No, this is the first time we’ve documented grain entrapment. We’re not sure where you got that notion because there has been no mention of grain entrapment at all on this blog prior to 27 October 2017.

You are right, though, in pointing out an unfortunate reality, which is that young workers are particularly vulnerable when it comes to grain entrapment. Under U.S. federal law, workers under the age of 16 are forbidden from entering confined spaces, including grain bins. It is important for workers to know their rights as well as preventative measures.
