Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 4: Mizuho no Kuni - Character Tracks (Pt.1)

Japanese Title: 遙かなる時空の中で4~瑞穂の国~

Disclaimer: I only own the translation. Everything else is Koei’s/Ruby Party’s. I tried to keep the meaning as intact as possible, but I also took some creative liberty here and there. Also, do note that English and Japanese aren’t my native language. Translator’s note will be put at the end of the post.

Aaand with that out of the way, finally! First post! The album consisted of 10 character tracks, two songs, two 20 minutes drama tracks, and one 10 minutes drama track. This post will cover five of the character tracks (doing 10 at once apparently is too much for me ww). The event ranges from stuffs that happen in the common route to right before the character’s ending, so beware spoilers. Personally, I’d recommend reading/listening to this after you finish the game. You might just, I don’t know, notice some little crumbs here and there *wink*

Everlasting Chaos ~Raja~

This is... I see, this is a continuation of a long, long dream. A world with never ending despair. The last time I was awake was when I met that kind-looking girl at the Midori-no-Yuniwa[1]. Her look of melancholy... is the only thing I cannot forget. But even then I have to wonder, was I truly awake at that time? There are probably... no more chances of me regaining my own self... It is my fate to be swallowed up in this. No matter what words and sentences I come up with, they will return to the void. Ruin will come to all, and no one can change that. That's right... No one... No one but the King with the Raven Hand[2] can turn around destiny already written by the gods. But... the King with the Raven Hand has yet to appear before me. Oh, mighty King... We have no time left, and yet, where are you in this vast world? Quickly... Release our world... from this... loop... of chaos... ~~~ Lion King, no matter what you wished for, nothing will happen. Nothing will change. No one can stop the flames of ruin, or the fading into silence. Not even the King with the Raven Hand.

Oh, come on. Just when I thought you defeated Magatsuhi-no-Kami[3], you suddenly vanished into thin air. Do you know how hard I looked for you? You keep looking out for everyone, but you never paid much attention to yourself. ...What? Why are you laughing? You think I'm worrying too much? Well, sorry for worrying too much. I love you, and you're important to me. That's why. Even when we're together like this, I still get scared, you know. That when I turn around, when I let go of my hand, I wouldn't be able to see you anymore. What would happen when I lose this warmth in my hand? We'll be together from now on so it'll be okay? ...You’re right. Well, promise me this, then. No matter what happens, we won't ever let go of each other's hands. You'll be in charge of cooking every day if you break our promise, got it? We'll do it together. We'll be together, always.

Woven Thread of History ~Hiiragi~

All of the Dragon Jewels are in My Lady's hands. The preparation to fulfill my wish is complete. Until then, let us be at ease and dally in this dream. Now, once the sun rises, history will be written. I've spent my whole life waiting for this exact moment. The blissful time I spent with the princess will end, and then... *chuckles* My Lady truly is a charming one. To think I would hear her say, "I don't think you're telling me the whole truth." If everything was a lie, then I would lose nothing but my life. You are the one who doesn't know anything, My Lady. Pure, yet sinful as you are. Be that as it may, tonight is the only time I can wait upon Her Ladyship in her dreams. Just this once, will you be so kind as to appear before me tonight, my beloved Second Princess?

Unchanging Things ~Futsuhiko~

Your Majesty, I know you are busy with governmental affairs after the battle with Magatsuhi-no Kami, but how about taking a little break outside? I will accompany you... Hmm...? "It's just the two of us so stop calling me Your Majesty?" That's impossible! This is the Kashihara Palace, and you are the queen of Nakatsu. We must not be forgetting courteousness. Huh...? "Did you take care of me because I'm the queen?"...? O-of course not! I love you! Whether you're a queen or not, you are the only one I will offer my heart toー P-please forgive me! I... it's just... Eh? You're happy, so I don't... need to apologize... You're always so kind. You always accept me for who I am. And that is why I will always be drawn to you. Let us go outside. To the land filled with flowers and warm rays of light. To Toyoashihara, the land that you protected.

Human’s Feelings ・ Warm Lights ~Tooya~

It's almost time. The dark vortex, the wind of ruins. I can hear them, the howling and cries of Mother Earth. The dark dragon will consume all, and none will be left on its trails. But be not afraid, Priestess, for it will be fine. The warm lights will gather and protect you. And I am here with you. Tsuchigumo may have disappeared, and I may have lost my powers, but you cleared the fog that clouded my judgment. I will no longer waver. I loathe the idea of losing you, of being apart from you. That is why I will protect you. Even if the whole world is my enemy, I will stay by your side. We will always be together, my beloved. For I am yours[4].

Translator’s Note:

I can’t for the life of me find the English-equivalent for the word 斎庭 (yuniwa), and I legit was about to give up until a friend of mine pointed out: why not transliterate it since it’s a pretty specific word? Considering it’s probably also a name of a place somewhere in Tokoyo, I ended up just transliterating it.

What Raja’s referring to is the 黒き手の王, which can be directly translated to Black Hand King or King with the Black Hand. It just sounded, idk, flat to me, hence why I chose Raven. Gotta make it more spicy, y’know.

Similar reasoning to 1. Magatsuhi-no-Kami is part of Japanese mythology, so I just stick with it.

Tooya was the last one I did for this batch, and not gonna lie, after writing a direct “I love you” twice I just got tired of it. And saying “I love you” after “my beloved” felt kind of repetitive to me, hence the change. Anyway, original line is: 大好きだよ

Well just based on the news I think the February lim slot has to be a unit event unless they don't care about finishing the rotation before 3.5. January lim could go either way, but because of WxS World Link, that only leaves January lim, February slots 1 and 2, February lim, and March slot 2

Haruka is guaranteed to be one of the perm February slots. Honami could either be January lim or February 1. I think Ena is more likely to be the February lim than Toya is, especially given how the MV types line up. I mean they could do three 3DMV unit events in a row (with a mixed event in there somewhere) since the last 3DMV would end up in March if they do that, but it feels a little more likely they'd do the double 3DMV events and then the next 2DMV. Ena also hasn't had a lim banner with her as the focus (all of her unit events and both of her mixed events have been perms)

I don't know. WxS World Link kinda messes everything up, and the lim schedule is a mess

okay so first off after the stream it occurred to me that i did a big stupid and Honami 4 cannot be the lim banner this month. Lol. Because that would've required them to announce 3 event songs this wandasho channel.

So Toya4 is Toya/Kohane/An lims end of february. Calling it now. Ena I have my doubts about because you could do Ena/Mafuyu/Kaito because both girls are desperate for lims and n25 kaito will be the next vsinger lim, but considering Mizuki has never been rateup on an Ena unit event and also has the most lims in the game right now, I think a Ena/Mizuki rateup for ena4 is most likely.

I will admit I'm still very stuck on things. At the very least it's pretty much confirmed that Hona4 is slot 1 and Haruka4 is slot 2 for february.

Given Emu skipping the rateup she should've had on the current event i'd say she's most likely to be the lim event (plus i think it's too close to akito's last lim when lots of characters have gone nearly a year w/o, and kanade is capped on 4* cards rn). If we look at the characters who need a lim within the next 4 lim events, we have Toya, An, Ena, Mafuyu, Honami, and Emu. Emu already has been featured on mixed events with Ena, Honami and Toya, and we can rule out An based on the likeliness of Toya4 being lim. Emu/Mafuyu works, since they have an established connection, and n25 kaito should be the next vsinger lim and he works with mafuyu.

Also I've seen multiple JP specs that Akito will be the 3.5 event, which makes a lot of sense now that i think about it. it's either kanade, emu, or akito, and miku usually has a 4* on the .5 events. out of those characters, two of them already have a lim miku for their unit. so you could do something like, akito/miku and then maybe ena? i know she was lim on last year's .5 event but there's that 12 month limit thing that's been pretty consistent. plus, pre-established connection. honestly you could probably put Honami on there too because she has a connection to Ena.

then kanade perm mixed after 3.5 god knows who the cards would be on that.

it's patchy, but here's a visual demo of what i'm thinking rn. with this i'm also assuming Ichika/Saki 3.5 fes and Tsukasa/Emu summer fes. mainly based on the fact the WL gacha will end only 8 days before 3.5 (minori and shiho could get away with it because they at least had two weeks between cards). also saki will need a lim more than emu by that point under the assumption that next event is emu.

Previous post is here. Here’s the rest of the character tracks! I’m giving a certain man the most criminal, bombastic side eye because he sure as hell deserved it (you know who you are). Surprisingly enough, that man is also one of the easier ones to translate and tbh I’m not even sure why. Overall, though, I’ve had the most fun with Hiiragi and struggled with Sazaki, Asvin, and Ribhu. As usual, the events ranges from near the end of the common route to before the character’s ending, so beware spoilers.

Translation will be below the cut. Hope you enjoy it!

Wedding Garments ~Asvin~

Magatsuhi-no-Kami have disappeared, and though we still have a mountain of things to do, it sure is nice to see your own land prosper.

Hmm? What is it? You look happy. Oh, you saw the nuptials.

A wedding… dress? I see, is it similar to the ceremonial outfit worn in your world? Your face, my dear, is telling me you want to wear it. Then I shall give it to you. Is it not the duty of a husband to give his wife the things she desires?

And…? You'll feel bad so there's no need to…

That's nonsense. You don't need to hold back. I like being depended on by you, after all.

Once everything settles down, let's hold another nuptials, just the two of us. Not just in Nakatsu, I want to once again make a vow to spend the rest of my life with you in this land of Tokoyo.

At the End of Remembrance ~Kazahaya~

A new stream of time is flowing in this world that was once annihilated by the White Dragon.

I threw away my past as a god and walked as a human in Kashihara. If I continue through this path, I will eventually meet her. But even if she saw me, she wouldn't know who I am, as she doesn't have any memory of me in this newly born world. But even so, I keep walking, so I could meet her once again.

My heart longs for her.

This heart of mine is the one thing that even the gods couldn't take away from me. My memories of the days I spent with her are my most cherished possession. If I have this heart, these memories, with me, there is nothing more that I fear. Even if you no longer remember me, my heart will guide me to where you are.

Haha! Just who do you think I am? Finding everyone and getting them out is a piece of cake for me. Well, I was a bit worried about how it'd end, but I'm glad I did just as you told me.

Well, ever since you picked up my enchanted feather, flying… while holding you in my arms… has always been one of my wishes. Looking back, you've given me so much.

Ouch!

Maybe I raised the temperature too much. But I'm glad the application seems to be going well. It will take some time until it's complete, but with this trebuchet, His Highness's battles should go more smoothly.

Even as someone as powerless as me, I can still be of use with my knowledge. I couldn't be any happier than this.

Now that I think about it, when I met the Second Princess at the tatara furnace, she looked sad when she realized this is a weapon that can only be used in wars.

Well, seeing as she's someone who doesn't even shun her enemies, I guess that's to be expected. She's going through a difficult time because of a war she never wished for, but even so, she never gave up on what lies beyond it. And that is precisely why I want to reach out my hand and help her.

Hmm, I think that should do it for the preparations.

I'll be on my way to assist you, Second Princess.

I'll be more than happy if you decide to look my way. When that happens, I'll make sure to wave my hand as hard as I can. Though I don't think I could keep my composure...

(important) Translator’s note:

Nuptials: A person's marriage and marriage celebrations (Cambridge Dictionary)

Kazahaya's 2nd to last line is actually 姫、そして再び出会えたとならば、俺はもう二度とあなたのそばから離れません, so I contemplated on using "I would never leave your side again" for the latter half of the sentence, but using the word "again" twice in the same sentence felt kinda weird so I just used the current "I would stay by your side", which hopefully conveyed a similar enough meaning.

Sazaki's track title is 空翔ける夢, which I think can be picked apart like this > 空（を）翔ける夢. If so, the meaning would more or less be "dreams of flying/soaring in the sky", hence why I chose "Dreams of the Sky". I do hope I got the meaning right so uhh if you have any suggestions, ideas, or corrections feel free to leave a comment or reply.

Plus not so important tidbit about kazahaya’s track (contains major spoilers of the game, feel free to skip this section, i just want to rant lmao):

Disclaimer: I know the drama cd is released after the game and this is probably unintentional on Koei's part but LMAO I just find it really funny. Also I just can't skip on the opportunity to dunk this man lol (affectionate)

KAZAHAYA I AM LOOKING AT YOU YOU’RE ON A THIN ICE!!! Fun fact about this track: this man is lying through his teeth. Did you notice how he said:

Even if you no longer remember me, my heart will guide me to where you are. Princess, if I could meet you again, I would stay by your side. Forever.

THIS, MY FRIEND, IS A LIE. At the end of his true route, after Chihiro & co defeated Hakuryuu, it made a whole new timeline outside of the loop. In the new timeline, Kokuryuu didn't try to destroy the whole world and Hakuryuu didn't interfere much with the human world, which means Kazahaya isn't needed in the new timeline and everyone's memory of Kazahaya is gone. Tokoyo didn't attack Nakatsu, Ichinohime and Habarihiko are alive, the world is at peace. But it's missing Kazahaya.

One day, Chihiro was walking around Kashihara when Kazahaya showed up in front of her. Kazahaya, knowing that Chihiro also lost her memory, just spouted some pleasantries and continue on his way.

NOW THIS IS WHERE THINGS GET SPICY

You get a set of choices here. You can choose to remember him, in which case you'll get a CG and happy ending, OR you can choose to not remember him. Do that, and you can watch how Chihiro was distressed because she couldn't remember Kazahaya and Kazahaya leaving her because he didn't want to see her sad.

hypothetically speaking do you think there's a possibility for prsk to pull an5 & throw toya on the 3.5 banner (looking at itoken && jienna on the 3.5 anni)

i have my doubts about An5 honestly. ignoring the colour of the preview video/eventual song jacket, the odds are in Toya's favour. his last event was a year ago, and his last unit event was 537 days ago (he currently holds the record). plus plotwise i think it makes more sense to wrap up the stuff about getting the gang back together carrying on from BMS before we deal with the conclusion to An's character arc (in regards to her partnership with kohane and her insecurities). Toya4 was very much set up in Break Down the Wall too. minori5 happening before haruka4 seems like a one-off, like the last time smth like this happened was in 2021-22 lol.

itoken and jiena both being on the stream did catch my eye though. it might just be a case of them being available or it might be that An5 will be the first rotation 5 event, crazy as it sounds? minoringo is definitely there for ena4 and i would've said chiirurin was there for saki5 but also clpl has only made like...3 good decisions in the past few months so. you never know.

Wait I'm confused. How does only Honami 4 and Haruka 4 being announced mean next event is mixed? Couldn't Honami still be January lim with the mixed event being in one of the permanent slots to split up all of the unit events? Or is Sekai schedule just really messed up and I'm missing something?

Yeah I posted that spec at 11pm and I’m really tired. You’re right. It could always go Hona4 lims -> perm mixed -> Haruka4 perm. So Hona4 lims are definitely still a possibility.

However after writing down everything earlier I am more inclined now to believe that Toya will be the unit lim event instead, mainly because both him and An are in dire need of another lim card. Plus, the WxS WLE schedule was announced today and revealed that there’s only 8 days between that gacha ending and 3.5th which makes me believe that Saki (and maybe Ichika) is more likely to be the 3.5th fes than Tsukasa and Emu. And also there’s the whole Miku thing for 3.5 which means that event is extremely likely to be Akito, but niigo kaito needs to get a card before then, which means there has to be a mixed lim event that probably features both him and emu bc she still needs a lim before summer fes, and then mafuyu makes most sense to put as the third card. Rui4 lineup may have been random but I think it solved a lot of problems I had with trying to work out the lineups for future events.

But yeah also the schedule is super messed up since they introduced WLEs.

so, the new years line up just dropped. what are you predicting now?

i typed an answer to this 3 days ago but my shitty wifi deleted it so here we go again orz

okay so next event is vbs WLE we already know that. afterwards is rui4, and i have some thoughts on that. first off, it's cute attribute. second, i reckon Rin will be the vsinger 4* - her last 4* was on Stick to your faith, and currently she's gone the second longest amount of time since her last 4*, only beaten by Ichika. Also wxs rin has never had a 4* on a wxs unit event, only mixed banners. I'm a bit torn as to who the other 4* will be. Emu is the one I would say is most likely, but she also has a mixed event coming up (there's only 3 characters left now) and a WLE 4* in March, plus if her mixed event ends up in a perm slot that means she's gonna get a lim soon on top of that, so we could very much end up in an Emu spam situation. Nonetheless, I still feel she's pretty likely just based on the fact that Tsukasa and Nene have been rateup on 2/3 Rui events so far. In the case of Emu 4*, Tsukasa and Nene reward cards could go either way, but I'm gonna say Nene 3* Tsukasa 2* just based on how long its been since their last ones, and also because Nene was literally just a 2* a couple months ago on Tsukasa4.

However, in case of Emu spam, she works fine as the 2* and then just slap Tsukasa as the other rateup card (i would say nene also works but considering the likelihood of this event being cute attrib she's tied for most cute cards in the game right now).

so for rui4, one of

4* Rui/Emu/Rin, 3* Nene, 2* Tsukasa (<- most likely?)

4* Rui/Emu/Rin, 3* Tsukasa, 2* Nene

4* Rui/Tsukasa/Rin, 3* Nene, 2* Emu

(you could always swap rin for wxs miku and put rin on haruka4 or honami4 but i don't want to make this too overcomplicated)

the mixed event is where this shit gets horrible though

excluding Break Down The Wall and rui4, there are 6 events until we reach the 3.5 event at the end of march. one of those events in the WxS WLE in march event slot 1. 2 of these events are limited banners.

There are also 4 characters left to get their 4th event (Honami, Haruka, Toya, Ena). Last year, 3rd rotation ended the event before Resonant Town/2.5th. 4th rotation began the event afterwards.

We have 5 available event slots, and 4 characters. If we keep both the valentines and white day events as mixed events, we will go over 3.5th by one event. to me, it seems like they're trying to get 4th rotation over and done with by the half anni again.

That means either the valentines or white day slot could likely be taken up by a unit lim event.

There are so many characters due lims in the next few months that at this point I think they're gonna go over a year without one.

And here's my really, really messy thoughts on things

The limited banner won't be Haruka, nor will it be Ena (ena4 will have Mizuki as rateup, and Mizuki just got her 6th lim)

Honami works if you make Ichika and Saki rateup (we established earlier that the next vsinger lim with be KAITO for MMJ or N25, so no vsinger here). Honami is pretty due a lim, and its been long enough since Saki and Ichika's last lims. Shiho hasn't had a 3* in 2 years, Ichika has had 2 recently, and Saki has the most reward cards in the game. This makes a lot of sense honestly. Also Leo/need is due an event soon so you could put this in the valentine's slot no problem

Toya also works if you make An and Kohane rateup. Toya is the character in the game most in need of a lim right now (his last one was the white day one in february last year), but An is the 2nd most due (her last one was last march on 2.5). It's also been 6+ months since Kohane's last lim. Akito doesn't need reward cards though, but it's not like he has the most yet. There is also an issue here with proximity to the VBS WLE. I reckon Toya might go last in rotation 4, or at least very near the end (makes sense given that Rui4 happened a lot earlier than anticipated so it didn't clash with WxS WLE).

However the devs might decide they do not give a fuck about when they finish rotation 4, and run valentines and white day as normal

In that case, white day will definitely be Akito. I would've said Rui as the other rateup, considering there's only 4 possible cross-unit pairings between the boys, but white day is directly before wxs WL, so no. Looking at who is most in need of lims, we have Toya, An, Ena, and Mafuyu. All of these make a lot of sense, aside from Mafuyu, but he has met her. I'd say Ena is most likely though, since she's not a VBS member. This does land you in the issue of the 3rd rateup character though. Because you could slap N25 KAITO on there we've established KAITO lim coming soon, but also KAITO was rateup on last year's white day. So was Toya. I mean this event doesn't have to be white day themed though...

That leaves us with Emu and Kanade, one for Valentines, and one for 3.5. Only they both already have valentines lims. Do you get why I'm saying hona4 might be in the valentines slot atp?

You could do Mafuyu/Emu for 3.5 i guess. plus n25 kaito. and then. I dunno. We can't give Toya/An/Ena all lims before they hit 1 year under the assumption of hona4 being lim so. out of them i'd say toya because he knows Emu, doesn't actually have kizuna with her yet in spite of that, and wasn't on the 2.5 anni event.

i do think akito/ena/toya for white day slot is very possible though. akito/ena/an also works ig

this gets worse when you actually line it up on a schedule because no matter what order you put the events in you end up with hypothetical cards near b2b.

anyway i think it's better if we think about february and march events closer to the time with the current hell schedule

But for January lims at least:

4* Honami/Ichika/Saki, 3* Shiho, 2* vsinger (probably MEIKO or KAITO) (<- most likely? but less hesitant this time)

Akito, Kanade, or Emu banner + one or two out of Toya, An, Ena, and Mafuyu as the other rateups.

^ Visually here's what I think is most probable for January based on actual card stats etc but staff does not give a fuck so some of the other possibilities I mentioned are in the running (I'm fairly sure about lim hona4 but rui4 could swap the Emu and Tsukasa cards)
