apologies for the week and a day late blog ...

this week is spirit week !! :) i was a little busy last week with testing and the week before that i was filming a LOT for a short film project i had to do !! i really hate being busy, but you gotta do what you gotta do for school >_<

there's not too much i'm excited for this week, but i get to go to homecoming this saturday (which i already mentioned <3). i finally got my hair done for it too, which is big, curly, and blonde, so i'm one step closer to achieving my classic hime gal dreams !! i ordered the dress long before the theme was put our though, so i'll stick out like a sore thumb .... but that should be alright :))

looking back at my photo album, 2 weeks ago wasn't very eventful co*de wise. i just wore a lot of stuff i've worn before, but that friday i was a manba cowboy (which was a SUPER fun look!). as for last week, a lot of my co*des were rokku and goshikku, but generally halloween themed <3 the stuff i ordered last post came in, so i just wore a bunch of it IMMEDIATELY lol !! only that thursday my co*de was really meh, but only because i had to wear white that day. monday i wore this super cute red and black co*de that i wear a lot!! it was basically a long plaid skirt with my black tank top and my fingerless gloves. i took a LOT of selfies thag day. tuesday i wore hot pink and black, my favorite color combo, and it was a little different from the usual, i'd say ! my clothes were very baggy and big instead of tight fitting. and my shirt was designed as the skeleton bones. wednesday i wore a striped off the shoulder purple and black top (though i couldn't really figure the shirt out), a long black skirt, and a spider headband !!thursday was all white, blegh ... and friday i styled my ruffled pink and black skirt with a vest and a pink tank top instead of the usual black tank top :)) as for today, for spirit week, i'm a hot pink and black nurse for career day

i'm VERY excited for tomorrow because my grade is doing 80s day, and my perfect idea is the workout/yoga outfit !! i'm planning on blending 80s makeup with gyaru, so it'll be super cute <3 i don't care for the rest of this spirit week, but my other school will be doing a spirit week next week so i'll try doing that as well :) i don't really know about the school spirit stuff, but i just like to dress up LOL.

Gyaru Corporative Makeup

Gyaru é conhecido por sua extravagância e maquiagens bem características, mas como fazer isso sendo iniciante e precisando ir trabalhar? :P

É o dilema que eu venho passando, como no meu trabalho não tem um dress code definido eu estou arriscando um pouco mais, vendo até onde seria esse "aceitável". Porém, como sabemos, essas maquiagens menos carregadas são difíceis para iniciantes deixarem com aquela carinha gyaru que muitas onee conseguem.

No meu caso, eu venho me inspirando na maquiagem hime principalmente na parte das bochechinhas rosas (mass tem bastante a ser aprimorado).

Pensando no objetivo de uma maquiagem para trabalho eu vim trazer inspirações que outras gals me passaram (vcs são uns anjinhos), com esse fim.

Relembrando que essas maquiagens mais simples são mais difíceis para serem feitas quando a gente ainda é baby, não sendo um desmerecimento, mas as makes mais exageradas nos ajudam a entender melhor como aplicar a maquiagem gyaru.

Essas makes dependem muito de lentes, cílios, co*de e experiência para que fiquem de um jeito gal e esse olhar a gente consegue com o tempo, por isso que geralmente gyarus mais velhas recomendam que a gente comece com as maquiagens mais exageradas!

¿Como conocí el Gyaru? 

Descubrí la subcultura gyaru el año pasado por un video en recomendados de YouTube del canal GyaruAmericaLatina y me enamoré mucho del estilo, me llamo demasiado la atención que decidí investigar mas, cuando descubrí cual era el motivo de su origen me parecio algo tan genial la forma en la que las mujeres japonesas deciden rompen estereotipos de su País, por eso decidí unirme a esta subcultura, soy una kogal!

Si soy sincera soy nueva en esto  pero me gustaría que a través de este blog pueda compartir información, recomendaciones, experiencias, dibujos mios, etc..

this is meant to be an intro post sooo i'll give a little introduction :)

i go by both void and dionysus (he/him)! as it states in my bio, im 15 currently and im a baby gyaru! i basically created this account to start a little blog on my journey progressing as a gal! i don't know much about posting like this, which is exactly why i started. i want to progressively learn more about the lifestyle of gyaru and apply it to my own life! my current goal is to update every weekend <3

i love all of the substyles of gal, but i would say that my favorite is hime gyaru right now ★ i'm part of the gyarusa @gal.luv_3gg on both tiktok and instagram. i've participated in gyaru since late november 2021, but i honestly feel like i became really serious about it these past few months!

i've always strived to find my own style since i first got into fashion, even if i acted like i didn't care too much about it >_< ! throughout the years, i've gone through various things. the earliest i can remember is trying to have a masculine style, which is probably the furthest from what my style is right now. i've always been interested in jfashion but i never thought i could do it because i never had enough clothes and i was a little embarrassed showing my parents. for a little bit, i identified as goth even though i didn't listen to goth music. i just kinda wore black and did the makeup LOL. but i honestly felt really connected to gyaru, like it was really *me* for once, which makes me happy! :)

i even created a little "holiday" i guess? and i called it gal friday, dedicated to doing the makeup and having a glimpse into the lifestyle! at first i made it for me to be gal consistent because i still wasn't very used to the makeup. eventually, i started being gal more than just one day. a couple turned into a few, and a few into every weekday! now i just dedicate that day to convincing people to participate and see what gyaru is like for a day. it's always great to see <3 a friday never passes by without someone at school telling me "happy gal friday!"

for now, i'm unsure about the substyle i want to invest the most in. i love all of them! even thought hime gal is my favorite, it's difficult to find all the pretty dresses and elaborate outfits every day :( of course, i can go for himekaji instead, but i get indecisive because i also love rokku and haady. for now, i just pick one depending on how i feel!! i don't have quite enough money for authentic gal items right now, so i have usually buy from other places online like amazon and aliexpress for the last few months. of course that's only now, but i used to buy from shein and hot topic. i receive the rest of my clothes as gifts or from thrifting. i believe they can be from forever 21, rue 21, fashion nova, and probably some other places.

a bit of a late post today >_<

i've been a little lazy this week ... it was just average because of school, but i was still able to get some good outfits in !! i was busy all week and tired all weekend though, so i have to rush in this post at 7pm ... whoops

as far as outfits go, i think i did good !! for monday, i had this witch inspired goshikku co*de (though i got made fun of for the hat LOL). tuesday i wore a rainbow co*de !! its amekaji inspired but not quite amekaji- it almost seemed more like a light decora or kidcore coord. wednesday i wore a really pink kogal co*de, and thursday was a rokku co*de with a kinda different style of lips than i usually do! for gal friday... (drumroll please) it wasss an agejo co*de !! i tried my best to look a bit more cute than sexy though. i don't do agejo often for obvious reasons, but i really wanted to wear the dress i had, which is a ma*rs dupe from shein ! i bought it months ago now and only wore it twice, this time included. i think my two best outfits were thursday and friday, but maybe i'm a little biased because i LOVE the pink x black color combo <3

i really planned on using some of lizzie's (hello lizzie bee) post about gyaru blogs for inspiration this weekend, but i think it's down again ? so this post is a little laid back ! i don't really know if there's a real format to posting like this, so i just type how i usually do with a lot less grammar mistakes >_<

the weekend had been nice to me ! although i worked out in the hot sun on saturday, i still got to dress up at least !! i take the weekend as my experimental days. whether it be trying other makeup styles (usually goth), testing possible co*des, or TRYING my best to style certain items that i dont usually wear. on saturday, i had to go to my brother's football game (not that it had any significance on my outfit ofc 😋). i tried styling this mesh black top with red hearts, and i think i succeeded ! i only wore it one other time, but my mom got another skirt for me and it worked perfectly :)

lastly i'll just show my co*des from thursday and friday since they were my favs <3 i just did this simple collage since i'm not completely used to editing yet, but i wanna start trying more intricate stuff soon ! hope you guys enjoyed this and see ya later :}

gahhh what an early post !! but i did tell you guys to stay tuned >:] because all of my blogs are about my life and my co*des, i wanted to take a more "gyaru" approach with this post, i guess you could say ? i decided to make the theme of this "where to find gyaru inspiration"!! so lets get started <3

where do you find gyaru inspo, void?

obviously, inspiration can be anywhere you look. google, tumblr, twitter, instagram, tiktok, pinterest, etc etc etc. but here's how i organize everything so inspiration is easy to find.

of course, any kind of inspiration starts with pinterest (in my opinion). you can always search up substyles and other stuff on your search bar. but personally, after reading brief explanations on my substyle of choice, i add it all to my gyaru board (and if i weren't lazy, i would organize them into their respective sections too). this way, it's easy to find inspiration that you particularly like in one spot, and the stuff you often search up also pops up a lot in your home page ! i like using my home page when i'm unsure on which style to do. of course, you don't have to do this (or take any of my advice honestly). other gyaru have made pinterest boards and you could always use those too !!

moving onto instagram !! in my opinion, it's a little harder to use, but it still gets the job done. anytime i feel inspired by the gals i follow, i favorite them. after that, i just look at my favorites page instead of my following, which gives me easy access to everyones posts. i don't often look through hashtags, but you can also use those :] here's some of the gyaru i follow on instagram -> @/maliciouscitrus @/vixenren_ @/khmergyal @/jandoras_box_boutique @/kohleathestrange @/noveqie @lady_lavvender @nauro.0 and more !! many of these gals are also on tiktok :]

now, tiktok !! i find tiktok easier to use for inspo than instagram, but the only thing about it is that there is no real variety when looking through tags top to bottom all the time. i would personally suggest following a bunch of gals ! this way, more of them will be added to your for you page. plus, you would end up having a pretty diverse following page with lots of different videos to look at <3 another VERY important way for me to keep up with particularly inspiring or helpful videos is favoriting them and putting them in a collection !! here's some of the gyaru i follow on tiktok -> @/luwuci_ @/evrytaeevr @/cinnagal @/kenbaii @/harurin7777 @/vixbun @/sweetpotatopunk @/tasiajanee_

i'm gonna collapse google, twitter, and tumblr into one paragraph :) google is a good quick platform, but it's likely to show you wrong results, so i wouldn't recommend it for especially new gyaru. when i do use google, i put all my gal related tabs into one gyaru themed tab group. twitter is not really a good resource of inspiration unless you follow lots of gyaru fan accounts and actual gyaru. they're a little hard to find though since looking up the term "gyaru" will often have a bunch of unrelated tweets about it. i'm not really used to tumblr, but i'm sure it could be very helpful, especially following the right gals :)
