Yesterday was watching Travel Man first shown some years ago. He was in Oslo with Fay Ripley like all episodes it seems that in every episode all from different cities the star with Richard Ayoade as the host do different things and visit other places within the city that seem to be of interest. There is a tendency to show the participants at the best restaurants that the particular city can offer. The one from Oslo showed a restaurant where the tasting menu was ninety pounds per person. Although the discussion of the after effects of Jerusalem Artichokes was just too much information. The cost of forty eight hours per person was in excess of £2000 per person. So why write about this. The answer is easy they went to Museum and Art Gallery and a room full of paintings by Gustav Climt. Everyone knows two paintings these being ‘The Scream’ and ‘The Kiss’ . However I was really impressed by two aspects of his paintings the first was the portraits he painted especially of women and secondly the pastoral scenes he also painted. I am going to add a picture that whilst it may not have been in the museum I found very pleasing.

This sort of reminds me of a Van Gogh but with just a tad more realism. I have also added a portrait that he painted as well. Thank you Richard Ayoade and thank you the programme Travel Man

Andrei Vasile-Vleju este un tânăr pictor talentat. Este din Filioara Agapiei, are 30 de ani și este absolvent al Seminarului Teologic ”Veniamin Costachi”, de la Mânăstirea Neamț, secția Patrimoniu, unde, în 2006, a obținut atestat de tehnician în pictura bizantină. Și-a continuat apoi studiile la Facultatea de Teologie ”Dumitru Stăniloae” din Iași, la Arta Sacră, secția Conservare-restaurare, în perioada 2006-2009. Pasionat fiind și de istorie, și-a luat masteratul la Facultatea de Istorie, Patrimoniu și Turism Cultural, în 2011, după facultate.

* ”Poți sluji Domnului și cu pensula”

Andrei nu este căsătorit. Locuiește cu mama sa, educatoare la școala din sat, și cu bunica din partea mamei. Actualmente, este liber profesionist.

”Am desenat și am pictat încă de mic copil, de la grădiniță. Am fost atras de culoare și pictură, din ce în ce mai mult, din clasele primare. Primul desen, tablou, l-am realizat la vârsta de 2 ani și jumătate, când am desenat un cocoș stilizat, după relatările mamei. Am experiența dobândită din familie, că mama mea este educatoare la grădinița Filioara. Nu mi-am dorit niciodată să fiu profesor, mai ales dacă privim partea financiară. Poți sluji Domnului și cu pensula, nu numai cu cuvântul. Am dorit să rămân la pictură, iubesc să pictez, cu multă pasiune. În primul rând, trebuie să mulțumesc domnului profesor Dan Țârdea, de la Seminarul Teologic de la Mănăstirea Neamț, pentru sprijinul, profesionalismul, încrederea și susținerea pe care mi le-a arătat pe tot parcursul celor cinci ani petrecuți la seminar”, spune Andrei.

* 100 de ore de lucru la ”Cina cea de Taină”

În picturile sale, se inspiră din natură. Pe de altă parte, o parte importantă a lucrărilor sale o reprezintă icoanele. Dintre ele, definitorie rămâne ”Cina cea de Taină”: a realizat-o în aproximativ 100 de ore.

”Sunt un mare iubitor de natură, de unde mă și inspir în creațiile mele. În artă, nu se lucrează cu ora, ca la alte meserii și, deci, unele lucrări le poți realiza într-o perioadă mai scurtă sau mai îndelungată. Am realizat o icoană – «Cina cea de Taină» -, de 100 cm pe 70 cm, în o sută și ceva de ore. Costurile sunt foarte mari pentru realizarea unei opere, deoarece materialele sunt foarte scumpe. Iar, ca pictor, trebuie să ai un atelier, un minim necesar de materiale, șevalete, pânză, pensule, etc. și să exersezi continuu”, mai spune Andrei.

* ”În România, arta nu este căutată”

Andrei recunoaște că nu poate trăi doar din picturile sale, mai ales că multe dintre tablourile sale le-a donat sau le-a vândut pe sume modice, prin Italia, Germania sau Austria.

”Arta, în general, nu se face pentru bani, deoarece atunci nu s-ar mai numi artă. În România mai ales, nu se poate trăi din pictură, deoarece nu există educație în acest sens. Mi s-au oferit sume modice pe unele din creațiile mele, astfel încât am hotărât să le păstrez. Nu am avut până acum vreo colaboare cu instituțiile publice, dar sper ca, pe viitor, să se întâmple și acest lucru. Mi s-a propus realizarea unei expoziții personale, dar momentan nu îmi permit, din punct de vedere financiar. Am donat lucrări în Ucraina, unui coleg preot, care construiește o biserică nouă. Am lucrări în Austria, Germania și Italia, în număr mic și pe prețuri modice. În România, arta nu este căutată, decât de un număr redus de iubitori și cunoscători. În consecință, am câteva lucrări, făcute doar pentru prieteni. Îmi place enorm să pictez si voi picta mereu, dar, în paralel, trebuie să găsesc o sursă de venit, pentru a-mi finanța pasiunea. Vincent van Gogh a vândut un singur tablou în toată viața sa și, totuși, nu a încetat să picteze”, adaugă Andrei.

Tânărul pictor are și alte pasiuni, pe lângă pictură. În propria curte, deține o plantație de mure fără spini care îi ocupă din timpul liber, iar dacă mai prinde câte un pic de vreme, se preocupă de lectură și drumeții, alte două plăceri de-ale sale. ”Pentru că îmi plac foarte mult fructele de pădure, în timpul liber mă ocup de mica mea plantație de mure fără spini și aștept să rodească. De asemenea, sunt pasionat și de lectură, drumeții și, ori de câte ori, am ocazia mă uit la filme istorice. Sau admir natura, pur și simplu”, mărturisește Andrei.

* ”Mama m-a sprijinit să-mi îndeplinesc visul”

Printre pictorii pe care-i admiră, se află Vincent Van Gogh și Picasso. Cel mai mult, însă, o admiră pe mama sa, care l-a sprijinit în tot ceea ce a făcut până acum. Și nădăjduiește că munca sa nu este în zadar.

”Nu am ținut șirul icoanelor și tablourilor pe care le-am pictat de-a lungul timpului, însă cred că sunt un număr însemnat. Am mai mulți pictori care mă fascinează, printre care se află și Gustav Climt, Vincent Van Gogh și Picasso. Am avut tot sprijinul material și toată încrederea în visul meu din partea mamei mele, Ana Vasile-Vleju. Sper ca aceia care vor veni după mine să nu considere că am irosit vopselele și pânza în zadar. Și mai sper că, în România, arta și artiștii vor fi apreciați la adevărata lor valoare”, încheie Andrei.

Woman in gold, dir Simon Curtis. (2015) Across this movie, I discovered the hidden history of the well-know portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer painted by Gustav Climt. And I really loved it, how the movie was passing from a time to another, from the past to the present, telling us two real story about a same family. I particularly love the feelings shared by eyes, the touching look of the young and the old Maria. The performance of both actress was so great, but I was expecting to this, knowing Tatiana Maslany and Helen Mirren as overtalented actress. ( and I can’t forget Max Irons, thank you to exist. ) As always when I look this type of movie about the second world war, and the horrible fate of jewish, I’m thinking about how it is important to remember the past and to learn from it. We should not reproduce the same mistakes or let its happen again, knowing what human being is capable of. This movie is a great lesson of humanity, tolerance and justice. - Lune -

What makes us happy?

I know I say this for every post, but honestly these might be some of my favorites, and they are DEFINITELY some of the ones I am most proud of. I've always loved art and these are my tributes to my grandparents and all of the times we visited the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
