Part of the Gunpowder Tim vs. the Moonkaiser project I'm working on. I still have a hard time figuring out what kinds of weapons to include, but nerf guns as reference help.

me: in “teatime with the kaiser”, the last song in gunpowder tim vs. the moon kaiser, the music is mostly a mix of guitar, bass, and drums behind jonny’s lyrical narration. after the line “tim looked the soldier in the eye / and he gave the order, ‘FIGHT!’” the music is joined by the glockenspiel, which is specifically one of the only instruments played by the toy soldier. in the part of the story where the soldier was brought into the fight, the song itself brings the soldier into the music!

how many fights do you think have broken out at [in universe] mechs concerts because tim actually looked at toy when he says 'fight!' in gptvtmk and it just starts stabbing

Idk if this actually matters or not but I was listening to the mechanisms on shuffle ( horrible idea I manged to get aurora strikes, riddle of the sphinx n frankenstine since I started typing this)

But I kinda noticed something, so gpt us loki n eoidipus right? All three character have something that happens to their eyes, like

Gunpowder tim - blinded by moon boom boom

Eodipus - gouged put his own eyes after realising he fucked his mum

Loki - (granted this is more to do with the myth) has the venom of the world serpent dripping into their eyes

But point is their all ties by their eyes

Wanna know who else has a tie between their characters? Marius

Think about it both thor n heracles have lighting symbology, with heracles calling himself 'the thunder bolts of zeus' in favoured son n thor is the god of thunder in mythology

What if whatever happened to marius for him to end up mechanised had something to do with a lightening storm n being stuck in a mechanical suit which is basically just a big ass lightening rod

Idk I've just had this though for a while might add to it later or something idk

I imagine the first rehearsal of Gunpowder Tim vs. The Moon Kaiser to have gone something like this

gunpowder tim vs the moon kaiser implies that the british monarchy still exists after 300 years, which frankly, I think is a more horrifying concept than anything else the mechanisms have written about

Mechtober Day 22: Headcanons

The pumps weren’t working but they did manage to find respirators. However…

Tim forgot what Bertie looked like, after some time. He barely even got to see him on the moon as it was, with the rarity of light, and it didn't take him long to be scrambling for memories of Bertie's face only to come up with nothing. He resents his eyes. They can't show him the one thing he truly wants to see. He resents the night vision that came with them. Maybe if he'd had it earlier he could have spent more time looking at Bertie, maybe he wouldn't have forgotten, but it's too late. He only has them because Bertie died. Was that death worth fancy new eyes with fancy new features and the eternity now stretching ahead of him? Eyes that won't even let him see his lover, no, partner, no, best friend, no one knows the nature of their relationship and he won't tell them, won't let them turn that into another story, that love that transcends friendship and transcends romance is only for them to know. Only for him to know, now. And he can't even remember the face of the man he shared it with.

And now, years centuries millennia eons later, more time than most civilizations have words to describe, he doesn't think about. He sings the song with Jonny and it doesn't bother him. He won't let it, he can't let it, and he's fine. But when they're chosing roles for their new, as-of-yet nameless space train album, and he sees Loki backing away from her wife, her love, he wonders if he'd recognize Bertie. If something deep within him would just know. And for the first time in longer than he cares to measure, he tries to remember Bertie. There's nothing. He knows that he cared, that Bertie had to have meant enough to him for his death to break him like that, but he doesn't remember what he felt. He doesn't remember anything but his song. So he takes the part of Loki. No one takes any note, of course they don't. And if he understands her more than he'd like? No one else needs to know.

sorry about your boyfriend… such violence couldn’t last, and tim’s luck ran dry, when a lenny lined a rifle up and let the lead fly.. and when he awoke, he was chilled to the bone.. yeah, he was kneeling unarmed at the moon kaiser’s throne.. sorry.
