The islands are not exactly to scale, but I wanted to make sure they were visible. I’ll try to make edits as they visit more islands to try and keep this updated!
And click for the details! Tumblr loves eating the quality

i wanted to throw my hat in the ring with these councilblr/jrwiblr riptide ocs! heres my merperson Aberdeen (he/they/sey)! coming from a small village in cold ocean waters, they might not be biased towards either pirates or the navy, but sey're always ready to help people in need!
More info added in this edit!!
Name: Aberdeen Atteneye
Pronouns: he/him, they/them, sey/sem
Alignment: true neutral
Class: Cleric
Info: as sey grew up with their family in a secluded bay off the coast of an uninhabited island, Aberdeen never found himself privy to the politics of humans, especially the conflict between the pirates and the navy. He only rarely saw seafaring vessels from a distance, and sey always kept wary of straying too close.
Over time, excessive fishing and an increase in ship passage damaged the population of the creatures that the Atteneye family had been hunting for the years they had lived there, and it reached a point where they had to consider whether to choose between their home and their hunger, and Aberdeen volunteered to leave to scout for more abundant sea.
It wasn’t long after sey left that in seir excitement to see new things and meet new people that they found themself lost, unsure where his family had been when he left.
Full of guilt and despair for abandoning their family, they brought semself to the church of the moon goddess, and began to follow the belief system that the ocean should be preserved more than the land, learning magic and drawing from the power of this belief to cast spells he never thought they would be able to do.
He never harboured any resentment for the surface dwellers, however, and instead found semself wishing that simply everyone could live under the water together, living in harmony and peace with one another and the ocean itself in the same way that he did when he was young. Due to this fact, he still finds himself speaking with travellers and traders alike on the sea, offering safe passage and protection from storms that could damage weaker vessels.
