this ask got me thinking about the body swap au again lol here's a wip for what is eventually going to become a sketch dump post for the au aha. whenever i finish that.

Quick question. What would happen if someone came up on one of dipper's old graves and decided to resurrect him during one of his reincarnations? Would his soul leave the current vessel and get sucked back into the old one, or would his corpse just be filled with a whole lotta nothing?

That's an excellent question!

My first impulse is to say that resurrecting Dipper's old body wouldn't have an effect. Whoever did it would end up with a zombie, or the shell of a body with nothing in it.

My second impulse is: What if Dipper did get sucked out of his current body, and popped right back into his old one? Now you've got one very confused Dipper, and one extremely distressed demon who just saw the love of his life get his soul sucked out, going limp and dead right in front of his eye!

Overall, I guess it depends on exactly what kind of resurrection was pulled off. A body alone type thing will get you no brain or soul to go with it, but if it specifically targeted the soul itself? Then you better have enough oomph behind it to yank it out of someone who's currently alive.

arthur dragging merlin to training bc he needs a training dummy and who better than an actually dummy (no, merlin, arthur cant train with the knights bc. bc. bc they’re busy. IT DOESN’T MATTER THAT HES THEIR PRINCE/KING AND THEREFORE WILL DO WHATEVER HE SAYS-). merlin picking up on both defensive and offensive skills bc sometimes arthur needs to spice up training and doesn’t need a shield to hit but another sword. arthur and the knights being beaten and tied up but their assailants leave the serving boy free to serve them instead. but it’s not like merlin can just use magic in front of them so he bides his time until he’s able to get his hands on a sword to use against them. they don’t take him seriously (hahaha what can the lanky, wimpy serving boy who was hiding behind a tree during their quarrel do with a sword thicker than his body?). merlin using the skills he developed during training and while studying under gaius as physicians apprentice to strike at just the right spots to absolutely obliterate them

@tilia-cacophonous Quite an interesting blog title and banner combination you have there. Very titillating. I will graciously accept the kisses and, should you ever find yourself suddenly able to shine bright enough to put a lamp to shame, there will be an empty spot over my shoulder for you to stand while I work.

Does reincarnated Dipper ever go and work in medical? - as a doctor or nurse or pyschologist. I think that would be funny. I'm sure Bill would *looove* that.

He definitely could! Dipper does love helping people.

And it'd be delightfully frustrating for Dipper to try and navigate his chosen profession while hooking up with a guy who's into intestinal origami and mind-breaking. Bill might be knowledgeable, but he offers a lot of highly inadvisable advice.
