Would you write something based on- you know a bit ago I requested the bit with Malcolm and Spriggy boi and tiny Andrea? Would you write something with innocent toddler andrea deciding her dad is lonely and he seems to like the weird tree man, and so she decides, possibly in league with her new babysitter slash bestie slash god, to attempt to set the two of them up (not, of course, knowing about the sort of manipulative god worshipper flirtationship theyve got going on already?)?
I just think Malcolm deserves something cute and mildly distressing
Yes! This sounds so cute! :D
On with the fic!
--
"If you are going to have the god of your people watch over your offspring," The Spriggan stated, holding the giggling toddler in his arms as he approached Malcolm, "then I expect payment."
Malcolm looked up from whatever it was he was writing, frowning. "Do I not pay you well enough, my lord?"
"Eh, you pay me fine, but this little... treasure of yours, decided that the flashing buttons on my console needed to be played with."
Andrea giggled again as he put her down, she ran off to her dad, hugging onto him now.
Malcolm smiled as he placed Andrea on his lap. "Thank you for watching her for me while I worked on the next sermons. She has been busy lately, wanting to give me trouble."
The Spriggan shrugged, sitting down in another chair in the room. "It's fine. I don't mind watching Andrea, she likes to talk. A bit of a gob on this one, I can appreciate when someone can out talk me." He smiled at her.
"It's nice that you two are getting along. I was worried for a while there." Malcolm replied. "What did you two talk about?"
"You an' the Spriggan!" Andrea said and Malcolm turned to look at the creature, who looked away quickly.
"Ah? And what were you talking about that involved myself and our god?"
The Spriggan could see Malcolm smiling a little at him out of the corner of his eyes and he sniffed. "We were just discussing how... close we can be sometimes."
He smirked when he saw the smile drop from Malcolm's face. "W-what do you mean?"
"Spriggan said you're lonely!" Andrea announced, then leaned in close to her father's face. "Are you?"
"I..." Malcolm swallowed. "I am not that lonely."
"Do you like Spriggan?"
"O-of course I do. I like his company and what he does for you, our people, and our home."
She frowned, in that way that little children do when they are not happy with an answer. "Are you lonely, father?"
The prophet, for once, was at a loss for words. He stammered before turning to look over at the Spriggan, who just eased himself into a more comfortable position on the chair. "Well, are you?" He asked, his lip quirked.
"I... have been a bit, yes. Though I have Andrea, a-and you." Malcolm said, coughing, sitting up straight in his chair.
"But you could have more of him!" Andrea said, smiling.
Malcolm made a strange noise, looking at her, then at the Spriggan, who laughed. "I think she has a good idea. You could have more of me, prophet." He winked.
The poor human stuttered again, once more unable to speak. Andrea didn't seem to understand, yet still looked rather proud for finally saying what the Spriggan had hinted for her to tell her father.
He was sure that Malcolm would listen to her, he really shouldn't be lonely, after all.
