Coffee maker plates keep rusting out

Coffee maker plates keep rusting out Hey guys, I'd appreciate some advice! It seems like we go through a coffee maker every year, simply because this plate starts to rust out - the location where the carafe sits and warms at.Granted, we use this a lot - almost every day I'd say. But we arent rough on it and dont do anything unconventional.What causes this? How can I avoid it and is there anyway to fix this? I was tempted to take it in the shop, take a wire brush to it, and spray paint it with high heat paint but wasnt sure if that was a good idea or not.We thought for a while it was because we were buying cheap makers. But this Braun was $125... being only a year old I feel this is not acceptable. I’ve been dating this girl for a while now and we both love each other so much. We’ve even told each other that we believe we’re soulmates and want to do anything to spend the rest of our lives together.But I have this weird thing that whenever she mentions one of her ex’s I somehow completely shut down and get sad for a while. The reason for why I get sad is because I imagine her being with some other guy and since I know about her past, knowing that someone could’ve hurt someone so precious is killing me. I really don’t understand how someone would hurt her, she’s the sweetest person ever. Anyway, moving on.I told her last night about this and how it makes me sad, and I tell her that this is not her fault by any means and she should blame herself for this. She kept telling me that I never would’ve been sad if she never told me about the ex’s, but obviously talking about your past is a huge thing in a relationship. It shows you that you trust the other person and it’s a good sign that they talk about it.She doesn’t talk about her ex’s often, but it just happens from time to time and I really want to know how I should fix this and fix myself. I don’t want to be sad just because of what happened, she says that the other guys don’t matter and that i’m the one she’s truly loved. And I believe her because I know we’re meant for each other and so does she. And just to clarify, we’re both super happy in the relationship otherwise.So how do I stop overthinking and stop being upset about it? Thanks in advance guysEdit: words via /r/dating_advice
