My GOAL is not to be better than anyone else.... But to be better than i used to BE.... . . After reaching Dambulla i climbed to see the Dambulla cave temple and on my way back saw the Golden Temple. It was not much of a climb but the views from above were mesmerising... The people around the place were very friendly and helpful and told me about the relevance and history of the temple... And it doesn’t take much time to visit both these temples... For me, i arrived at 4pm and was able to explore all the sites and even Golden Buddha temple by 6pm... It has five caves under a vast overhanging rock, carved with a drip line to keep the interiors dry. In 1938 the architecture was embellished with arched colonnades and gabled entrances. Inside the caves, the ceilings are painted with intricate patterns of religious images following the contours of the rock.
