Welcome to ConeClan, named for the pinecones littering the misty forest floor. But something in this forest has gone horribly wrong…

Hi! I’ve become incredibly obsessed with ClanGen lately and have been thinking about starting a clan ask blog for a while. I’ve finally found a premise interesting enough to finally do it.

I’ve been playing a clan called FlintClan, which is a pretty normal, ordinary game. But of the sparse interactions with the automated neighbor clans, their interactions with “ConeClan” have been…ominous.

The very first thing we heard of ConeClan was finding one of their apprentices, Sunpaw, alone at the border, panicking and begging to be let in to FlintClan. Some moons later, FlintClan cats found another ConeClan apprentice, lost and confused who they had to point towards home. Finally, just now in game, a FlintClan warrior called Butterflyfoot was found dead on the ConeClan border.

What in StarClan is going on over there?!? So I rolled up a ConeClan to play with and take a look. And apparently fate was on my side as I immediately rolled cats who were bloodthirsty, vengeful, cunning, and sneaky, and a StarClan guide who was just an apprentice! Yikes.

So the story I have in my head goes as follows:

The forested hills that are home to FlintClan, ConeClan, MistleClan, and TrickleClan have had a rough time of it lately. A brutal plague swept through the territories, killing many. While some, like FlintClan, have managed to start rebuilding with internal and external peace and collaboration, others not so much.

A group of ConeClan warriors were dissatisfied with how their clan was responding to the trouble. They thought the leadership was being far too soft and spineless and their open generosity towards other clans was what caused them to suffer so. Perhaps this was even a punishment from StarClan for not being as fierce and independent as the Warrior Code told them they should be.

They launch a coup in the heart of their clan’s weakness and with so many dead, desperate, or dying, it was an easy victory. It was even easier to chock the murdered up to more plague deaths, as the newly named Cloudstar told the other leaders.

Things in ConeClan have gotten bad the past few moons, with the other clans none the wiser. Sunpaw fled to FlintClan, Clovepaw died to punishment gone too far. Of the 10 cats remaining, three are only kits, and four are the direct instigators of the coup, leaving three cats stuck in the middle, trying not to upset anyone and keep the clan together without further death.

Will ConeClan find it's way back to StarClan or will it continue to spiral until it is completely torn apart? I guess we'll find out!
