the TV 😭
Also him losing his glasses was extremely important; because he was incapacitated to play for a while due to his astigmatism. Pretty much he can see others with the ball, but when it gets too close its when it gets difficult for him. If it wasn't that his family was willing to cover any needed cost for new glasses in Japan, day-to-day life would have become complicated for Jung-Won.
----
I think that's it for both Jung-Won and the whole Fire Dragon bench. I still confess there's a lot I'd like to develop more about these players and their context, but I like these ideas as a first approach. I hope I can talk about them again sometime, be in other posts or other types of content. Thank you for reading! :D
...By the way, remember what I said on Chung-Yoon's post? This time around, I lied. The full bench actually appears in the anime!!! Just that Jung-Won's face got covered, rip 💔
Tumblr media
Also this, settei materials for animators including a height chart of FD. For the source of this specific photo, its complicated. I've found it here, but the uploader is a Livejournal user named Splash who apparently deleted the original source of these pictures. Which is weird, because I remember saving it on full quality time ago... (Though in here, I used Waifu2x)
Tumblr media
Either way, I like JW's pose, he looks sassy even if it's blurry 😭

March 3/16. ⛱️🦘
Happy day to one of my earliest and most beloved pairings of BW, BruShine/MarBeach <3
This is technically meant to be just a headcanon of them, but it ended up quite long. Either way, it is one of my favorites. Though I'll admit that I'm not sure if it's 100% going into my setting or just remained as a concept, I've never settled on that... Still a cute scenario either way. Love childhood encounter ships.
I might not focus with BW nor BruShine as intense as I did back on 2022, but these two still got my heart. I hope you can enjoy this story.
Tumblr media
Although both Bruce and Shine both had separate lives, one living on Western Australia and the other in Queensland, truth is that at some point in the past, they had already crossed paths. Way before they got to play on the same time. It happened while they both were around 3 or 4 years old, in an era where the storm hadn't come yet for neither. So for now, things had been quite happy. Shine for example, despite being overlooked by his parents, he always found a spot of comfort on his own grandmother, who'd take him to the coast almost every weekend.
However, the beaches that Shine would attend had its fair share of flaws. Soon trash started to accumulate, people would be impolite, loud sounds would play everywhere, and overall, no matter how beautiful the view was, the sorrounding city gray felt overwhelming for both child and woman. So as a way to give him a change of pace, his grandmother Sun took him one day to an entirely different place: Lucky Bay Beach, located within Western Australia. It wasn't easy to plan out said trip at first; but a business trip of the Beach family became the perfect excuse to take Shine away as his parents meddled in dumb economical stuff.
Tumblr media
Grandma Sun had once visited Lucky Bay a long time ago, sometimes to the point she herself questioned if what she had seen was real on the first place. And even after coming back decades later, the views of such white sand with a sky blue sea still felt something out of a dream. Little Shine also felt the same way too, which led him to step on and want to play with his sorroundings, just to prove himself the reality of such scenery.
But after enough toying with sand and splashing the sea waves, soon some external noises interrupted the peace of the two. At the distance, they saw a peculiar scenario: Following along the jumping beach kangaroos, there was another boy around Shine's age. Not paying mind to it at first, soon Sun was surprised with her grandson wanting to imitate said boy; to the point he also went jumping towards him. Although in such a clumsy way, almost the two children crashing with each other.
The fluffy animals were startled off by this encounter, and quite fearful, they fled towards the bushes; as the blonde boy observed in shock. Feeling cornered upon two strangers, he was almost at the verge of tears. When grandma Sun finally catched upon with her grandson and saw the crying stranger, she tried to comfort him, but it seemed futile. Things could have gotten worse, but...
"Do you like kangaroos?"
To Sun's surprise, Shine had decided to break the ice. Still distrustful at first, the other boy still replied by nodding up and down.
"Me too." Beach continued "I'm sorry for scaring them."
Well, at least sincerity had worked, given the blondie had halted his cries and now was standing up. Nonetheless, he was still feeling let down over losing his friends, so Shine took it as a chance to continue talking. At some point he looked over to grandma, usually her main helper in communicating, but she preferred for her grandson to go his own way this time around.
"...I liked how you were jumping! You looked just like one of them."
...Oddly enough, being compared to a kangaroo of all things was something that did lighten up the stranger, taking it as a compliment.
"You think so...?" Were the first words he muttered upon a smiling Shine.
"Yes! I want to see it again. Could you show me...?"
Now feeling better, the blonde boy nodded once again, and soon he became Shine's teacher on kangaroo jumping. Both boys bonded quickly as they jumped together, and soon tried to follow another batch of marsupials nearby. It didn't last for long, as their laughs accidentally scared the kangaroos away; but at least the blondie didn't cry this time around. Soon their playtime stopped being only jumping, and now the two were playing in the ocean waves, splashing each other. And once both were tired enough, they chilled together on the sand.
Right before Shine could ask for his new friend's name however, separation came upon them. By just hearing the far away call of his father and grandparents, "Bruce! Bruuuuce!", the blondie reacted on the spot and was ready to run towards his comfort zone. Rushing each other's goodbyes, Shine tried to share his name at the last second; but even to this day he never knew if the blondie had actually heard him.
Life kept going for both. After the encounter Bruce had gotten more interested on talking to others; leading to him later on finding his actual best friend back in Esperance. Shine had also tried to talk with others too, but unlike Bruce, soon those around him started to treat him different because of his tiny height. As a result, he became more solitary and preferred to reject conversations.
When Big Waves was formed, Bruce was soon to recognize the same boy he had talked back then, barely changed except for few centimeters of height. To be sincere I don't remember developing much the idea in this specific point; but I could see each other at some point addressing the elephant on the room. Well, if Shine's willing to talk, that is. But if things go well enough, maybe this could be a cute explanation how he learnt Kangaroo Kick too. (Idk if Holly used it on the anime, it is Bruce's creation to me)
At least one thing is sure, and it doesn't matter if it's on the FFI or later on; whenever Bruce or Shine see each other, it makes both reminisce of simpler, yet happier times. Though nostalgia can be toxic at times, and it did prove when the two met once again. Now as adults, both unhappy with their lives, having said reminder nearby didn't help at all.
Fortunately this idealization of the past didn't last forever, and after managing to accept both their current situations (with ways to improve within them); the two were ready to start a new step of their lives. They'll keep making new, happier memories as life continues its course. 🥺💙🧡

DRAGON FIVE: Noh Sung-Joon
Tumblr media
Or how he used to be known before the wikia name chage, No.
Jokes aside, I love him 😭 Like the rest of the bench he has a simple design but for me its the profile that always spins things up. This one in particular aged like a fine wine.
"Plans to fly all over the world as a Hallyu star in the future."
Learn more below! ☆
First off, about his profile... What it mentions, 'hallyu', refers to the growing fascination of overseas audiences towards korean entretainment, be by k-dramas, movies, music; everything korean. Pretty much what's going on with the web nowadays.
Some profile translation went to be more direct however. The spanish dub turned him into a k-poper for example:
"Le gustaría que la música pop coreana fuera conocida en todo el mundo." "Wishes korean pop music was known worldwide"
...So yes, he's probably the closest we're gonna get to Stan Twitter in Inazuma Eleven (?
As it is notorious however, such music genre hadn't become popular yet during 2010/the FFI era. So for now, all he can do is find ways to share it with others and hope it will blow up in the future. (He's in for a huge surprise)
If he's organizing a party, be it in Korea or overseas, expect him to put K-Pop on the mix.
Although he has set the goal of being a hallyu star in the future, he doesn't have an specific idea of what in particular due to the ambiguity of the term. Currently he'd love to be an actor, but he wouldn't mind becoming a singer either. He keeps his options open.
Though, his singing voice could have some training...
Given his skill 'Ikemen!UP', he's fairly popular, specially with the girls. Though he hasn't gotten into any dating stuff yet.
...Unfortunately, he can be quite annoying at times. He's always finding an opportunity to shine both outside and in a match, liking to gain compliments. He's isn't neccesarily the one to bring others down, but in case he has to do group work he makes sure his voice is the most heard.
Back on Korea, he was acclaimed to be one of the best forwards of the country alongside his buddies, and it was rumored that if an international tournament was to happen, he'd be inmediately on the starting line-up. So this obviously made him excited when the FFI was announced, but then... His spot on the field was taken by three "half-koreans with japanese names"; or at least that's how he calls them. Now benched, he can't help but feel resentful at times; but there isn't much he can't do anyway. At least when he leaves the bench by chance, he'll do his best to perform as he can.
(He mainly doesn't like much the Chaos duo due that they took the spots meant for his friends, buuut his feelings towards Aphrodi are more conflicted; as while he still has some sort of a grudge, he can't help but also find him... Rather pretty. However having these feelings confuses him a lot, and he just doesn't know how to act on them.)
When it comes to the bench group, Sung-Joon warmed up very well to Ji-Nan, as despite his short temper he likes his goalkeeper skills. Plus their shared pettiness make them unite even more, usually training together on their free time.
Sung-Joon tries to get Ji-Nan more into korean pop culture, even believing he could be an interesting actor for a production too. This is also why he likes Hyeon-Dae and his aspiration as a cinema producer. He sees future on this trio!
Being the only 3rd Year of the bench group, he often tries to impose himself as their leader. But sadly there's gonna be disagreements on his proposals, specially from Jung-Won. They don't like each other that much, but... If it wasn't for the "four-eyes", Sung-Joon wouldn't have made his only shot at the FFI. So he's forced to tone his rivarly down.
...And to end. Some time ago, I was searching for TCG pictures in the Inazuma11 wiki, and while stumbling upon Route of Sky's card... LOOK WHO I FOUND!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SUNG-JOOOOOOOON ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
It makes 0 sense for he to be here BUT IDK I'M SO GLAD HE'S ON CARD AHHHHHHHHHH
(This also would make him be the only FD bencher with "merch". If we think about it.)

Quincy Horst Headcanons (New Year Edition 🐉🇦🇺)
Hello. Happy 2024! 🎇
I still struggle to articulate my thoughts at the moment, but I want to thank everyone for the support during this 2023. 💞 I'm genuinely grateful that even if this blog remains small, there's people out there that want to listen to the silly stories I give these characters. There's so much to share yet, like the Euro B coaches and the Toro Blanco, but I have confidence I will be able to do it soon. Thank you for waiting, and on the meantime, let's talk about something else today.
Back on my main blog @/brucemarlin I remember reblogging a drawing with THE Bruce Marlin for the first post of the year 2023. Why not doing the same for here, too? Given I don't post much about Quincy Horst despite my URL, I guess this is a good way to fix it.
To clarify, this is a summarized outline. So unlike Gareth -which I divided in detailed parts-, this is a bullet point with smaller pieces, but that do explain my overall ideas with Quincy at least until the FFI. This is also a very rushed post, so forgive me for any mistakes.
Quincy was born in Kalgoorlie, the so-called aussie city of gold. However due to issues his family had to move out to Esperance later on.
Overall, the Horst family had been operating a mining company since their arrival to Australia, but lately the business has been struggling with many things, such as past controversies and their main goldmine starting to dry out.
This is where Quincy's profile comes out, he desires as to find a goldmine mainly as economical support (and a quick way to gain fame for himself). Ironically he does get into the geological aspects later on in life.
He is the 5th child in a family of 7, mostly composed of girls. The other boy in the family went already to study at Canberra, so he's absent most of the time. This led for Quincy to interact with his sisters more, obviously with the consequence of him getting mannerisms, atitude and interests that can be seen as """girly""". Not a bad thing at all, but it did gave him a hard time at school; specially from the other boys.
But unlike similar situations, Quincy did the risky thing of actually fighting his own bullies back. It didn’t end up well, and while it helped his parents realize the gravity of the situation, by that point Quincy had gotten tried.
For the rest of his adolesnce, he developed the radical choice of hating anything girly (Be interests or even just the color pink), at the same time trying to find ways to look "cooler" or "macho". Until he grew up from it, this did strain the relationship with most of his sisters; specially those he once used to play with.
But not everything was bad, at least. Around the end of Primary School, turns out Quincy's aunt started to date a man of surname Marlin, who also had a son. The boy named Bruce was quick to befriend Quincy due to their similar age and interests, so at least Quin finally had another boy to rely on. Hell, he does consider Bruce to be more of an older brother figure than his actual bro.
Thanks to him Quincy also got onto soccer, though by getting accidentally hit by one of his show-off shots. The sudden incident at least made Quincy develop interest into becoming a goalkeeper. While researching aboit the sport he soon stumbled upon Jean Baker, the keeper from Sydney whose fame was slowly growing. Finding him badass, Quin started to use him as a role-model on his training. But soon the sentiment grew from "I want to be like him" to "I will be BETTER than him C:<"
I guess that's the most essential info for now; there's still quite lots of things to talk about Quincy and his family on detail, but this is a good outline of what I have.
But, here's a little add-on, since we are on the Year of the Dragon: Since their origins, the Horst family has kept for generations the very exclusive belief of the Horst Dragon, a mythical draconic creature that has been protecting them for centuries, even when the family moved from Germany to Australia. Even to this day Mr. Horst is a firm believer of this creature, and he was succesful to pass this enthusiasm on his son. Quincy is the most passionate child about the Horst Dragon, even more than his other -skeptical- siblings. He even claims at times that the Horst Dragon helps him to guard the goal. Huh.

Yeah, it should be obvious for now, but its with Querardo that Toro Blanco has the biggest beef with, being 1- The son of a matador 2- On the verge of following his steps and 3- The captain of RM overall. So, it's him who Toro seems to seek out the most, and the first one to defy everytime. Sure, every so often he'll gladly drag Samuel and David's asses too, but he is always focused first on the lion boy.
Querardo's feelings aganist Toro are actually SO conflicted. He's constantly pissed at his skills and the bad image he leaves on the team, alongside the witty remarks he does aganist the bullfighting world. And as somebody who's constantly in betweeing choosing or refusing to become a matador... The prescence of a character like him does make him struggle even more in his position. But one thing is clear, and is that regardless what he feels about BF, he WANTS to defeat Toro Blanco nonetheless. Hell, unironically his desire of bringing the dancer down is what gives him enough motivation to continue on the FFI after a dissappointing Euroleague + terrible USA match.
Eventually, Querardo does manage his objetive, managing to counter and put himself at the level of the Toro Blanco. At first this would be the perfect spot to let his ego rule over and humilliate TB over and over, but by that point... Let's just say Que had gotten attached to him. Every single encounter the two have had were thrilling, and whenever he got to see that strange bull mask was enough to get his blood pumping, no matter the result of that versus. Besides, he couldn't help to admire how willing TB was on their mission, never giving up even when the dancer itself realized Querardo was outsmarting them. In a way, their versus had the same intensity of a bullfight, just that with no actual animals involved (fortunately).
At times Que wondered, who was behind TB? Why did he hide his identity? Why did he kept coming back ? During the first encounters Que was salty enough to overthink about this, constantly finding suspects and creating theories over who could be the one under the mask. But soon those questions became meaningless to him. From wanting to know his identity as to beat him up in his weak state, he soon instead wanted to know TB's true self as to congratulate him. As to know him better, as to become his friend, maybe even.....
Such had become the attachment, that when TB started to appear less and less in Liocott, Que took it in a bittersweet way. Maybe his true self is within the crowd, maybe they have finally turned into a fan... Whatever is the reason, Querardo still promises to get stronger as to beat other FFI teams as the tournament progresses, and also him if they get to encounter each other again. If he's able to, of course. Alongside his trainings, his FFI agenda is -surprisingly- busy.

DRAGON FIVE: Lee Chung-Yoon (+ Lee Jin-Sung)
Tumblr media
CHUNG-YOON <333333
...He matters a lot to me ok. I actually discovered him thanks to the Random Page button on the wiki (I needed to make some Sims back in 2020), so my attachtment to him is slightly longer than the overall bench. Though it is interesting that as I was actually writing a setting for him, a japanese fan made me realize something about this player that, well... Changed my whole view about him, for better or worse.
However, there's a little catch, and there's an extra character here, Fire Dragon's Coach Lee Jin-Sung. I already spoiled the reason why, but I'm going to develop on it further here.
Enjoy!
Both Chung-Yoon's parents work at the same hospital. His father is a nurse, and his mother a doctor. He mostly has to rely on his grandparents for care at the moment.
Like his profile says, he's very praised for his well care of the elders, including those of his own family. In fact, we could also say she's the actual caretaker of his grandparents instead. Some appreciate the detail and patience he has with old people, and his father often wonders if he could work as a nurse in the future. However... Let's say that's only one side of the coin.
...CY lives a double life, pretty much. While at home he's gentle and silent, at school he's a literal beast. Not only he's cold and asocial, but he's also extremely aggresive, often getting in trouble with the local bullies and delincuents of the class. All hidden from the adults and teachers of course; there are many, many street fights that Chung-Yoon participated AND won.
...It is actually unknown if CY does actually like this brute lifestyle or not. But it seems he at least tries very hard to cover it up from his parents -and specially his elders-.
...My reasoning to this whole HC comes from his actual hissatsu lineup, in which Breakthrough 2 is included. He's the only FD member to have it, you're welcome.
youtube
The only one who knows about his secret life however is Lee Jin-Sung, the FD coach. In my setting, he is the step-brother of Chung-Yoon's dad, as their parents married when they were young. So he's technically his uncle, even if they don't look that similar.
When CY was called to the selection, some controversy sparked upon making the connection; even making people accuse Jin-sung of nepotism. Since he doesn't seem to have any children able to play, why not use his brother's one instead?
This does cause Chung-Yoon to be seen down by other korean players and the media, often disregarding his actual soccer skills. And hell, even CY himself starts to have his own worries over why was he the one choosen for FD. But no matter what how many times the confronts the coach, he always gets the same answer from Jin-Sung: "There's a hidden potential in you, but you have to realize it".
Similarly to Ji-Nan, Chung-Yoon also uses football to express his anger away, unfortunately with a very aggresive playstyle involving way too many tackles to the opponent. And maybe few red cards. Maybe as the tournament progresses he'll eventually to find other ways to play without causing unnecessary harm.
At least, not everything with Chung-Yoon is always pain or harm. When practice is over he likes to spend his time window shopping, specially around those streets that sell unique things. Most of the time he'll do it alone, but in rare occassions he'll get to do it with one of his teammates.
Regarding them... Let's just say that CY isn't an unknown name at all, specially for the FD players that live in his same city; so -almost- everyone is aware of what Chung-Yoon can do if he gets angry. Because of that, nobody ever tries to take that risk.
I think the only time it went south with him was with Nagumo Haruya, I wouldn't be surprised if his atitude got onto CY's nerves. If it wasn't for both Aphrodi and Chang-Soo, chances were that Nagu wouldn't have survived until the Inazuma Japan match.
As for the bench, I think he gets so and so with them. Not bad, but its true that deep down Ji-Nan and the others are terrified of him, so they always have to watch their step whenever Chung-Yoon is nearby. Well, maybe not Hyeon-Dae. He treats him like he'd treat everyone, be it for ignorance or by innocence. At least CY takes it well, it seems...
One last player that treats him surprisingly nice too is Cho Myong-Ho. Yes, CY is intimidating, but look at those kicks! There's a formidable taekwondo rival hidden within! During the whole FFI he begged CY again and again to at least have a versus together, though it was never accepted from the bencher. Maybe it is for the best.
And with that, all the benchers who were clearly vissible on the anime have been covered :D

El Matador Rojo: An analysis of Querardo Naval, bullfighting, and localization differences.
Tumblr media
Querardo Naval, dub name Victor Garcia, is the captain of Red Matador (Or Los Rojos); Spain's selection in the third Inazuma Eleven game. Not that relevant in the franchise (Minus for a friendly match on the anime), but unfortunately with it's own controversy. To sum it up, almost everything about RM -including few of its players- is highly tied with bullfighting o 'Tauromaquia', the most controversial spanish tradition... Yet, the most "recognizable" worldwide.
In a way or another, I can understand the dislike towards RM and its players, specially from the Spanish Ina11 fans. Like it or not, bullfighting is one of those discussion topics that are bound to create strong emotions on people, specially on the country its most associated with. So, I won't judge anyone who isn't in par on this team.
But because today is May 5th, (5/5), the captain's number, I wanted to dedicate this entry to him, as to show a so-called "different side of the coin". We WON'T be talking about bullfighting per-se; but instead about how it was originally implemented on Querardo's character, how overseas localization treated it, and, most shocking to me, how that accidentally changed his entire character.
This entry is long and it will contain some personal interpretations of mine, so please bear with me.
First off, we will be checking the japanese profile from the original IE3 games, released back in 2010. Given this was the first version of Red Matador, it won't hide itself on showing bullfighting on its team and its profiles. Querardo's one in particular, goes like this:
闘牛のマタドールを目指して幼い頃から特訓している。 "He has been training since childhood to become a matador in bullfighting." (DeePL) "Aiming to become a bullfighting matador, he has been training since childhood." (Google Translate)
Very straightforward, he simply desires to become a matador and that's it. We could also talk about his anime version, too: Vs Inazuma Japan, he's shown as a very fiery player, perhaps seeming a bit smug towards his rivals but not necessarily ill-mannered, as he's eager to re-match Inazuma Japan again. He also does not hold back to use a hissatsu heavily inspired by bullfighting: Matador Feint.
youtube
Now we go to the other side of the globe, and this is where things start to change. Like I said, due to the controversial motif Spain wasn't very fond with this team; and most likely the rest of Europe too. So few modifications had to be made as RM was being brought overseas.
First, we'll stop by the english version, which is the most faithful translation, BUT...
"He has trained to be a matador since he was a child, but he hates hurting animals."
As you can see, Querardo (Or better said, Victor) retains his desire to be a matador, but now we get to ALSO learn about his dislike of animal suffering. Rather... Ironic.
In my opinion, I feel like this -and similar changes we'll see- were just a safe way for the localizers to say "SEE!? Red Matador isn't all pro-bullfighting!!!"; or maybe as a way to avoid putting the topic in a "normal"/positive light. Nonetheless, let's keep going through Europe. Something I've noticed is that the other languages also try to keep it faithful, but they change in at least one thing.
We now go to Spain, aka the country this character was meant to represent. Out of all the languages I could say this is the one that has been changed the most, adding too some sort of "background" to Victor's life.
"Se crió en una finca con toros y sabe torear, pero no le gusta herir a los animales." "He grew up on a farm with bulls and knows how to fight (them), but doesn't like hurting animals." (Translation by myself)
Another huge change is that while on both the japanese and english version it is explicity said he wants to become a matador, in here is it removed entirely. Victor just happens to know some moves, still justifying the existence of Matador Feint on him, but it is NOT specified if he wants to become a bullfighter or not.
The German profile of Victor returns to be more similar to ENG/JP, BUT we could say there is a... Different use of words. Credits for raspberrydevil on Tumblr for translating the profile from their game.
"Wurde von Kindesbeinen an zum Matador ausgebildet, obwohl er Tiere über alles liebt." "Since his childhood he was raised to be a Matador, even though he loves animals above anything else."
...In this version, it isn't even Victor's choice to become a matador. It is someone else's. And here it isn't specified if he likes this assigned future; in fact, it seems it conflicts with his love of animals. Sad...
Shout-out to the french version too, although my less knowledge about the language might not give me the full picture. I find interesting the use of the word "Destiné à " (Assigned, destined for, intended), and that in this version Victor straight up REFUSES to harm any animals, conflicting even more with his imposed future as a matador.
"Destiné à la tauromachie depuis l'enfance, il refuse toutefois de faire souffrir des animaux." "Destined for bullfighting since childhood, he refuses however to make animals suffer." (DeepL)
For now that's all the profiles I could find, but I think you get a proper idea of what I'm talking about. Either way...
...Isn't it interesting how with all those changes, we could make two entirely different characters?
First, we have Querardo Naval, a fiery boy who wants to be a matador regardless of the controversy; yet is so proud of this art that he incorporated its moves onto soccer.
And meanwhile, we have Victor Garcia: A boy raised alongside bulls, with the choice of becoming a matador in the future either made by him, or by somebody/something else: Be it a parent, family legacy, or even societal pressure. However, as time went on, Victor's feelings started to turn conflicted. He loved animals, specially the bulls who he would see almost everyday; yet being a matador required some sacrifices. In hopes of clearing his mind up he turned onto soccer instead, adding his own knowledge of bullfighting moves for new hissatsus; but its unknown what will he choose at the end. Well, of course, this ISN'T the actual story of the character, just one of the many takeaways I *myself* can interpret with all these overseas changes.
Now, here comes a dilemma, but when it comes to choosing between these two versions, specially when creating headcanons... I'd rather leave that to your own choice. I feel like the opinion on this topic overall will depend over oneself's own view of bullfighting. Those who might be on its favor could argue these changes are unfair, and those who dislike such tradition might see this in a positive light.
In my case, I'll confess that I personally prefer overseas!Querardo/Victor, mainly because I find interesting the story and dilemma it presents. To follow a century old tradition, or to see its other side? Plus, I think its a fun contrast with his whole team. Keep in mind my own view about bullfighting and "matadores" is mostly negative, so that influences my choice a bit. But if somebody where to prefer Querardo's original version, then I'd have no option but understand. After all, it does feel weird to see him so happily being the captain of an entire team based around bullfighting. Or maybe he's masking it, who truly knows.
I also understand somebody preferring Querardo's original profile due to it being heavily modified between versions. Lately I've been seeing some discourse when it comes to localization and region differences, and it's obvious not everyone will hold the same views about the topic.
Either way, if you've gotten here, thank you. Red Matador and Querardo have been topics I've been hyper-focusing a lot lately, so I've enjoyed writing this analysis. If you got another interesting overseas game translation here, feel free to share it, alongside your own thoughts on the character and his potential story.
Muchísimas Gracias!
----
Clarifications:
Another character from Red Matador that also had huge changes between versions was Samuel Mayo/Mateo Bonachea; but I'd rather put him in an aside post.
This entry's idea happened with me finding the japanese version AFTER seeing the english and german versions first, which hitted me with such cognitive dissonance that led me to do all this research.
An alternate reading of "Wurde ausgebildet" in the german profile means "was trained" or "Has been trained", which is an adjective that refers to somebody who had been teached. It's still curious how in all the instances are worded like if a third party were the one who trained him. I'm not good at German at all, so correct me if I'm wrong.
To tell you the truth, even I myself don't know how to handle Querardo's story in my own setting. Like said before I love what the overseas region proposes and what could be done about it; but not using his original japanese self just gives me... Guilt? Idk. But at least I hope it can inspire anybody else who wants to make headcanons for him.
Other profile I saw was the italian one, but I haven't found much of interest with it.
Final one for now: I'm aware that a huge discussion that persists when it comes to bullfighting is the topic of "if the bull suffers or not", and also the personal stance of it can also impact any possible interpretation of the character. But by my own view, let's be fair... Seriously, there's NO way the poor animal doesn't have at least some high level of distress during the act. Being trapped in an enclosed arena with a deadly fate no matter what... Poor thing must be so confused 💔
...If you believe I'm just reading way too deep into this, don't be afraid of telling me (? If what I believe isn't true, then at least I hope this post can show some localization fun facts. 😅
